Hello friends! I hope you are having a wonderful evening. I am back saying hi and sharing a new day in the life vlog! The vlogs on the week in reviews are always so long that I thought I would just go back to sharing 2 vlogs in one week. I know many of you guys enjoy these videos even though they are not always exciting but it's our lives....take it or leave it. Hope you enjoy.
Thank you for all the sweet comments on youtube re Cooper. You guys seem to be as devoted to your animals as we are. Cooper is not dying or anything but he is very uncomfortable and we are just trying to prevent a lot more trouble in the future. It's a constant struggle but one day at a time right!?
Thanks so much for stopping by. It's been a busy day of just doing random jobs around the house. I am kinda sleepy right now but I am going to move forward right into the kitchen soon to get dinner under way. Jackson came home with a few not so good grades on his mid terms so we are dealing with that. It's so hard to motivate a child when they really dislike school. I think he is going to have to suck it up, do the work and learn it otherwise it's going to be an extremely hard year for him. Right now he is grounded from all internet and we are going to have a talk with his teachers. But really he is the only one who can do it. I think we are going to have a long talk tonight about better study habits, organizing the back pack better and see why he is struggling so much. It breaks my heart but I honestly think a lot of it is Jackson just being lazy and not doing what he has to do. We will not give up though. :)
Anyway, I need to wake up and move on into the evening. Thanks for stopping by! I'll see ya tomorrow. xx
Hello friends! I hope you are having a wonderful Monday. As many of you know...I post a week in reviewrecapping what happened over the week & weekend. Its something that I have been doing off and on for years. Its just a simple way to give you guys a glimpse into our week. I have changed up the vlogging schedulewhere I will be uploading a Day in the life vlog Monday...as always and then another on Thursday. However this week, I am only sharing one vlog. Hope you enjoy!
This past week:
I kinda feel that this past week, my online mojo slowed down. I wasn't feeling well for the beginning of the week. I even made a Dr. Appointment for Monday. Nothing big happened but I did get a new Epi Pen so hopefully I won't die from all the bees around. With all the fairs and such going on right now they seem to be out more and I am just over trying to cure myself. It just won't work. Also while at the Dr. Office my car got hit in the parking lot. It was an elderly man who just didn't see me. It wasn't that bad so I ended up getting back in the car and heading to the dealership instead of calling the police. It made the day longer than expected for sure.
The rest of the week, I really didn't feel that good. I felt like I might have caught something while at the Dr. but I felt kinda ill since Monday's appointment. Tuesday I stayed in my pjs most of the day and lounged around the house. Scott had to work so I wasn't in a hurry to do anything. The same goes for Wednesday and Thursday too. Actually by Wednesday I was back in y busy planner and tried making up for all the time I had wasted laying around. Actually Wednesday night I went walking around the neighborhood with a neighbor friend just to get in some extra steps and exercise.
By the time the weekend showed up I was feeling a little better. Friday I stayed busy around the house trying to get things cleaned up around the house. I didn't really feel like going out and our house needed a little work. By time Saturday rolled around, I wanted to get out and enjoy some sunshine. Jackson and I loaded up Cooper and took off to a local state park. We hiked and let the dog swim and just enjoyed the beautiful day. We got back home in the late evening and Scott ended up taking us out to dinner for a burger and some family time. Jackson got himself into trouble on Saturday morning with his online choices and we really wanted to make sure he knew we loved him and we were not really punishing him except for the internet. We headed into...
It was actually a pretty fun bright place. They had games and they also had a ice cream and cookie bar. I had never been there before but found the food delicious and we had nice time.
On Sunday, we all kinda slept in but I decided that it would be fun to go back to the state park with Scott and find another trail to go walk. It was pretty warm here yesterday so we waited till later in the afternoon to go.
See how pretty it was back there on that trail. It went on for almost 7 miles but at the 2 mile mark and turned around and came back. I am just not ready for 2 miles of hiking mostly uphill. Hopefully one day soon I will be able to do it but it wasn't yesterday. After 4 miles uphill, down hill, through the woods...I was wore out and tired. My legs felt like jello but I know it was good for us. There wasn't much water on that trail for Cooper to play in but we ended up going back to the same spot where he swam on Saturday and just let him cut loose. He had such a fun time.
Splish Splash...and the end result was a muddy smelly dog. :) But he was happy! I don't think life gets better for a golden retriever than some water and a stick. We made it back home right as the sun was setting and we all were in our beds by 9:30pm. That hike wore us all out. It was next to impossible for me to get the vlog saved and the uploaded started before I fell to sleep but thankfully the tv woke up me up and I got it uploading before anyone in the house was out of the bed this morning. :)
Here's a few things that I want to get done this week:
:: Sign Scott up for more classes that he has to take for a personal matter.
:: Menu plan and grocery shop...a job I have been putting off.
:: Pre Buy the new Cinderella movie. I can't wait to see it!
:: Weekly Cleaning....TODAY!
:: Start figuring out a gift for my sisters birthday at the end of the month.
:: Whiten teeth...something I hate hate hate doing.
:: Prepare Jackson's new white board.
:: Clean up files on computer.
:: Continue morning walks/run on the treadmill.
:: Clean out frig.
:: Water plants
:: Order some new books.
:: Get Lauras heavy box to the Post office Tuesday when Scott can help get it in.
:: Find more items around the house to purge and get rid of. Goodbye clutter!
:: Fill up bird feeders
:: Dust all the blinds through out the house.
:: Brush out Cooper
:: Answer Comments
:: Make planner time and figure out what the week ahead holds.
:: Drink more water....and less soft drinks.
:: Figure out some family fun for next weekend.
Here's some inspiration to take with you along the week:
I have been running behind today. Seriously behind because of the phone calls. But who cares...I still have many hours before Scott will be home and I have a helper today so we should be able to knock things out pretty fast. I hope you guys have a great weekend. Thanks for stopping by! xx
Hello friends! I hope you are having a wonderful day. :) I'm sorry I didn't have this video go live at midnight but it was a long day and I was really tired last night. So anyway, I am back with a very pet friendly review and giveaway that will help either your barking dogs or your neighbors barking dogs! If you guys have watched me for any length of time, you would know I hate how my neighbors dogs barking all the time. Well, there is something out there to help. This review/giveaway was very hard to do for us because testing it out on our dog was a challenge being he is very obedient. But we did try it out on him a few times and you can see in the video below how he responds. Everything you need to know is in the video and there are more pictures, information and the giveaway form below. Hope you enjoy.
So what did you guys think of the video and product? When I shared this product and upcoming video in a vlog so many of you seemed interested in this product. So lets check it out:
Here is the stand alone Bark Genie from First Alert. I was sent this product and the one below to review and host a giveaway so you guys can try it out too. Here's more about it:
Stop annoying barking anywhere with the Bark Genie™ automatic bark control device. The Bark Genie™ bark control device automatically detects barking and reacts by emitting a high-pitched ultrasonic sound that only dogs can hear. Perfect for all environments, the Bark Genie™ automatic bark control device makes it easy to control barking.
Automatically detects barking and reacts by emitting an ultrasonic sound that only dogs can hear
Pet friendly ultrasonic technology is safe and effective
The Bark Genie™ automatic bark control device can stand alone, hang on a tree or be mounted on any wall
Weatherproof for use indoors or outdoors
Detects barking up to 50 feet away
3 adjustable levels of sensitivity
Great for your noisy neighbor's dog
Works on all dog breeds
For us, we tried this out at the front door to see how Cooper would respond to it when barking. It's perfect for dogs to bark a lot when people come in or out..and this automatic where it the sound comes when it picks up the first bark. However, for us we really don't have issues with Cooper barking at the front door. But we do have neighbors with dogs who bark a lot. So I took this very handy Bark Genie outside to the back porch to see how well it would work. I am out on the patio all the time either working in the flowers, talking on the phone, or even enjoying a meal out there. And this Bark Genie has made all the difference. I love that it has the different sensitivity levels because it takes the highest level to get those barkers to calm down. But it works and I am so happy that we have a more peaceful back yard now. :)
Here is the other product I was given to test out. This is the hand held Bark Genie that works great for on the go and also for training. Here's more about it:
Stop annoying barking anywhere with the Bark Genie™ handheld bark control device. With a simple press of a button, the Bark Genie™ handheld bark control device emits an ultrasonic sound that deters the dog from barking. It is safe and pet friendly and emits a sound that only dogs can hear.
Stop unwanted barking with the push of a button
Pet friendly ultrasonic technology is safe and effective
Take the handheld Bark Genie™ handheld bark control device anywhere you go to deter unwanted barking
Weatherproof for use indoors or outdoors
Works up to 15 feet away
Works on all dog breeds
This product was a little more easy to test out on Cooper. Did you see int he video above how he responded: It really does get a barking dogs attention fast.
When Scott was hitting the button, Cooper just stopped and looked annoyed at the noise radiating from the handheld bark genie. Again, its hard to do on an obedient dog but I wanted you guys to see for yourselves that it does work and will help quiet your dog and it will also help a lot in training. When using this as a training device, you really need to correct them with the right tone and words while hitting the Bark Genie button. I promise you...it will make a difference if you follow through with your commands. It actually works without the commands but if you are trying to teach your pet not to jump or pull while walking, all you would do is push the button...correct the behavior verbally and follow through each time, changes will happen fast.
I was so impressed with these products. My mom even tested it out and seemed to like it a lot with her yappy dogs. And I love the big unit to keep the barking down with the neighbors dogs. The good thing is, its totally pet friendly. It will not hurt them in anyway and the dogs simply don't like the high pitch sound. It gets their attention fast. So would you like to try it on your pet at home or your loud neighborhood pets?
Bark Genie is sponsoring a giveaway where one of YOU will win a Bark Genie just like the ones I showed you in the video above! 8 winners will receive the stand alone Bark Genie and 8 other winners will receive the hand held Bark Genie! This giveaway will go on from today - July 21, 2015 through April 4, 2015. Use the form below to get entered. You must be 18 years of age to enter. There are lots of ways to earn extra points too! :) If you are interested in going ahead and buying either of these Bark Genie products you can find them at your local Walmart and you can also find them online.
Thank you guys for stopping by today! I really hope this giveaway helps you and your furry friends. Sometimes Rafflecopter experiences technical difficulties. If you can’t enter for some reason, try again later and it will probably work. If not, let me know and I'll see if I can help. All the giveaways are meant to give back to you guys for coming around and sharing our lives with us. Good luck to everyone. ♥
Hello friends! I hope you are having a wonderful Monday. As many of you know...I post a week in review recapping what happened over the week & weekend. Its something that I have been doing off and on for years. Its just a simple way to give you guys a glimpse into our week. I have changed up the vlogging schedule where I will be uploading a Day in the life vlog Monday...as always and then another on Thursday. However this week, I am only sharing one vlog. There was just not that much going on. I actually debated putting this up, because it's kinda emotional at certain parts. Just know that I am forging on with a new day and a new week. Hope you enjoy.
Here's more about our week: I don't really know how things got on tilt since vacation. But during and since there have been a bunch of emotional stuff that has happened. I keep trying to figure out why but I am kinda lost with the answer. At this point, I am just trying to enjoy a fresh week knowing that Brittany will be here next week and the week after Jackson will be home for school. I couldn't be more happy. I miss them both terribly and its felt so strange not having either of them around. Brittany's visit is a bit short but she is extremely busy with cheer camp and she starts school before Jackson. The kids schedules are so different. Another frustrating part of life right now. They both have been keeping busy. Brittany is always with her girlfriends and they are so freaking cute. I loved the efficient way they were all doing each others hair. I love it. And Jackson has been doing all the boy things he loves to do. He's been fishing and hunting... all the things I don't really do. At least he can spend his summer getting some of that stuff out of his system. Around here, its all about school and stuff that doesn't involve killing anything. Yea... it's going to happen in our home. But his Dad does a great job of getting all that stuff done in the summer. I can't wait for him to come home. Since it's been a lot of quiet time around the house, it's totally been all about the kitty cats. They are so cute and I love cuddling up to them. Romeo is is as cute as ever only really being awake a few hours during the day. Right now he is laid out in the middle of the living room floor sleeping like the big baby he is.
Gabby is still eating llike a lion. She is the smallest cat in our family and eats more than the others. It makes no sense to me. However, Scott thinks it's kinda a silly concern but I do think I will end up taking her to the Vet. She might check out all normal but it will make me feel better knowing her tests are clear. I am not in a huge emergency time table so I might wait a week or so but I think its time for a Gabby checkup. She doesn't need her shots but maybe a physical would be a good start. Plus she is the oldest too.
Since we have gotten home from vacation life has felt kinda different. I am not sure why either. But it's been a struggle to get back to a normal routine. Everything kinda feels off. I think a lot of it is missing the kids. It's hard being away from them. Scott and I have been bickering a little more and its not just rainbows and smiles all the time. Real life is messy and complicated. I am just hoping it all gets back to normal soon. ♥
I did get a new book this week....
It was recommend from Amazon and the reviews are really good. I thought it might be an interesting read. Have any of you read it? I haven't even opened the book yet but I am kinda excited. You can find the authors blog right here..The Inspired Room in case your like me and haven't heard of it yet!

Thanks for stopping by. I am trying to change my energy around and have a better week. I hope you guys have a great week. Let me know how things have been going...I'd love to hear from you. ♥ If you are new here, get subscribed!
Hello friends! I hope you guys are having a wonderful Thursday. I wasn't feeling good last night and woke up this morning still feeling like crap. So I jumped out of bed and headed to the Dollar Store for some Advil around 9am and then got right back into the bed and stayed there until just a few minutes ago. Yea... so you can see I am not having the best day. I am feeling a little better now but I am really really sleepy. I was up so much last night tossing and turning and the medicine is making me tired too but we are going on with the day regardless if my body likes it or not. So I normally vlog a little each day throughout the week and break it up betweeen 2 vlogs. I will also be sharing a new day in the life vlog on Monday for the remainder of this week. So here's what's been going on the last few days.
So it's going to be a busy day of sorts for me. Basically I have laid in bed all day not feeling good and now I am going to get going and probably not stop until late tonight. Unless I start feeling bad again. I am just going to keep dosed up on Advil and hope I can take care of my home and family tonight. Speaking of my family, I have to head down to the dealership in about an hour to be a part of a very important phone call. So gotta get cleaned up and head out. I'll see you guys in a bit. xx
Hello friends! I am quickly back tonight sharing a new kitty cat freebie! For a limited time you can head here andclick on ‘Try a Bowl‘ to request a FREE Purina Fancy Feast Broth Cat Food Sample! Romeo loves this food...hurry before the samples all get taken!
Monday's vlog will cover Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the previous week and Thursdays vlog will be for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Actually I might be adding more vlogs in during the week...depending on how much I vlog. This time there is 2 ditl vlogs! :)
Oddly enough this past week, the beginning was so much better than the weekend. It works out that way sometimes I guess. If you haven't seen it yet, here is the ditl vlog from the beginning of the week.
Here is the latest DITL Vlog. This shares our weekend with you guys. Of course, I don't show you every moment but this vlog is a bit long. :) I tend to ramble so if you want to escape your Monday for an hour or so.. enjoy this new vlog. ↓ Sorry for the lack of editing in some parts...I was really tired.
Around here the weather this past week has been nuts. One minute it has been bright and beautiful and then the next minute the lights are flickering from all the rain and thunderstorms. I love the rain but it has been a little harder getting out and doing things or even finding motivation to get things done around the house. I would rather enjoy a cup of tea and a good book instead of doing what I should be doing around the house. Speaking of good books, I recently got another new read → The Residence ← by Kate Andersen Brower which is amazing. I haven't made it very far through the book but so far it is a great read. It's been so fun reading about the inner workings of the White House. I will totally have to do a giveaway on this book because it has quickly became a favorite! Also in our latest vlog I talk a lot about Oreo the outside kitty cat who lives all over the neighborhood. Thank you guys for all your love and support over this kitty cat. One part of me wants to take it to a no kill shelter and the other part of me knows that it's not my cat and it's not my decision. I probably won't do anything but feed it.. which I know a few of you guys feel like I shouldn't be doing. However, I just hate to see it hungry...and it will meow non stop at the patio door wanting its meals. So I don't know...time will tell but I appreciate all the love for Oreo!
The week consisted of meeting new friends while I was out and about with Scott. That beautiful Macaw was so chatty and fun to hang out with. I worked online while the rain came down on other days. It's been a weird week to say the least. I got a bunch of stuff in the mail...some I will be sharing in a upcoming haul but I had share the April Ispy Bag because I love it so much!! It's adorable and I plan on keeping this one! Sometimes I give them away to friends and family but this Bohemian bag is right up my alley! Another beauty item that showed up this week was a new Bare Minerals starter kit. I want to give it a try again....years ago I used it but didn't stick with it. I thought for spring and summer days at home, this might be nicer than a full face of foundation. I don't think it will hold up in the heat well but maybe with that primer it will. I also decided to order the matte foundation to see if I like it better than the original. So far I am enjoying it though! :) I plan on filming a get ready with me featuring the Bare Minerals products in the upcoming weeks.
This weeks to do’s
Figure out what to buy mom for Mothers Day. She is a wonderful mom whom I adore so I can't mess up! ;) Plus we got Mothers Day around the corner too.
Water plants.
Groom all the kitty cats one day this week.
Pre record as many videos as I can just to make things easier.
Clean the house on Wednesday. For the first time in years I have switched the day I do my weekly cleaning. Not sure how it's going to work out but I think it might be easier that way. I still have to do a big pick up on Monday after all of us being home over the weekend but trying something new this week.
Get my water intake up. I still don't really like it but I'm trying.
Clean up the DVR...a weekly job!
Plan and roadmap the week out. See...I am running behind with so much.
Schedule a manicure and pedicure. I am sure my nail lady is going to hate what I did to my nails but it was time for a break.
Make more time to read.
Figure out what spring polish I want to paint my nails with. When they are shorter I don't mind color.
Try to get to bed earlier.
Dump videos and photos from my phone to make room.
Send Lacis card out...sorry sis! I forgot to get it into the mail this morning. It's coming though!
Get a hair cut.
Try to not let negative energy effect me as much.
Fertilize the plants around the house.
Catch up on Emails.
Call some nursery's around town for some new lavender plants. Why are they so hard to find? Normally it's a easy plant to find but this year it has proved to be challenging.
Play a board game with Jackson. Hes needs some mom time.
Still need to clean my makeup brushes.
Finish Thank you notes.
Update laptop with driver updates and such.
Little Blessings
♥ Jackson did great at his golf lesson and seems to like it...which made me happy.
♥ Our new fish are doing well so far. I thought for sure that one was dead the other day but it was just sleeping I guess. I love watching them swim around.
♥ Hearing the thunder and watching it rain. It's a blessing within itself.
♥ Hearing both kids giggle always puts my ♥ in the right place and makes me proud they are such loving happy kids.
♥ Speaking of kids, our oldest daughter and her family drove down to Florida a few days ago. Saying we are worried about them is a understatement but I was very happy to know they made it safe and sound.
♥ Watching Romeo run and play. There is something magical about that cat and watching him in full motion is a blessing for sure.
♥ Talking to my sister and girl friends is such a blessing. They are such strong amazing women. I couldn't be more grateful for them.
Here's some motivation to take with you along the week:
Thank you guys for stopping by. I hope you have a beautiful blessed week. I don't have a lot planned to do outside of the house but I do have a lot going on at home. Lots of little jobs I want to get finished. I have a bunch of little areas that I want to declutter and organize. I hope you guys are having a great Monday. ♥ If you are new here, I'd love it you took a second to subscribe!
Hello friends! I hope you are having a wonderful Monday. As many of you know...I post a week in review recapping what happened over the week & weekend. Actually I might be adding more vlogs in during the week...depending on how much I vlog.
So this past week I posted two day in the life vlogs. The beginning of the week is the bottom video and the top video is the most current day in the life vlog. It was pretty much a weekend at home but home is where I am happiest! :)
Here's part 1 ↓
Here's what's went on around here the past few days:
Saturday my Brittany Belle had a cheerleading banquet. She spent the night with her friends to get ready the next day. All the girls were excited about getting dressed up to see who got what awards. Brittany is the shortest of the bunch in the pink dress. ♥
She also got the Cheerleader of the year award which was totally amazing. I am so very proud of the young lady she is. Smart, strong, kind, and even athletic. I don't know where the sports and such came from but she enjoys it and is doing so good. Her father and I both love her so much. Its great that she is so active and also making a ton of friends along the way.
Also on Saturday I finally ran to the post office. It's not close to us so sometimes I wait a little long in between visits. But I received some beautiful birthday cards and stickers from some amazing subscribers/friends.
I received a letter from a 67 year old subscriber whom wrote me the most beautiful letter. I sat there and read it line by line. It was kinda and it really touched my heart. For a while now, I have been considering leaving youtube. But it's friends like her and all of you guys that has been keeping me there. I love you guys. Thank you for thinking of me and sharing your lives too. I don't know where this youtube life is going to go but I am so blessed because the friends I have made a long the way.
It was a slow start around here yesterday. I did my best to ignore all the sleeping animals and people. I mean it's hard to get motivated when the entire house is quiet. I didn't mind Scott sleeping because I know he works hard long hours and needed the rest. Jackson too for that matter. But I am sure he will get plenty of rest next week when he is on spring break. But Sunday seemed to be family rest day around here.
I didn't let it stop me though. I worked upstairs for a couple of hours and got it cleaned up. I love getting as much of the weekly cleaning done over the weekend to make my Monday's easier. All I have to do up there today is change the bedding and vacuum which makes me VERY HAPPY! I also picked up a lot on the first floor and even made some time in the evening to get on the treadmill. I do not enjoy it at all but I am feeling a little better because of the exercise. I know I am sleeping better and I think it's making my joints and muscles feel a little better. I haven't been snap crackling and popping as much going down the stairs. That's the main reason for the walking. Sure, loosing a few pounds would certainly be nice and probably helpful but I just want my body to feel better.
As Sunday night wore on, I kinda lost my patience with my husband. It's not always easy. Sometimes I feel like banging my head against the wall. I know that patience and forgiveness is something I have to work on with him. After so much time together, I feel like I know pretty much everything about him and having patience at this point is hard. But it's something I need to work on. I am reminded with the quote below that as I get older I should have more patience that will help me forgive. Marriage is ever changing and requires so much work that I never expected.
But you live and you learn. You fight for what's right and what you love and everything else should fall into place. I want a life with no problems...happiness all the time but if that was the case, how would I grow? It's the challenges and problems that really teaches us and builds character. So here's to a new week of fresh starts...new days...new experiences and new lessons.♥
This weeks to do’s
Try to work on having more patience....something that is so hard to grasp sometimes.
Keep getting to bed earlier and earlier...it's been working here lately.
Go through my makeup and declutter. A job I have the hardest time with.
Figure out what cruise excursions I want to go on.
Get nail fixed...it broke and my nails never break...NOT HAPPY.
Check in on mom sometime. She's been to quiet lately!
Write mommy bucket list.
Wake up!! I am sleepy today. More coffee please.
Change out wallets.
Send Trina information so she can help me with a problem. Thank you Trina! ♥ She's seriously like the Olivia Pope of the family!
Put flea meds on the animals before those little bugs try to invade us and our home.
Declutter the spare bedroom more.
Plan our Easter dinner.
Try a recipe out of the Clean Slate Cookbook. :)
Groom Romeo...he always looks like a hot mess.
Make dinner reservations for our wedding anniversary.
Clean up DVR
Clean up the back deck on a warm day.
Make and film Easter bread recipe.
Get courage to start Chantrix again. It tears my body up but I know it will help in the long run.
Take more time to read.
Stay away from the cake...I have eaten enough already.
Try to clean more windows this week so the sun can really shine through.
I hope you guys are having a wonderful week. Today I am keeping busy around the house and enjoying the sun shinning through the windows. Here's some inspiration to take along with you as we go through this new week.
Thanks so much for stopping by. If you are new here, I'd love it you took a second to subscribe!

Yesterday both Scott and I didn't feel good. Today I feel a little better but have had a few obstacles during the day so far that I had to overcome. You can hear all about those in next Monday's vlog. Its been kinda stressful today. But as we move into the evening, I hope things calm down. :) If you are new here, I hope you take a few minutes to get subscribed!
Monday's vlog will cover Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the previous week and Thursdays vlog will be for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Actually I might be adding more vlogs in during the week...depending on how much I vlog.
Here's what's went on around here the past few days:
Thursday I was just starting to get somewhat back to schedule. After Laura left it was time to get back into the swing of things. I love Laura and I hope it didn't seem different in the catching up video. Toddlers bring a lot of stress to any home and at the end of each night we were falling on the couch together laughing about how crazy the day was. And she only had 2 of the 3 kids... so imagine her day to day busy life. She sure has her hands full and she also knows she can walk back through our door with one or all three of the kids. Our door is always open to all of our kids. It did take me a while to feel good about catching up and getting back on schedule. I totally understand why our oldest daughter doesn't want a planner yet. I love planners and have offered many times to get her one thinking it would make her life easier but I found out last week that was a bit silly of me. With such young kids, there is very little room for planning or true schedules short of a to do list. So many of my activities were changed or cancelled and it was just from being busy all day with young kids in the house. Now I understand her reasoning! Aren't those babies in the picture above as cute as ever!? You'd never know that they kicked our adult butts over and over! Hahahahaha....it's true!
I really thrive and get things done when I have some kind of road map of how I want the day to go. This could be a to do list, notes on the chalkboard wall, the to do list below or my handy dandy Inkwell Press Planner which I love so much. As you can tell, it was a bit hectic last week and it took a while for me to get things balanced out.
I just started back slowly so I didn't get overwhelmed. I like to stick to one task at a time until the job is done. The first day it was grocery and household shopping. It was something I had to get done and then I moved on to other to do's through out the week. On Friday I worked around the house and online with emails and such then I made some me time. I took off and got my hair and nails done making me feel like a new person. :) A little pampering is always nice! I don't know why it's so hard to keep up with things when people are home or here visiting. I guess I want to just hang out with them instead of working. I have to admit, the toddler kicked our butts but having Laura here to hang out with and kinda give me a break was nice. I didn't stress about what I wasn't getting done for the most part. Instead my full attention went to her, the kids, and Scott.
The weekend approached and the weather changed. It went from a cold rainy few days to sunshine, birds singing, kids playing outside... it was simply wonderful. I do want to move but I feel so blessed to see mountains all the time. There is something so peaceful about this area. It's growing on me. And let me say, North Carolina doesn't hold a candle to South Carolina. It's so much nicer here.
I want to look for a new house in the area but if I have to be here because of Scott's work.. I think I am ok with it. It's grown on me and I feel relaxed here. It's a beautiful state really and there is so much more of it I want to explore. With the rise in the temperatures, I have actually been feeling better. The sunshine is amazing and everyone around here has been out in their yards, kids are back to playing outside, and the birds are chirping again.
Saturday night I was busy with Scott. He wanted to get some stuff to redo the boys bathroom so we did some night shopping together. I think he actually had a good time picking out stuff that he and he alone likes. I helped but he mainly picked out everything and seemed to really be having a good time. I got a highlighter kit that I tried out leaving my hair more with orange highlights which did not make me very happy. I tried and tried to wash them out but it just was not happening. So I ended up going to bed a carrot top Saturday night. And no.. I didn't take pictures! Saturday I was opening some mail later in the night and was so surprised to have received such a sweet gift from a youtube/blog/friend that has exchanged books with me and really has been such a sweet friend. She sent a bunch of owl stickers for my birthday and some coupons for my favorite Mighty Leaf Tea. It was so generous and kind. Thank you so much Kiiresten! Romeo climbed up in bed with me and we got a great nights sleep together. There is something so sweet hearing a purring noise next to you in bed from a big fat cuddly kitty cat.
For whatever reason, I woke up Sunday morning before either of the boys. I sprung out of bed and took one look in the mirror and knew I had to do something. I called the girl who cut my hair and she was actually working Sunday morning. I was in the car at 9am heading in to get it fixed. I just required a toner and I was all good.. and had a nice blow out too. The boys were still sound asleep by time I got home an hour later. :) I was so thankful it was fixed. I won't do that again. She said if I had left it on a bit longer it probably would have lightened and not had that brassy tint to it. But it was looking pretty white and I wasn't going for a Gwen Stefani look ya know. I just had to wash it off but apparently that was not the right decision. Once I was back home with my fresh cut and.... now color, I got busy washing blankets and clothes... eventually waking my husband up at 1pm. He works so many hours, I figured the sleep was doing him a lot of good. Once he was up the boys went out to have a little fun and I had some time to work even more around the house. I knew today was going to be super busy so I just had to go with it and get as much of the weekly cleaning done as possible. It felt amazing with the spring breeze blowing through the windows.
All the kitty cats loved it too. I think they wish they could roam outside but that will never happen without them being harnessed up and taking a quick walk. I just couldn't put them outside. Spring just makes everything seem better. Sun makes everything better. It was truly a wonderful Sunday. I stayed rather busy as did Scott with painting his bathroom but there was time to fly a kite with Jackson in the backyard, breaks out on the front porch with a glass of sweet tea as the afternoon passed by. I talked to Laura this morning, Brittany too.. and knowing that both of the girls were ok over the weekend just made it even better. ♥ All the kids doing well and happy just puts me at peace.
This weeks to do’s
Get Jackson to the Dr. in just a few minutes...then to school.
Finish weekly cleaning

Continue to work in the spare bedroom. Still a lot to do in there.

Clean the mini blinds. A job I don't enjoy but I have a little tool that makes it easy at least.
Try to stay ahead of the game with the videos this week.
Balance check book. :\ I'm terrible with numbers but I try!
Clean out car....I hate doing it in winter..but it's warm enough now to get it done. It's almost time I can put the top down!
Dump pictures from phone for space.
Look for a new book shelf to get the metal shelf out of the master bedroom. Maybe Ikea.
Kiss my husband and son more!
Buy birdseed for homemade bird feeders.
Toss old makeup, lotions and such. Declutter!
Here's some inspiration to take a long with through the week:
Right now the sun is pouring in, and we should have ourselves a beautiful day. Guess what our weather is going to be!?
Ha! Another beautiful day. I am so excited! Here's looking forward to many more spring days that will turn into summer days, kids giggling, birds chirping, and a new week..with new goals and hopes. I don't hate Monday's like so many. I love a fresh week. Thanks for hanging around last week when the life was crazy and I got overwhelmed. Here's to a beautiful and blessed week to us all. Happy Monday!
