Hello friends! Today we are tackling a place for many of us that gets unruly fast....the junk drawer. My kitchen is small. I don't have a lot of drawers and the state of our junk drawer is pretty sad. Today I am taking just a few minutes to clean it out and organize it a lot more. Hope you enjoy!
I hope this video gives you some inspiration to go check out that junk drawer of yours and organize it a little more. Thank you so much for stopping by. I will see you soon. ♥
Hey everyone! Sorry about another late night post but here I am typing away at 12 am. My day hasn't even been busy. Instead, it was a lot of laying around with little being done. We all kinda had a lazy day. Plus my video editor was messing up and I had to do the whole uninstall/reinstall process which too a while. Anyway, enough rambling....I am back sharing days 9-15 in the Love the Home You have 31 day challenge. Also let me explain I went through updating my home-keeping notebook, I totally printed off 2015 calendars and even filled them in. What a dumb-ass thing to do. All that printer ink wasted! I didn't even realize it through the editing process. Sigh. Just know I fixed it! I am still getting confused about what year we are in. :) I still hope you enjoy the video.
Hello friends! I hope you Saturday evening is going well. I am back tonight starting off our new January Love the Home You Have Challenge. I fell in love with this charming book ( which you can find right here ) and for months now I have wanted to do the 31 day challenge in the back of the book. However, we had Thanksgiving in November and Christmas in December. So for a fresh year, month and day I thought January was the perfect time to challenge not only myself but you guys too in the daily tasks designed to help us love our homes more. It's no secret this house we are in hasn't really felt like home. And regardless if we are moving in the future or staying put....this challenge will hopefully help me to get rid of clutter, make the house cleaner and help me appreciate everything I do have. I plan on posting these videos every Saturday in January and also daily on instagram. I would love it if you followed along! Here's how the first couple of challenges went. Hope you enjoy!
Hello friends! I hope your evening is going well. I finally got everything done and basically sitting here with my feet up so thankful for a little downtime. It's been a long day! So far I have clocked in over 15k steps | 6.16 miles | and I still have till midnight until it rolls over and starts again. :)
I thought I would share with you my most recent planning video where I not only share planning but a little mini sticker haul too! I take you through my October planners/family calendar and then I decorate and plan this current week out. If you love planners, planner supplies, and or good piano music...this video is for you! Hope you can enjoy!
I can't get all my planning done in one video or even one day. New things come up pretty much everyday that have to be added. I love stickers for planning but remember they are totally not necessary to be efficient or organized. I don't intend on my planner being a scrapbook but adding a little color makes it a little more fun to figure out everything going on.
And it's just coincidence that I joined The Planner Addict Team today! You can read all about it in Tuesday Truths. But I am totally excited! Thanks so much for stopping by. I'll see ya tomorrow with a new haul! Have a beautiful and blessed night. xx
Hello friends! I hope your evening is going well. I have been busy shopping, cleaning out the pantry and finally getting a few minutes to myself to share my latest video. Its never easy getting everything checked off your to do list each day or each week. For me, it's gotten easier with time. The tips I share in the video below are things that have really helped me stay on task and get things done. I hope maybe this gives you some tips as well as inspiration to get more out of your week....without feeling stressed out. Hope you enjoy!
I would love to know if you have any personal tips of your own that help with you having a more productive week. You can share them in the comments if you like. I think we are all here to learn from each other. :) Have a great night. I still have a bunch of stuff to do before I end my night. I'll see ya tomorrow. xx
Hello friends! I hope your evening is going well. I have been super busy around our home today cleaning which is why this video is going up a little later than normal! :) I get so many questions about my desk and I have been hesitant on sharing it because it's really nothing that special. But to be honest, I love it. It serves it pupose and it really works for me with those big windows. I was working here a few days ago and it was so pretty out. There was a breeze and the birds were singing and I really couldn't imagine a better place to work at. If you want to see it in detail, here's the video. ↓
You really don't have to have a big fancy desk. You can just use what ever area that works for you. I find my bedroom is the best place to work in a private quiet area in our house. I film here often with the natural light of the windows, there is no need to break out the lights and it feels good to me. Plus with it being in the master bedroom there is a attached bathroom, which is nice. Eventually I will probably switch it up to something different but I really don't see why I need to in any kind of hurry. This has worked for years, and I bet it will continue to for many more. Hope you enjoyed the little tour. I'll see ya soon! xx
Happy Saturday to you all! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Honestly since this morning I haven't done much of anything that I haven't wanted to do. How nice is that!? :) I have actually been learning all about Windows10 today. I just got it installed in the very late hours of the night and woke up to a bunch of new changes. It's interesting and I do like the layout. Still their browser does not support blogger so I am going to stick to chrome but I am still loving the changes. It's got Cortana which is pretty much like suri on the iphone. So I get to talk right into my laptop with the click of a button to get the fastest answers possible. Isn't that amazing within itself? Lots of new features to get use to. Anyway, I am back with a new planner video. It is the first of the month after all! So I am taking you through planning in my Inkwell Press Planner and one of my Erin Condren Calendars. It's a bit long so get a cup of tea and settle in to watch how I planned things out for a new month. Hope you enjoy!
As you can see I do love stickers a lot for planning but you certainly do not need them. As you saw, this past week in my Inkwell Press I did not use stickers. It didn't seem like I had enough time to decorate so I just stuck to the basics. Pen and Paper is ALWAYS enough. So don't worry if you don't have a ton of stickers...instead, just start making a roadmap of your month, your week and your day. It's more important to know what you have coming up and what you need to get done than where to place a sticker. I just simply like them and like the color they add. But again.. you don't need stickers at all.
If you are sticker person, I tried to share where I got most of the stickers I used and where I got them. However, if you need further information on any of the stickers that you saw in the video, just let me know and I will be happy to help! Also in this planning video I share with you a lot of other supplies I love too. I normally buy stickers off etsy once a month or so but remember it takes a while for a lot of those stickers to arrive. I also order a lot of stickers from Erin Condren. Just because I don't use their planners at this time doesn't mean I don't like their stickers.
Here are some of the stickers I shared in the video above: BTW...I listed out the Sticker and then it's linked to the etsy store. You will have to scroll through and find which one you are using.
If I missed any just let me know if you need help finding them. I also find stickers out and about when I am shopping too. So be sure to check your local stores too. :) I would love to know what kind of planner person you are! If you plan weekly, daily, or even never! Let me know! :) Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend and don't forget to get subscribed!
Hello friends! I hope your day is going well. Around here its been a day of thunder and no rain. The sun is out but the sky is grumbling and before long, it will probably be pouring down. Perfect for a day at the desk with a steaming cup of hot tea. Anyway, I am back sharing another one of our Travel Series Videos. This time I am sharing how I packed Scott and my carry on luggage. Everyone is different packs different. However, some of the items in our carry on really made a huge difference in organization which were also space saving. You can check out all the new and old luggage that we were using and loving right here. Hopefully some time in August I will have some reviews up of some of the new luggage that we used. And by the way...I am sorry for the blurry picture. I must have deleted it and just used a screen capture from youtube. :)
Summer is the time for travel for so many of us as well as holiday travel. So hopefully a few of the tips and tricks in the video will help make your travels easier too! Hope you enjoy!
Everyone packs different and I totally understand those trips when there is no planning... just packing and getting out of the door as fast as possible. However, life is so much easier when you plan and organize. While we were on vacation, I was so happy to know I had everything I needed. And knowing where it was in the bag made things so much easier. Do you have any packing tips? I would love to hear them! I'll be back soon sharing what's in my travel makeup bag. Stay tuned! xx
Hello friends! Happy late night to you all. This video is going live late tonight because a blog post was required when the video went live on youtube. :) This plan with me video was mostly filmed at night....sorry for the lighting. But I just filmed when I actually had the time to plan. Hope you enjoy!
So as you saw in the video, I am letting go of one of the Erin Condren planners I have. It's slightly used and I will tear out a few pages but for the most part, the planner is barely used. I thought maybe one of you guys might want it...and that's better than it collecting dust on my desk. All you have to do is get entered below. You have until August 1, 2014 and it's open to everyone. ♥ Good luck.
Hello friends. I hope you are having a wonderful night. I am back sharing another 2015 Travel Series Video with you guys. All these videos went up on my youtube channel while we were on vacation so I am trying to catch up. This video shows you how I packed Scott and my luggage up. Everyone packs differently...but this is the way it works for us. Hopefully you can get some tips that might make packing easier for you. Hope you enjoy!
As you can see the packing cubes and envelopes were a great help. They make all the difference with packing a lot of items. It kept us organized while on vacation and really made life a lot easier! I explained everything I used in this video just in case you want to find them for your families. Let me know if you have any questions! xx
Hello friends! Happy Monday to you all. With all the videos I have to post on here that are already up on youtube, plus the new daily vlogs for this week; I am skipping the Week in Review Blog Post. Instead, I have a new 2015 Travel Series Video plus later today there will be another vlog up! I just have so much online work to do after being gone....it's going to take a little while to catch up. I thought for my 2015 Travel Series, I would include some packing videos to share how I get us ready for a trip. This video goes into the planning before packing. I know there are times in all of our lives when a trip is not planned and you just got to toss stuff in a big and get out of the door as quick as possible. I get that. It's happened more than once in my own life but today I am sharing some pre travel prep work that is so helpful when you have time to plan. This is how I get ready for a trip...when time allows. Hope you enjoy.
I recently shared a lot of my travel videos in this blog post in case you missed any. Plus you can find them on this playlist. Summer is the time for travel and maybe some of the tips will help make packing a little easier! :) Thanks so much for stopping by! As I said later today I will have another Day in the Life Vlog up from our vacation. Be sure to come back! :)
Hello friends! I hope you are having a wonderful evening. I am taking a break from a busy day to share a new grocery day food prep video. Grocery day is a big day in our home. First, its prepping with the list and coupons, then shopping and once but once I get home, the job just starts over. If you want to see what I am taking about, check out the video below!
Many fruits and vegetables are grown with pesticides to get rid of bugs. Plus there is a lot of other outside elements that also matter. Fortunately, you can drastically reduce your exposure to pesticides and bacteria found on produce with a thorough vinegar and water wash. Experts found that a white vinegar and water wash kills 98% of bacteria and removes pesticides.I have been using vinegar for years and it works great on vegetables. You can either make a spray or clean your fruits and veggies as I did in the video above. Here's the recipes:
Vinegar and Water Veggie Spray:
Mix 3 parts water to 1 part white vinegar (3:1 ) in a spray bottle.
Spray on fruits and veggies to get rid of pesticide residue.
Rinse with water after spraying.
-OR-
Fill a sink or a bowl with water and add 1/8 to 1/2 cup of vinegar, depending on the size of your bowl.
Place your fruits and veggies in the bowl.
Soak for 15 to 20 minutes.
Rinse with water and allow fruits and veggies to dry before storing.
I hope these tips help you save money by making your fresh fruits and veggies last longer. :) Be sure to let me know if you have any questions! If you are new here, I'd love it if you took a second to get subscribed! xx
Hello friends! I am back sharing yet another planner with you guys. I love planning because I have seen up close and personal how a organized planner has changed my life. I debated for sometime if I was going to continue sharing planners through out the year with you guys and a lot of you wanted to see more..so here is a look at the Passion Planner. I go through it in detail in the video and below there is a lot more information with pictures and the giveaway form! Hope you enjoy!
So here is a up close look at the compact Passion Planner. This planner is 5.5 x 8.5 and is a good size for a lot of people. This planner is smaller than myInkwell Press Planner or even my Erin Condren planners making it easier to fit in your bag or backpack.
This planner has about 190 pages and has a soft durable faux leather cover with is animal and vegan friendly. It's got smooth high quality 100 gsm thick paper that is resistant to ink bleeding.
The first few pages give you plenty of space to add your post it's or what have you and there is a place on the first inner page to add your information in case your planner is lost. There is a lot of room in this area that you could decorate too. I would probably use this as a dashboard area if I was using this planner.
The first few pages include a lot of information about the planner, how it's set up and how you can use it to prioritize and create a " passion plan " that can change your life. I know that sounds like a lot for a planner, but I know first hand how helpful a organized planner can actually be. So I get it.
Then you move into the 2 year overlook. The calendars in this area do not take up the full page. Instead it is designed where the calendars are at the top with the US Holidays in the middle and then there is a big area on the bottom under each calendar where you make notes about upcoming events and such.
The way the planner flows is like many. You have a monthly spread first and then you have the weeks in between. Simple but efficient layout to keep you in one month at a time. At the top of each monthly page you have a personal and work focus area for items that are most important for you to accomplish for that particular month on the left side. ( Top Left Picture Below ) Also on the left side you have an area for a monthly check in. It reminds you to go back to your Passion Roadmap and highlight any goals you reached or steps you completed. Below that is a blank area for notes to yourself. Then over the two pages is the monthly layout with holidays marked. Below the calendar is areas for you Personal/Passion Projects and Goals with a area at the top for priority projects. Beside that is the same kind of layout for your work projects and goals. Then the rest of the page on the right is a large blank space where you can break down and be creative in reaching your goals.
Moving on to the weekly area...This section looks busy already but it is designed to actually help you through your day. The week starts on Sunday in a horizontal 30 minute breakdown starting at 6am and ending at 1030pm. I really like those hours. A lot of us work into the night so I think that could be very helpful to many. Each day has a area for " Today's Top Focus " that will help you stay focused on the most important task of the day. Then in the left section you a space for the focus of that week and a gratitude section for good things that happened. Gotta say... love that too! Each day has a new inspirational quote that is to help motivate you along with tips to help you reach your goals. The bottom left side of the page contains 6 boxes that has a personal and work to do's listed out by Top Priority, Priority, and a box for errands. On the right side there is another big area for you to add your notes for the week or you could draw, journal and brainstorm.
The planner is set up in that way...monthly layout first...then your weeks and then a new month. Then at the end of every month you have a monthly reflections page that gives you a place to review the month. It has some questions that is designed to help you see the progress you have made.
The back of the planner is fairly simple. There are 20 pages of plain white paper for notes, doodling, brainstorming....anything and then there is 20 more graph pages for you to jot notes down and to do list down and such. There is a pocket on the back where you can put additional papers, notes, stickers, etc.
You can see this is a nice size planner. They do have another size that is larger and also another non dated version too...which works out nice if you are going to jump into a planner mid year. Another thing, I forgot to mention is in the middle of the planner there is a Midyear Passion Roadmap that is a refresher to keep you on track.
I personally think this planner is well through out with lots of descriptive notes that helps you figure out the best way to use it to be as efficient as possible. I like the design and layout and I also like how soft it is. It feels really nice in your hands and the plan black is classic. There are not too many thrills with this planner in terms of color and design but it does have a clean yet busy layout with lots of room additional notes and brainstorming. I also love the quotes in the weekly section and right below is a little task that is simple, kind and inspirational. Its suppose to kinda get you out of your comfort zone and try something new.

Hello friends! I am back sharing a few new products from Inkwell Press. I first discovered Inkwell press through instagram and thought the classic planner would be ideal for me. I was looking to switch out of the Erin Condren just so I could have my day broke down by hours. Fast foward to now and I am in total planner peace with both my Inkwell Press Classic Planner and also the Flex planner for my blog and youtube schedule. So since I love the planners soooooooooooo much, I thought I would share my thoughts on the new journal and notepad. Plus why not do a giveaway!? Have a watch of the video to get a up close look at the notepads.. and there are more pictures along with the giveaway entry form below. Hope you enjoy!
Here's more about the new products...
The first new item from Inkwell Press is this Weekly Kickstart Notepad . This notepad is very handy to roadmap your week out. I like this for busy weeks when I need my family to know what is going on or for weeks I have a lot to add to my planner. Even when you go on holidays with your family you could totally write out the itinerary on this notepad and hang it in the hotel.

The last new item from Inkwell Press that I want to share with you is the new Inkwell Press Journals. I will probably order one eventually though! :)
Right now they have 3 different designs. These little journals would well for organizing your thoughts and has 4 different sections to help. Here's the breakdown on these journals.

So right now I have been using the notepads in my day to day life. I actually shared a picture on instagram sharing some of my Easter prep notes that helped me sail through the day right on schedule!
As with the planners, I think these look more mature than many other planners including the Erin Condren. For me personally, I think they will work better for me. Now because I love to share things I love, I am hosting a giveaway!!

Hello friends! I hope your evening is going well. Since we are moving into a new month tomorrow I thought today I would share a little bit of my planning with you guys. Now please remember, I do not spend this kind of time planning every day. I normally do a big planning session at the beginning of a new month and then fill it in as needed as we go through the days. If planners are not your thing, I totally understand you skipping this video. However, even for you who don't like planners, this might just inspire you!
Planning is so individual and all of us have to find what works best for ourselves and our families. I found while I love the Erin Condren Life Planners the Inkwell Press Planner is really more fitting for my life. I would love to know what you plan with if you care to share! If you are new here I would love it if you took a second to subscribe.
Happy Wednesday friends! I hope you are having a great day. I am back sharing another Planning Sessions video showing you how I am getting ready for this new month. I know many of you guys enjoy planning videos...so sit back and spend some time with me while I go over my monthly planning. Hope you enjoy!
As I mentioned in the video above, you don't have to have any of the items I showed to have a efficient calendar. I think all the stickers and washi tape are great but not necessary. You can totally grab any calendar or organizer with a pen or pencil and get started. I happen to like a little color for reminders and such but you can do everything you need to do by just being minimal. It's not about how to decorate a planner...even though those videos are great. Its about making your life easier for yourself and your family using your planner.
I have tons of other videos that you can check out all my other planning videos right here or on the playlist on my youtube channel. I would love to hear how you plan, what calendars or planners you like best.. if you care like sharing! If you are new here, I'd love it if you took a few seconds and subscribed so you don't miss anything. :)
Hello friends. I hope you are having a great evening. I am staying inside and staying warm on yet another cold winter night. You guys know I love planning and organization. I thought in the spirit of planning, I would show you some of the new items I ordered for my planner. Oddly enough, just yesterday I placed another big order that I will have to share with you on instagram and a vlog maybe. :) In the meantime you can check out my latest planner haul below!
Even though I do have a lot of stickers and washi tape...and even more on the way, I am not over doing it with my planner. The Erin Condren that I was using was a bit too bold and bright for me. All the washi tape and stickers was making my head spin. Now I am being a little more picky on what goes into my new Ink Well Press Planner. In case you are interested here are some of the links to the items I shared in the video above.
Thank so much for stopping by. If you are a blogger or youtuber, I would love to see your planers. Leave me a comment to your most recent planner videos and I will come check them out! I will also maybe share my favorites in a vlog! :) If you are new here, I'd love it if you took a few seconds and subscribed so you don't miss anything. :)
