Day in the Life Vlog: January 23-26, 2015 | I love my Family! | * with To Do's!

Monday, January 26, 2015
Hello friends! I hope you are having a wonderful Monday. As many of you know... I post a week in review recapping what happened over the week & weekend. Its something that I have been doing off and on for years. Its just a simple way to give you guys a glimpse into our week. I have changed up the vlogging schedule where I will be uploading a Day in the life vlog Monday...as always and then another on Thursday. Monday's vlog will cover Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the previous week and Thursdays vlog will be for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Actually I might be adding more vlogs in during the week...depending on how much I vlog.

Here's what went on around here this past week:

Today has already been a busy day for me. I have ran some errands and went to an appointment, kinda picked up the 2nd floor, and devoured a pot of coffee. Actually, I just made a new pot and enjoying another cup right now. So this vlog is a bit long...so if you need to escape some Monday Madness....come spend an hour with us!

At the beginning of the week, there was a lot of planning. I had to get my head together for the busy week that laid ahead. It's amazing the amount of work I do online and in my planners. I never feel caught up but I had a good game plan for us put together. As the days got a little warmer, the nights still have been so cold. Warm fires, hot tea and cozy socks have totally been keeping me and the boys through the winter nights. I am so ready for spring. Speaking of tea, I have been in looooove with the Mighty Leaf tea in Organic Spring Jasmine. Its one of the best teas I have ever tasted. Its a must try if you love tea! Another thing that happened at the beginning of the week was one of our fish...the black one is having some issues. I am not sure what is going on with him but I think he is dying. I bought a lot of stuff to help him but I have noticed much of a difference yet. I think he might be dying. Idk.

Before I knew it, I was dragging out the suitcases and getting us packed up for our Louisiana trip. It wasn't a vacation or anything. We have some issues going on with our son and had to go down to a court hearing. We drove 10 hours one way down there and finally flopped in a hotel bed on Wednesday night and quickly fell asleep. The next morning we got up and headed to the court house. I can't really speak of the details but I will say things went better from expected. We were able to see him and hold him. It was so much better than expected. Right after the hearing we were back in the car and heading home. I love Atlanta at night. Its such a big city that goes on and on. It's quiet a beautiful city. We were so thankful when we got into town and then even more grateful when we saw our house. I am not a fan of living here but it sure felt good to be home. Cooper was so happy.. all the kitty cats were smelling all our stuff and purring non stop. It was a big love fest and then we all settled into our beds ( it was after midnight ) and we just needed to relax in our own spaces for a while. After all, being cooped up in a car for 2 days is always harder than what it sounds. If you want to see the vlog from the trip... it's right here. Friday it started raining and never stopped. Scott went to work and Jackson had school but I took the day to catch up on computer work while it poured down. The rain certainly did nothing in terms of motivation.

Saturday I got myself together, got a list of the things we really needed and headed out. I really am trying to be more simplistic and not buy as much. It's not easy though. I was thinking about clutter and how I have been doing my best to get rid of things but then I had a light bulb moment...it's ok to keep stuff....just not in the hoarder kind of way. I mean, it has taken me 39 years to gather the stuff up that I like and love. So instead of tossing a lot of it out, I might just have to reorganize it better. :) But I am still all for decluttering....but just sensible.

Sunday came around and we all just had the most lazy, relaxing family day. It's nice when we are all here together. Sometimes it is hard though being the only girl in the house! But we had a great time just hanging out...playing games, watching movies, talking and having a nice dinner together. Scott works so late most week nights that we don't get to have a sit down dinner together. During the school year, I have to make sure Jackson has dinner earlier than 8:30 so...last night we were all able to sit down and eat together. I loved it with the exception of how slow my pickey eater eats. Where it takes us about 20 minutes to eat dinner, little Jackson normally takes double that. As the night came upon us, I so enjoyed Downton Abbey in front of a warm crackling fire. It was the perfect way to end the weekend!

Week in Review Oct 13- 19, 2014 w/ Day in the Life Vlog & To Do's

Monday, October 20, 2014

Hello friends! I hope you are having a wonderful Monday. As many of you know... I post a week in review recapping what happened over the week & weekend. Its something that I have been doing off and on for years. Its just a simple way to give you guys a glimpse into our weekend. I also vlogged a little each day which you can see in the video below. I have been trying to move all my video's to my main channel including the vlogs but for right now I am uploading them to both channels. I think that is the best way to do it right now but eventually they will probably all move to my housewife life main youtube channel. I hope you don't mind but I have been trying to figure out a way to make everyone happy. I don't expect you to watch them twice but now you will be able to find my vlogs on both channels. ↓Here it is↓ Hope you enjoy! More pictures and info below!

This Past Week:

Hello friends. I hope you are having a great Monday. I got a little later of a start again today but I am not worried about it. I figure the house isn't in a hurry for me to clean it up so I will work on that later this afternoon and evening. Scott doesn't even get home most nights until after 8pm so that does give me extra time to get things done. So the weather here today is pretty. Over the past few days we have had rain, thunderstorms, and even tornado sirens going on and off from time to time. Leaves have been falling off the trees a little faster than what I want. I love fall but I know in a matter of weeks, I am going to be freezing! I hope wherever you are, you are enjoying all the fall beauty. Even you floridians! Scott enjoyed his time at home Sunday. It was his first day off since starting his new job. I wasn't crazy about the dealership where he ended up. I am a Volkswagen fan through and through so I wanted him to stay there!! I am also a Nissan fan but he is at neither of those stores. I don't tell where yet, but its a big store and its selling a ton more cars than the Volkswagen store. So maybe it was the right move. However, he is coming home exhausted after working such long hard hours. And more cars mean more money so I am just doing my best to keep my big mouth shut! And over all he does seem happier. So that matters more than anything.

As the week went through, I stayed busy trying to use my planner and new schedule to get back on track and get more things accomplished. Its been hard... I am still not fully into the new school year but each day I am getting things cleaned up and organized. Plus I have been giving myself more time to get my mind cleared and centered. I talk a little more about it in my Sunday Inspiration post. Its a process. I can't just let myself lay around depressed and or angry and have a happy life. So staying busy has been a big key to losing all those negative thoughts. And when they do pop up, I am trying harder to control them by bringing myself back to a happy thought or memory. It might silly but it has helped. I am just my best to stay present and take each day at it comes without worry or hesitation.

By time the weekend came and I thought Jackson and I could use the time to check the PO Box and do some shopping. He is almost 12 and doesn't always want to go run errands and go shopping with mom. But I got him out of the house and we had a really nice time out. If you want to check that food haul out click right here.

We spent the rest of the weekend at home enjoying time with the animals.. Cooper is really starting to workout more and lose a little weight. We'll find out at his next Vet appointment. A s you can see in the picture Willow was just wanting my attention. She moved all around while I was filming part of the vlog and just wanted to be noticed. I thought it was super cute! We finished Saturday night off with chocolate chip pancakes which totally hit the spot. We don't get up most mornings and have a big breakfast so we try to have it for dinner every couple of weeks. Its totally one of Jackson's favorite meals.

Also over the weekend, I got a blog facelift. I seriously drove this woman crazy but she was nothing but sweet to me. I am so thankful for all her help. We did go back to my wide white background but that is the only way I can have larger pictures and videos. Plus the blue strip I loved that was the background made a few family members complain it hurt their eyes. So taking that into account, we just used some of her accents on this blog. It was a lot of work for her because I kept making changes as I went. But I totally love her work and appreciate all her help. And I hope you like you the new look! I just wanted more color...and I guess a header is about the only way I am going to get it!

Last night I was in the shower and bed pretty early but not without a yummmmmy cup of eggnog. Even if you are someone who has never had and think its awful.....try it again. It is like heaven on my tongue. I love it. And you can only really get it in these cooler months so put it on the grocery list and enjoy it while you can! The Southern Comfort is amazing. There is no alcohol unless you put some in. So its great for the kids too!

It was overall a very nice weekend. I enjoyed having us all here together at the same time yesterday. Scott really does work a lot and is not home that much. I wish the 2 weeks he was home before he took this job we could have enjoyed it more instead I worried the entire time. And now I miss him. What gives?  I was just happy we all had a great Sunday together. Oh we also checked out another house in the same area here but without a peeping tom. So yea.. we just might be moving next months but we would still be in the same neighborhood.

  • Go through bags of mail that came from the post office...Sigh.
  • Finish the last couple of loads of laundry today.
  • Update chalkboard walls.
  • Get busy on the weekly cleaning and try to get it done in 1.5 hours not 2 hours. Wish me luck!
  • Quick clean up of the frig.
  • Give Scott a really nice back rub to say I love you.
  • Finish planning the week out... including videos and blog posts.
  • Scoop cat boxes. YUCK!
  • Food prep some meals for the week.
  • Freshen up fresh flower water.
  • Call Jackson's School.
  • Pick a day to catch up with old friends who left Voicemails that I never returned....sorry.
  • Quick wipe down of leather furniture that I didn't get done last week.
  • Trim back herbs and dry basil.
  • Dust ceiling fans off... a job I truly hate.
  • Remove ashes from the fire place and get it ready for the next cold night.
  • Make time to call and check in on my mom.
  • Wipe down inside of the car....its looks messy!
  • Continue to mediate in the mornings and find peace first thing to carry through the day with me.
  • Whiten teeth.....which I seriously hate.
  • Clean out the pictures on my phone....to make it run faster.
  • Go pumpkin picking and having a family carving night.
  • Check emails and respond to comments.

Here's some information to take along the week with you!

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you all have a beautiful and blessed week. I would love to hear how last week went for you if you care to share!

Weekend in Review - Oct 3-6, 2014 w/ Day in the Life Vlog! - Trying to find Normality -

Monday, October 6, 2014

Hello friends! I hope you are having a wonderful Monday. As many of you know... I post a week in review recapping what happened over the week & weekend. Its something that I have been doing off and on for years. Its just a simple way to give you guys a glimpse into our weekend. I also vlogged a little each day which you can see in the video below. I have been trying to move all my video's to my main channel including the vlogs but for right now I am uploading them to both channels. I don't expect you to watch them twice but now you will be able to find my vlogs on both channels. This week however, I just did a simple weekend vlog....↓Here it is↓ Hope you enjoy! More pictures and info below!

This Past Week:
October is a great and busy month for us. We start out in the first week with Laura's Birthday! She is adorable and I swear she's totally my child! She just turned 25 and is learning and growing everyday. She is a married mom of 2.....soon to be 3 and we couldn't be prouder. She just started blogging.....if you want to check her out more, click right here! :) She lost her grandfather today and could use some pick me ups if you can stop by and leave her a comment.

Speaking of daughters my little Brittany Belle is practicing hard for her cheer-leading competitions. I am also very proud of her good grades, cheer-leading and growing into a lovely young lady. I put a little ♥ by her in the pictures below so you would know which she is!

I hate our family being so spread out. I really do. I wish I could gather them all up and move to Florida or Hawaii. No joke. That would totally make me happy. I doubt I would ever move back up north but I would love for all of us to be together. I really want my older son to get to know the rest of  the kids but he's still not ready. Hopefully in the future we will have everyone together in spot at the same time.

Jackson this past week did pretty well. He is super hyper and when he doesn't take his medication he can wear you out pretty fast. But his progress report was pretty good and hes trying to do more and more to help around the house. He even vacuumed the 2nd floor this past weekend! Wooooooo-hooooooo! I love the help! He is also celebrating his 12th birthday this month on the 23rd...and specifically asked for no party. :)

This past week, I have worked hard to be more of a team player with my family. Its not something that comes easy for me but I think that's a big part of our problem. I grew up with all independent strong willed, loud, women and I don't surrender easy. I feel like I wear the pants most of the time and I think its time I try to let Scott take the lead more. I am trying to see us as a team and not the opposites that we are. We love each other and I think we are both committed to keeping our marriage, home, and family together. Even on the hard days, if I approach it with grace and not fear, I think I will feel better about myself and my marriage. So baby steps.
  • Start following new schedule......and stick to it!
  • Meditate daily.
  • Call Laura and check in on her.
  • Finish putting out the fall decorations.
  • Put up the pile of laundry waiting on me.
  • Round up September Favorites
  • Continue Coopers Workouts and diet regime.
  • Take less phone calls.....Today is a test day with that new schedule. I noticed I have fallen off due to phone calls. No joke. I seriously need to answer the phone less..and make less calls myself.
  • Menu Plan for next week
  • Answer Emails & YT Comments.....sorry I am so behind with answering back! I'm trying.
  • Trim back basil...it grows faster than I can get it used!
  • Call Houseparty.com and try to get something fixed.
  • Clean 1st floor windows
  • Tell Scott and Jackson a new reason I love them everyday. ♥
  • Do updates on computer....BTW....I took the newest computer back, you know my 2nd laptop in a week and I am back on my beloved Sony Vaio. I just wasn't happy with either.
  • Clean the ceiling fans.
  • Go check the PO Box before they get mad at me for the piled up mail waiting on us to pick up.
  • Pull recipes from old magazines before burning them in the bonfire this coming weekend.
  • Finish my newest Kabbalah Book
  • Film everyday this week!
  • Get big load of firewood. I found ablaze in our area that is very reasonable and came in the evening hours and even stacked it for us. We did help....but we didn't have to. He was super nice and its about time to call him again.
  • Order some more cute post it notes.....super cheap and super cute!
  • Call and make Cooper a Vet appointment for a check up later this week.
  • Pre make Jackson's breakfast for this week....TODAY. → Going to film...stay tuned.
  • Send pictures to get printed out. I love we can do that online now and just pick up the pictures later!
  • Empty out the ton of change floating around in the bottom of my purse....and I wonder why its always so heavy. I probably have $25 in there.
  • Update Videos on Pinterest Boards
  • Make Cupcakes
* Just a side note....Your comments on this video were some of the best most heartwarming comments ever. I have read them more than once and feel so inspired by your love and support. Thank you guys so much.
Here's some inspiration to take along the week with you....
