Kitty Series : Persian Kitten Birth!!! { Video }

Saturday, August 24, 2013
Hi everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. I know this video is not going to be for everyone...and if you don't watch.. I totally understand. This video is of Gabby giving birth to her kittens and there is blood... you know, a birth. I really filmed it for my kitty series on youtube for people who need a little more information before their kitty gives birth. It certainly isn't for everyone so I totally understand if you want to skip over this video! There are some great tips for those experiencing a cat who is about to have kittens. The main thing to remember is - not to panic - and try to let things happen naturally. Cats have been having kittens for a very long time now and most of the time, they know what they are doing. Remember to call your VET if you see any signs of distress or if there is a high temperature.. you for sure should get help.

Right now the kittens are doing great as is Gabby!

I will have more kitten care videos up soon!! They are just precious and we couldn't be happier!

New Family...New Love

Saturday, May 25, 2013
It was another sad but happy goodbye Thursday. We found an amazing home for this quiet female kitten. She went with Mr. and Mrs. Wedding. They actually called yesterday and said the kitten was hiding a lot so we told them to get her and put her in a small space such as a bathroom with her food and litter for a few days. Well they did that.. and this morning they said " she was a totally different cat. " They even had her a plate made at breakfast with a little egg, toast and jelly! Ha! The kitten was just scared and tired. But she is fitting right into her new family well today. I don't think she understands how good her life is going to be. No kids chasing her around. Very wealthy owners who intend on spoiling her rotten! When their last cat died they had it cremated and had a professional headstone made for it and it sits in the east part of the yard. Yea.. they will take very good care of them. The wife is starting to deal with memory problems but I think the kitten will help her. Studys have shown people who have Alzheimer's disease and dementia do better with pets. So I hope she helps her too. They were so happy this morning when I called to check on the kitty.. see, this is why I do it. Its so rewarding to share something I love so much with another person. I don't just sell the kittens to anyone can afford it.. I truly seek out the best home possible for each one of them. And I couldn't be happier where this one ended up! And I think they are going to name her Precious. That's funny because I named my first cat Precious myself.. and I think it would be perfect for this kitty too! (:

Only one left.. and I don't really want to sell him.. so who knows!

Sweet Goodbyes..

Thursday, May 16, 2013
Hello Friends! So yesterday I met up with a really nice family to let them pick out a kitten. Its so fun sharing my loves with other people near and far. So the family this little guy went to has a kids who I am sure, has already started spoiling him! When I go to sell a kitten, the people buying them are always so happy. I can't even express how good it feels to to see their faces light up when I put a kitten in their arms. Its really amazing. I couldn't be more thankful for being able to bring such love and happiness to other families. Everyone always has a smile on their face when accepting their new family member. That alone makes this totally worth it. I wish this could be full time job because it makes me smile to see others smile.

I won't lie.. its bittersweet saying goodbye. And there is also the business end of it that I have to take serious. I try to make sure all the paperwork is done right...I think the part that sucks the most is going over the numbers that I charge for the kittens but honestly.. it's not so bad. I think my prices are reasonable for the kittens and I think many agree. I know that a lot of families can't afford big big prices for a family pet so I try to keep it down. But there are expenses that I occur...husby does point them out often! ...... but I don't do it for the money. I do it because I love cats and I love making other people smile.

So this family took " fugly " ....and I am sure they will give him a great home. We called him fugly around here because we thought he was kinda ugly.. BUT...he was the most loyal kitten out of the bunch. He was always the first one to follow me into another room, the first kitty that would run right to me if I walk in the house, the first get on the bed at night to sleep.. he was very personable. And he has got a lot cuter as he has grown up a little bit! I wonder what they are going to name him!? I called and checked in on him this afternoon and he is doing great. They said his feet has hardly hit the floor! (: He even went to school for a while today with his wife! How funny!!

If you are interested in getting one of our kittens you can check out the links above. I have recieved a lot of calls already and when I tell them they can check out more at kjaggers.com they ALL have been confused about being directed here. I guess it wasn't such a good idea to delete the kitty blog. Hummmmm.... It was just a lot to keep up with so I thought I could just do everything here. Hopefully it works out! Anyway.. we still have 2 kittens left. I thought the female was sold but the buyers have not been in contact over the last few days so she is available if you are interested. And we also have another litter on the way!

So today I am very thankful and proud for making a family smile and giving our kitten to another loving family. This is a total dream job for me. It really does make me feel incredibly good. I hope they have MANY years of love and happiness with the kitten.

Kitty First Checkup - March 7 Litter - [ Video ]

Tuesday, May 14, 2013

Today the kittens went in to get their first set of shots and get a clean bill of health before they go into their new homes... I go them all packed up and out the door we went!

Here is the short video of our time away from home and more pictures and information below! And remember you can make the video big if you click the little page corners at the bottom right of the video.

Up ALL Night..

Friday, March 8, 2013
Its been a crazy stressful night for our entire family. Gabby went into labor yesterday in the afternoon. At 1141pm she had her first kitten..

Then a few minutes later we had kitten # 2

And this is where the problem comes.. She struggled all night long pushing.. Scott and I stayed up the ENTIRE night with her. At 5am I was scared to death for her and ended up calling one of the emergency Vet Clinics. They told me to wait till 8am and get her right in to Dr. John.

So at 7am I packed up Gabby and the babies..

and drove an hour to get there.. ( we moved )

We were the first ones there and I had to wait about 15 minutes for them to open the door.

So we go in.. and I explain everything.. and the first thing done is an xray..

And here is what it shows..

I know its hard to tell... but there is a baby lodged above the birth canal. Its so big that it wouldn't fit. So there was only 2 options.

1. Give her oxytocin and hope that it would help move the baby.

2. Do a C- Section right away.

Dr. John told me that if we give her the oxytocin and it didn't work.. the cats would die. That if he tried to preform a c section Gabby would bleed to death because the oxytocin makes the blood thin.

So guess what Scott and I decided. ...

( Thats Gabby in her case in that cage way back there )

Gabby is getting a c-section as I type. I am so nervous. They also told me that if this happened this time.. it would happen again and that breeding should be over for her. WOW.

And let me tell you in case you are wondering..

$620.00 TODAY

So if you are wanting to breed cats.. think twice. I love it and right now.. I am reconsidering it all together. Not because of the money but because Gabby is one of the biggest loves of my life. And the thought of her dying in the name of my cattery just makes me sick. Sure, I always knew that was a risk. But with a 4 year old cat.. its not normal.

She will be coming home tonight. I have to go back and pick her up around 3 - 4 pm. They said she would be more comfortable at home than in a cage over the weekend. She is coming home with meds and hopefully 3 kittens. Its been a very long night. I haven't slept yet. I might try to sleep in a while but I have had 4 cups of espresso and even thought I am exhausted, worried, and stressed out.. I am awake and my eyes are bugging out of my head.. Attractive huh? I will for sure shower before going to get her. Scott hasn't slept either.

They just called..

Gabby is out of surgery.. and we have another baby! Yea!! I have to get her at 4pm! He told me the kitten is long.. and the way it was positioned.. it would have never came out with the oxytocin. Guess we made the right call. Thank God.

Maybe I can rest now.

Thank you for all the kind words on facebook. You guys are amazing friends .

Bye.. =(

Wednesday, November 30, 2011
Hello friends. I hope you guys are having a great night. I am going to go kinda go back to last night.. and show you what it was like around here!

I had let laundry go for a couple days.. never a good idea in our house but I kinda took a break and last night it was laundry night so.. look who my helpers were!

Kitty cats were everywhere.. Yes, I still have an older washer. I just can't get rid of it like that.. Kinda a pack rat of sorts and I am loyal to something that still works. However, husby might make me give it up some time soon in the future!

Anyway..

Here's sweet pea.. and she is now gone..

Swagger and he's still here.. yea!!

OMG.. is he not the freaking cutest cat ever.. Just look at that expression!!

Ferdinand being playful - still here!!

and Gizmo playing with a laundry basket..

And now he is gone..

Also last night.. the kitty cats had a little special time playing for the first time in some

catnap..

You can't give cat nip to young kittens but these guys are finally old enough to

have some fun!

Ferdinand was loving it!

They were all loving it. I put it on the fireplace area and I even left it.. and some is on the carpet but it will vacuum right up tomorrow

It was well worth the mess because

Ferdinand loved it so much ! He is a bit shy but he just had a blast. I loved watching him go from being scared of his own shadow to becoming more confident and more independent. He will make some one a very good cat. Scott loves the way he looks.

Today when I woke up, I had calls and emails flying in. Dummy me, don't like voice mails so I leave my voice mails full but bad idea if your kittens go in the paper! I got busy and got that cleaned up after the first call.. and   I stayed on the phone all day dealing with this. I mean it was huge. I have had a turn out like this. Christmas kittys are a big hit!!

I got all their bags

with instructions.

of course one for toys too!

I got them all

up.. receipts  made too. I should have been a little more organized but that will change with the next litter. Just a busy time of  year for us and I have been consumed with holiday stuff .. along with house stuff.

I got it all boxed up along with their

ribbons... I love these little boxes.. They are small and have handles and make transporting anything super easy!

Scott came home and we took off

with the babies.. Here's Sweet Pea.. now known as MOCHA!!

Here is my last picture with Sweet Pea..

and she looks so much like her mommy.. I'm going to miss her. My mom wanted her.. I should have maybe should have let her have MOCHA but she told me no!! But she did want her!

She's got her bow on!!!

And here is my last picture with

with my beloved Gizmo. Omg.. I am really going to miss him! Buy the way the are keeping his name Gizmo!! Its funny I am totally at 50/50 with either keeping the nick name I give and 1/2 of them have renamed them! I try to pick names that suit their personalities! Gizmo fits this little guy perfectly!!

He had a bow too!

This is was my baby. He just melts into your arms. Sweetest little guy ever!

We were gone from 6 till midnight. We did stop at a friends because I don't think hubby wanted to miss the end of a basketball game so we stopped for just about 30 minutes. I was exhausted and really wanted to get home, feed the cats and get in the bath.. and that's exactly what happened. The water so hot and comforting in my bath that I stayed in there for nearly 45 minutes. It felt amazing.

Since.. I have emailed a friend, responded to some emails I received about the other two.. cleaned up the kitchen, really fast..tossed laundry around and here I am at 246 am exhausted and heading to bed really soon. If tomorrow is anything like today, I have a busy day. I took calls all day, along with sending emails but tomorrow.. calls and emails are fine but I have errands to run no matter what. I can limit them but I still have to get a few done before anything else. And I won't be out of bed early either. I will try to be up by noon.. and that alone will help. It will take a hour or so to get ready and then hopefully I can get it all done in an hour or so or maybe two.

I hope the kittens are doing well. I know it must be scary to be in a new home but I know they will be loved. I mean how can you not love them? I got some pictures after we got home and they look settled. I will post them sometime soon. They are on my phone and I don't feel like uploading them right now. I am just wore out..

I hope you guys have a great Wednesday. Here's some inspiration for you.

I am so grateful for being blessed to have such beautiful kittens, enjoying all the love and happiness and now passing it on.. and they are passing it on. One of the kittens is going to a woman's brother. He lost his, and she is passing it on. Its love.. and nothing is better than that.

Also.. thank you baby for driving so much and doing all kinds of kitty cat duties for us tonight! I know you were tired and I appreciate it. I love you..

Its bitter sweet you guys. I haven't cried but come close a couple of times. I have to keep telling myself that this is NOT the last litter or last kitten that will come my way. Nope.. I'm just getting started!!

Sweet Dreams!

xoxo
