Happy Weekend!

Happy weekend to you all! I hope you are having a great start to your day. Right now the clock just landed on 12pm and I am still trying to figure out all the day has in store for me. I am not really ready to do anything yet but I know there are errands and to do's waiting on me. Since last night I have been doing a Jane Austen marathon of sorts watching the movies from her wonderful books. Even right now I am finishing Sense and Sensibility and then Mansfield park is next! I don't know if I will watch it right away but it's been fun recounting the novels with the movies. I just realized I don't own the Jane Austen small collection of books and I think I am going to have to order a set just to have and read whenever I want. Perfect for the winter days. Today it's still pretty chilly out not even 40 degrees yet. Yea.. I am for sure waiting a little longer to allow it to warm up before I got out and do anything.

My weekend to do's is pretty simple and who knows how much I will actually get done but here it is in case you are interested! :)

• Finish grocery list and look for coupons before shopping. 
• Wash doggie slobber off sliding glass doors in the living room. I hate dirty windows! 
• Toss laundry around all weekend and try to put each load up as  I fold it. Plus match up like a thousand socks. Grrrrrrrrr. I hate matching socks up!
• Bath all the cats over the weekend. I'm sure they will love that. 
• Schedule Pedicures for Trina and I when she comes up over the Thanksgiving. I think it might be a great weekend escape while the boys are doing their thing. 
• Discard of all the rotting pumpkins that we carved. 
• Clean the dogs bowls. 
• Update the chalkboard walls and white boards throughout the house. 
• Go through and make sure all the windows are locked on the first floor after seeing this story recently. 
• Clean microwave out after Jackson allowed a bowl of Spaghetti O's explode inside. Yea... not so happy about that little job.
• Get rid of all the planters and such outside for the winter months. No reason to look at empty flower pots. To the garage they go! 
• Check voicemails.....sorry if you have left a message... I don't normally check them often. Send text or emails instead or better yet.....call back!
• Update pinterest with new videos and if I have time, make some new pins from older blog posts to share. 
• Run to the Post Office tomorrow. 
• Clean out frig. today. Gosh I hate that job. I am sure it will give me a pile full of dishes to be washed and put away....after I remove the science experiments. ;)
• Read through this article more and take to heart what it says about breaking bad habits. Thanks Kriss for posting it and congratulations on your new house! 
• Have Jackson bring in more firewood. 
• Make basil pesto with all the basil growing in the window. 
• Get packages together to mail. 

Also on my mind lately is my friend who is having to deal with thyroid cancer. We don't know how serious it is yet but I think she is heading to the Cancer Institute of America for treatment. I don't want to say too much because I am sure she hasn't told everyone and its private afterall. I think she might share more on FB and such when she feels the time is right. She is a old dear friend from school, someone I grew up with, someone I truly trust and one of the best people I know. So its hard and its been at the front of my mind for over a week now. I am really worried about her so if you can lift her in your prayers, I am sure she would appreciate it as much as I would. Hopefully I will be able to see her over the holidays when I head to Indiana for Christmas. All I know to do is pray for her and hope like hell the Dr's take very good care of a dear friend who I love. 

Scott won't be home until 7 or 8 tonight which explains my late start to the day. During this blog post alone I have taken 3 calls and made numerous trips to the coffee pot! Plus 4 of little Jackson's friends have showed up to play.  Now its time to plan my grocery trip and get the shopping list done. Not that fun or exciting but totally necessary. I hope you guys have a great day. I will be back later this evening with a new organizational video and tomorrow I will be back with a food haul and prep on Sunday.....stay tuned!

Weekend in Review ( January 31 - February 2, 2014 )

Happy Monday Friends! I think for us, the cold weather has passed on by. Maybe I am just dreaming but yesterday it was 67 and today its 65 right now. Gotta love that! I am amazed at how fast January flew by. It seems like yesterday when I was running store to store to find the perfect Christmas gifts, unloading all the wrapping paper and enjoying holiday music. Its amazing how fast life really does go by. 

Thankful Thursday:{ Mom Talks } It takes a Village

Happy Thursday friends. I feel like I am running behind with everything today but I still wanted to get this post done. I think its important to embrace the things you are thankful for not only each week but each day really. For the longest time I kept a gratitude journal and it really did make a huge difference in my life. Today I am totally thankful for:

The Village that Helps Raise my Kids 

Being a parent has to be the hardest job on earth. I struggle everyday to make the best decisions I can for my kids and I know I could not get through it all with the huge support system that we have around us.

God

I am putting God at the top because I can't even begin to tell you the prayers that I have sent up over my kids. I have prayed for them since the moment I found out they were coming. I have asked God to protect them while showing me the way to be a better parent each day. And I really feel that God is very present in our village of support. I think both of my kids are spiritual and I want them to always love God. They both read the bible and Jackson is learning more and more everyday about God and the scriptures. God is all around us.

family

Our family is totally at the top of the support system and a big part of raising our kids. More specifically My mom is always there to help in any way she can. I don't always agree with her but I really value her love and support. She has a very important role in the the kids lives. Scott's sister Trina is a huge source of support to us too. She has helped in so many ways but most importantly, she has always been there to listen when Scott or I need to talk about the kids. My Sister Laci is growing up right before my eyes and she is no longer a baby. She is a woman with very unique points of view that I totally value. Many times she helps me see things from a new point of view. Don.. my moms partner is always loving and kind with his advice and he is a logical thinker that helps with us emotional women. Also Scotts Step Mother is starting to listen more about the kids and really share her experiences in hopes that it might help. Both Jackson's fathers - His dad and his stepfather are both support systems. I believe both want Jackson happy and will help in anyway the kids need.

friends

Our loving loyal friends have totally helped me. My best friend Shanna has been a life saver over the years in regard to the kids. She hears all my parenting mistakes and issues and never judges. She always is there to give me the most honest straight forward advice that I always need to hear. All of our friends - blog & youtube are wonderful support to our family because they are going through it with us with their own kids. You guys are always so supportive, informative, and honest with me. We all learn from each other.

Teachers

I cannot even express how thankful I am for both of Jackson's teachers this year. Bless them because I know that teaching my son is a bit of a challenge. They are underpaid, overworked, and both of his teachers have been so helpful. I mean... I listen to everything they tell me. They are smart women who work hard with Jackson everyday. I know they take more time out for them than they others. Jackson needs more attention that most kids and I know its not easy. We are in constant contact and for 4 days this week they have let me know that he has been doing super good.. I couldn't be more proud. Brittany makes A's and does so well in school and I am thankful to her teachers too for all they do.

Doctors 

I am also very thankful to the Dr's who have helped our kids from the very beginning. Brittany was a pretty healthy baby but Jackson was born early.. he was so little. Jackson went to the Dr. today and he spent an hour with us talking through Jackson's health. An hour you guys. That says something when we live in such a busy world. I was happy with the care he recieved today and more importantly Jackson liked his new Dr. I don't know how I would do it without the Dr.'s.

I am sure I am leaving people out .. but I am thankful for everyone who is a part of our lives helping raise our kids. I know it takes a village to raise a child and I truly love you guys and thankful for all your love and support.

Tired Grumpy Bitch..

For the last 3 nights I have fallen to sleep around 5am. Then I wake anywhere from 10 am on, and its really messing with me. I normally get more sleep and it seems everything is suffering from it. Honestly, the last 3 nights have been about other peoples drama that trickled down into my family. How unacceptable is that? And truth be told.. these are not even close friends. Thanks to them, I haven't slept.. my husband and I are bickering back and forth and so much is being neglected. Who knows what's going to keep me up tonight!Its been an ok day so far. I got to do a little shopping..I made the most out to the Rite Aid sale and also I had just enough CVS extracare bucks to get a new foundation! I 'll have a video up tomorrow sometime. And I saw Scott just a little while ago at the dealership. Hes been really nice today and hoping the night goes a little easier too. The first two nights was one of my friends and last night it was all about one of his friends. I think the biggest problems is honesty. Maybe its time to just tell the truth to everyone if its not what they want to hear. I am not going to sugar coat anything for anyone at this point in my life and I expect the same. Ugh...All of this is so exhausting. I have enough of my own problems 

I did get my party box in today from Houseparty.com! I already got a video made of me opening it all up and checking it out...which also should be up soon too! You bloggers should really check it out and start signing up because its a wonderful way to try new things, get together with the family and friends, and let face it.. a box full of games is pretty damn cool! You can also check out this post that gives you all the details! I love it.. and know Jackson will love having all those games around! I actually gave Zane the old Monopoly game because I knew this one was coming in. Scavenger Hunt Time!!!

Yesterday I decided to start the summer off with a Scavenger hunt! I use to love doing these and thought it would be a lot of fun and it would also get them out of the house for a while! I decided to pay the winners $10 each and let me tell you now...IT WAS MONEY WELL SPENT! They were out there almost 4 hours hunting for stuff! Like I said.. Well Spent!

their bags and lists they got together and came up with plans on where to find all the items. Some of the stuff they had to take pictures of with their phones.. and I liked the idea they had their phones with GPS with them while they are running around the woods searching for things.

Sunday = House full of L♥ve!

Well Brittany and Art got in safe and sound. I won't lie it was hard getting myself out of the bed this morning. It was cold.. but I got up and got myself together and before I knew it.. a sleepy little girl walked in... but didn't take her long to get goofy! =)

Hellooooo Courtney!

I know its been f-o-r-e-v-e-r since I have posted any new pictures of Courtney, Jake, or the baby so I thought I would take a few minutes and let you know how they are all doing! 

As with us, they have had a busy summer and Courtney has went crazy trying to fit as much in the summer for the boys as she can all while working a lot of crazy hours..

Courtney is always busy.. ( One of the many advantages of living in downtown Charlotte.) Our schedules have both been crazy so we haven't had much time to get the boys together. I am hoping as things start to slow down as fall approaches we will be able to get together soon! I miss you Courtney Lynn!

Late Night WAKING Weather...

Its 330am and I can't sleep.. the thunderstorm is so crazy right now that its next impossible for me to sleep. And thats with sleep meds. Some how husby is right here beside of me and sleeping through it all. I think this time I have been up has actually been good. 

There is a friend that is heavily weighing on my mind and I ended up shooting her an email to the West Coast. I have been meaning to email her for sometime but I never really had the words.. and tonight the email was pretty simple.. I miss you.. and I think its all that needs to be said. It weird because this year of 2012 has been crazy in terms of friends. I can't even begin to explain it all but it has taught me a lot. 

I am crazy loyal to my friends and expect the same back.. Thankfully I am surrounded by the love of friends and family and I couldn't ask for anything more. 

Wow.. the rain is really coming down. Its normally such wonderful weather for sleeping but the dang thunder is crazy loud. Its suppose to rain all week long.. and I bet the boys will be out in it first chance they get! 

Anyway.. I am hoping to get some sleep.. I feel tired and know that tomorrow/today is coming fast and if I don't.. I will be sleepy all day long. Its a late day for Scott tomorrow.. which totally SUCKS.. but Tuesday he is home with us.. ( I hope! )

Wednesday Night Dinner!

Last night we had Scott's boss over for dinner. I wasn't really in the mood to entertain but I just got busy and went with it anyway. It actually turned out pretty nice. The weather was nice enough that we could eat out on the patio and enjoy the beautiful evening.

Wednesday Inspiration

With the way today has started.. this quote is perfect! It seems like everyone around me is having some kind of issue today including myself! ** Deep Breath ** . Life is all about challenges, obstacles, and growing from every experience and NOT GIVING UP. Scott and I are both grumpy.. which is making matters only harder. But I have friends with issues today too. One basically woke up crying.. and my heart breaks over that too. I am not in tears but I am frustrated as hell.. However, husby is trying to win poet of the year with some of the goofy rhymes he is texting me..if I could only post them I am sure you all would get some laughs  but I can't .. too " R " rated! =) I started a early lunch with a pre made strawberry margarita. One thing I can tell you is that even though its was a rocky start the afternoon has been a bag of laughs!

Anyway, no matter how more frustrating the day can prove to be.. I am going to do my best to shake it off and go on. I am not letting this day be a total disaster! I am uncertain that I can even have Scott's boss over for dinner unless I focus on the good. So I have got to try to get my head right and then start cleaning up the first floor really well.

I am also going to try to get some more done on the kids rooms...I am totally excited about picking them up. I know they are just as excited too. Jackson is totally packed up! I am sure I will be going in to make sure he has all his stuff. I am not even sure that at this point he is going back to Indiana to take his sister back in August. I am not sure if he is afraid he will have to stay or just doesn't want to do the long car ride but I kinda want him to go back so he can see his dad before the school year starts. Brittany is packed up for the most part too. We get to see the family too! I can't wait to see my grandmother and Scott's sister and brother.. It should be a really nice trip! I am totally ready to head up there!

Weekend Review - Pic Heavy! -

Hello!! Its been a super busy day for me. I have been working and working on getting the bedrooms done for the kids, getting laundry hung up.. dried.. brought in.. I have done 3 loads.. See the dryer isn't a huge deal to me in the summer but there are days when I do appreciate having one. I am pretty sure Scott found one.. so I am betting we move one in tonight!

LOVE : Home

Hello! Finally home.. and I couldn't be happier. I was going to stay at the Armory till 4:30 but 3pm came around and I was more than ready to come home. Only 3 hours tomorrow and I am DONE!! Yea! It hasn't been that bad either. I made some new friends.. and really its been pretty relaxing almost to the point of boring at times. But its almost over! 

I am sleepy today.. and it even looks like its going to rain tonight again. Lets just hope the power stays on. I sure don't want to miss American Idol tonight! I wonder who is going home tonight. I can't wait to see!! I am already in my pjs.. because that is how done I am. I think if Scott could be home right now.. he would be in his pjs too. He had to go to the hospital today and get those injections in his neck. He drove himself which I didn't like.. but he is tired and not feeling good today. =( I wish he would just be home since he isn't feeling good. You can just hear it in his voice. He won't be off work till after 8pm tonight so it will be 

My friend Courtney's little son turns a month old today!! I can't believe a month has passed since I saw him. I plan on doing a post later and a video.. so stay tuned for a baby update! We don't have a lot of babies around us anymore. We have a little 2 grand daughters.. one born less than a month ago and one that is 2 years old. I have to admit, its fun to dote on them from a distance! I am done with the baby years for myself.. and its fun to play with them.. and then send them home! I guess thats just a part of getting older. But that post will be coming up later tonight! 

Well, I am going to see if there are any coupon posts that I need to catch up on.. love on my kitty cats and maybe take a nap for a while.

Running on Fumes...

Really tired tonight so this is going to be short. Its been a very long day for me. I cleaned up a lot of the house, then once evening came I helped our friend move into his new place. We did it in 2 loads but it did ware me out. Then once Scott and I get home, we both about fall down.. dinner was a very simple peanut butter and jelly for both of us with large cold glasses of milk. I stayed downstairs for a while catching up on American Idol.. then right before I was ready to get in hot bath.. husby gets up out of bed and starts the shower. I just couldn't help but to make him share the hot water.. and I took a bath right at the same time. I know its not really economical or money saving but we keep our hot water turned up the highest it will go. I have found that when we do that, we can take showers at the same time, or I can take a bath while he is in the shower. Works out great for our household. I think it will work out great when the kids are here too.

Tomorrow, I have another busy day. I have to finish getting the house picked up, get things packed for our trip, get the letters to the housesitter done, get cat food, and then we are leaving for Atlanta about 5 pm or so. I think it will take 4 hours or so to get there. I wish we could just stay the weekend but Scott has to do his meeting ( some new Nissan that he is required to go look at and even drive ) and then we are checking out afterwards on Friday and we will be heading back that same night. Really fast trip. I seriously thought about not going but I am sure he wants the company on the ride down there. And we are ever rarely apart anyway so I am going. And so is baby Romeo! And I will still be blogging, just not from the car!

I will be sure to get that up over the weekend for you guys! Its rather an easy look.. but pretty dramatic! Just browns and a little black to smoke it out! So stay tuned for that coming up!

Happy Happy Birthday to one of my west coast friends.. Danielle!! She got the box I sent her yesterday and loved all her gifts! =) Happy Birthday Beautiful! I would post her picture but I think she would KILL me!! And so would her husband! They are much more private than I am.. but she is a great friend.. that I made from THIS BLOG and I just know we will be friends for a very long time!

I am done.. time for sleep.. so tomorrow I can do it all over again!

Sleepy

Wow.. am I sleepy tonight. Just got out of a long hot bath and now laying comfortably in my bed getting ready to start dreaming. It was a pretty good day and I was super happy to see husby after so many hours gone.

Ok.. on to the bigger better news of the day. Our second grand daughter was born today.. Here she is..



This is Harper Ann.. She was born at 1:14 pm and was 7 lb 7 oz and 20.5 inches long. She born 1 day after her big sister was born. Funny they have birthdays so close to each other! Mom and baby are doing great!

Babys all around us right now! How precious! If you want to see the other new baby that came along less than a week ago, you can click here!! Both babies are adorable.. When I hold them, for a second or two.. I want one.. but then I remember what hand fulls my two are and that puts it all in perceptive for me! Plus I am way past the baby and toddler stage and I have to admit.. I like it better now than when they were into everything! So I will just stick to visiting the babies.. that is enough for me!

Tonight was rahter short being Scott and Michael both had to work till 8pm. We all sat down for dinner and I had made

Thanksgiving in April. And it was really good but

not near as good as this yummy

Chocolate Pie!

The sale is going on all week so I won't get to see much of Scott till Sunday.. which I hate but Thursday is husbys birthday so I hope that its a special week anyway!

Today I didn't get near what I wanted done. Hopefully tomorrow will be more productive. I ran to the market today and it seemed like such a long trip. I think I was gone almost 2 hours and felt exhausted when I got home. I didn't even want to cook dinner but I made it happen. Husby was way too tired to go out and he was starving... so in the kitchen I went.

Tired

Just a a quick goodnight. I am tired tonight so I just got out of my very long and relaxing hot bath and already curled up in the bed. Tonight is one of those nights I am sooooo freaking happy husby has his own room. Scott is running around the house tonight like a chicken with its head cut off. I don't know where that mans energy comes from. He has the dog all hyped up and frankly I am way too grumpy to deal with that tonight. I love him dearly but glad he is in the other room tonight!

I got a ton of posts up today so be sure to check them out in the recent posts feed in the → side bar . I would give you guys links to all the post but I am just too wore out. I will do a blogging post sometime Sunday with the weeks top posts. I will also be getting the upcoming Beauty Steals and Deals up tomorrow too. Next week is husbys birthday and also on May 6th I have to get my birthday gift.. my new kitten.. So its going to be an exciting few weeks!

Welcome Baby Sean!!

As promised ( after I talked his mom into it! ) here are some pictures of the newest member of our friends/family!!

This is Sean Michael..

He was born April 17th at 10:59am. 6lbs 10oz. and he was 19 1/4 long!

Hes a little guy and so freaking precious!

This is my favorite picture so far! I love it!! I would just kiss him to death!

He has adorable blue eyes.. and the cutest little smile! Her delivery wasn't too bad.. I don't think. She was texting me and playing words with friends all while dealing with her contractions. I think she went in around 5 or 6pm on the 16th and then had them the next late morning. She looked amazing afterwards too.

He also has a big brother that adores him too! Grandma is here for the rest of the week and I am sure all her help is very appreciated. We all need our moms! ♥
