Oh my gosh.. isn't that an adorable picture!!?? Since I breed Persian Cats it really was a tough decision at first if I was going to post other pictures of cats.. But there are so many freaking cute kittys out that I really didn't have a choice! I love that picture!

So how was your Friday!? It was pretty good around here. I guess will talk for a second about the big $500 giveaway.. Its still open.. and if you think you can do it.. then email me. I WILL NOT discuss any of the details of this until the right time. Stalker Girl likes shows up a lot each day and the last thing I am going to do is let her know anything about whats going on . No way.. All I will say is.. I am thankful for all the emails and I really feel this is going to come to an end soon. Thanks again.

So back to our day around here.. Things were pretty easy this morning. I slept well and woke up feeling good. Before I knew it, Jackson was home.. and full of giggles!

He was having a blast! We were having a blast!

After weeks of the boys putting off going on a pine-cone hunt.. I finally got Jackson to go!

And Cooper!

Love this picture.

It was really pretty back in the woods..

Jackson was loving it and climbing on everything!

and I just couldn't help..

getting as many pictures of Jackson that I could get!

The sun was shinning and

and when the sun rays come down.. I always see God in that moment. I really do.

Jackson and I gathered up our

bag of pine-cones

and we even found a

feather along the way!

Isn't that a pretty picture of Cooper..

We actually got lost back there for a while but it gave us all more time to play.

I was starting to get nervous about finding our way out. I called Scott and he tried to direct me out.. I have GPS on my phone so I knew we could be found if it became an emergency but thankfully

Jackson led the way. I was totally exhausted and sweaty by time we made it back to the house.. A shower never felt so good! I even got about an hour nap in!

I didn't cook tonight.. instead we all found things for dinner from a frig full of leftovers. I don't know how it happened but I have a sink full of dishes on a night I didn't even cook! I figured they could wait till tomorrow!

I have to tell you that tonight Scott and I were talking.. and he was so sweet.. He really was detailing

.
why he is attracted to me.. why he loves me and it was freaking precious. I'm serious.. it made my ♥ melt. I really got the right man this time. I love him sooooo much and so thankful he is in my life.

I am off to bed.. and I plan on sleeping in as late as I can.. it might be 2pm before I craw out of the bed.. and that will be just fine with me.. NO ALARM!

xoxo

Insert the smaller vase inside the large. Layer jelly beans in the space
between the two. Arrange Peeps on top of the jelly beans.

I find vases at the dollar store all the time..I don't buy expensive ones too often..I mean..What for!? So I am going to find me to different ones that will fit inside of each other..( maybe 2 sets of 2 ) and put this together!!

SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL

ORCHID ~ Love, beauty, refinement, many children, thoughtfulness and mature charm.. The orchid is the most highly coveted of ornamental plants, the delicate, exotic and graceful orchid represents love, luxury, beauty and strength.
I have a passion of Orchids. They are just so beautiful. They bloom up to 4 times a year. So this is one of my new hobbies. I am going to start collecting orchids. I am hoping I can can keep them alive. There is a lot of work that goes into growing these beautiful flowers.
There are many different varieties. The one in these pictures is a Phalaenopsis Orchid, otherwise known as the "Moth Orchid". They are native to Southeast Asia . A mature phaleaenopsis will produce a many good sized blooms much of the year. They enjoy a warm climate. The ideal night temperature is 62 to 65 degrees and daytime temperature range from 70-80 degrees. Since this temperature range is similar to that of many homes, it makes an ideal house plant. They usually require watering about once every 4-7 days. So it should be pretty easy to care for. It likes a East window. You have to be careful to let it get burned in the by the sun.
I think I am going to start buying 1 a week until the house is full of them. I love them that much. I am still trying to read up on them to learn the proper care. There is a lot to learn!!
I think this is one of the most beautiful plants ever...Look at it...I think it speaks for itself. Orchids come in lots of varieties and lots of colors. I cant wait to add to my collection! I might just get another one tomorrow!!!!
There is something magical about the orchid. I cant explain it. I just might have to doing an oil pastel drawing of it, if I can find the time.

LETTING THE FRESHNESS IN

Thursday, March 11, 2010
Spring is right around the corner for us..We live in upstate Ohio and this last winter seemed harder than previous ones.. Not only was the snow hard to deal with, the shorter days and a closed up house only made for more of a depressing time. But today.....the sun is out, the birds are chirping, and our windows are open!
It has been a little hard coming out of the depressed mood I have been in..There is so much to do around the house and there never seems to be enough time to get it all done. Yet with this burst of spring I feel hopeful. Hopeful that I will find more motivation to get things spruced up around here, hopeful that I will start taking a little bit better care of myself, and hopeful that this summer will be the best ever.
We have lots of things going on in our lives right now. Scott is about to be a grandpa in May and we both are so excited for that new baby to get here, Brittany and Jackson will be here during summer break which will also bring a little more laughter into the house.. I just feel better in this spring like weather.. More of a reason to argue the point that we should be in south Florida learning Spanish right now!
The cats are loving the windows being open..Giovanni is wanting to be outside soooo bad...Last fall I tried using a halter and a light weight lead to allow him to go wonder around on the porch but he hated it..Maybe we will have to give it another try...Gabby is still getting use to all the outside sounds but she seems to be enjoying the weather too!
Today is a beginning.. I am going to try to get things in order around here...First is to just pick up around here while working on the laundry..Got to clean out the cat boxes too..YUCK...Then going to work on the pantry and possibly the upstairs. I want this house looking good and smelling good! And spring after all is the best time for a new beginning!

HOME TIPS #1

Tuesday, March 9, 2010
It has been a while since I have done a food blog and so it is high time that I did one. Been meaning to get around to it. There are so many simple tips in cooking and the kitchen that the cookbooks often do not mention, but everyone should know. These tips will make cooking from scratch even better and you will find more pleasure in cooking from scratch, which is healthier for you, your friends, and families. In addition, many of these tips will save you money too. Please feel free to share your ideas and tips. Understand that I cook, using 100% organic ingredients and whole grains as much as possible. Plain and simple it has more nutrients and is healthier, as well as a nice and lazy way to avoid getting plagued by genetically modified foods. As always, completely irrelevant replies about gardening or family are always welcomed :-). ~Pour all leftover veggies and water when they are cooked into a large freezer container and freeze. When full, add tomato juice or sauce and heat for a tasty soup. ~Three stalks of celery diced and added to about 2 cups of dried beans while cooking will make them easier to digest. ~A few drops of lemon juice added to simmering rice will keep the grains separated. However I rarely do this as being Asian, I firmly believe that rice should stick together. ~Instant potatoes are a good soup or stew thickener. ~Canned tomatoes added to inexpensive and tougher cuts of meats or roasts will tenderize the tough meat. ~When frying meat, sprinkle with paprika to turn it a golden brown. ~Over-ripe bananas can be peeled and sliced, then frozen in a plastic container until time to bake in bread, cake, or use in a smoothie. ~When baking bread, a small amount of water in a separate pan will keep the crust from getting too hard or brown. ~To make self-rising flour for biscuits, mix 4 cups of flour, 2 teaspoons salt, and 2 tablespoons baking powder. Store in an airtight container. ~Use warm, not hot water to activate yeast. Hot water kills the yeast. ~When baking in a glass pan or ceramic pan, lower the oven temperature by 25 degrees F. ~When baking bread, you get a finer texture by using milk, not water. ~Do not over handle biscuit or pie dough. It makes the dough tough. ~Nut breads are best if stored 24 hours before serving. ~To make breadcrumbs, save the heels in the freezer and crush them as needed. ~If eggs float in a bowl of water, do not use them as they are not fresh. ~Grape Nuts sprinkled over muffin batter makes a quick and crunchy topping and increases the fiber content. ~Egg whites need to be at room temperature before whipping for greater volume. ~Fill flat-bottomed ice cream cones half full with cake batter and bake. Ice and decorate for easy to handle kids' treats. ~Marshmallows make great candleholders on birthday cakes. ~To drizzle chocolate, place chips in a Ziploc bag and immerse in hot water until the chocolate melts. Snip the corner of the bag and drizzle over cake, cookies, or candies. This also works well for icing cakes and cookies too! ~To give luster to your cake, ice as usual then use a hair dryer to blow-dry the surface. The slight melting of the frosting will give the cake a pretty luster. ~Remove stale odors in the washing machine by adding 1/3 cup of baking soda to a load of laundry. This also has the effect of making your detergent work better in getting rid of stains. ~Grind up ice cubes in the garbage disposal to sharpen the blades. Do this at least once a month. ~To make "buttermilk", put 1-tablespoon vinegar or lemon juice in a measuring cup and add enough milk to make one cup. ~For a juicier burger, add 1/2 cup cold water to 1 pound of hamburger before grilling. This allows you to get the benefits of fat in the mea in the leaner hamburger. ~For "sweet" corn, add 1-tablespoon sugar to the water you cook the ears in. ~ Dip measuring spoons in hot water before measuring shortening or butter and the fat will slip out easily. ~Add small amounts of corn to pancakes for a healthier breakfast. ~To soften brown sugar, place box in the microwave with 1 cup of hot water in a separate container and heat on high for 1-1 1/2 minutes. "~Crisp" stale crackers, chips, or cereal by microwaving on a plate for 30-45 seconds. Let stand 1 minute afterwards. ~Soften cold butter or margarine by microwaving 1 minute at 20% power. ~For extra juicy burgers, add 1/4 cup evaporated milk per pound of ground beef. ~To ripen pears, place in a brown paper bag and store out of direct sun. Check daily. ~Baking powder will remove tea or coffee stains from cups. ~Low salt canned cream soups make excellent sauces for vegetables, fish, ECT. Black bean or onion soup with cauliflower, tomato with pork chops. ~Hard-boiled eggs will peel easily if cracked and placed in cold water immediately after boiling. ~If soup or stew tastes salty, a raw piece of potato in the pot will absorb the salt. ~Peel onions under running water or place in freezer until very cold before chopping to prevent tears. ~Slice and toast onions in the oven until golden brown and store in an airtight container. Use in soups, stews, and sauces. ~You can add grated zucchini to any soup, stew, or spaghetti sauce by grating it and freezing it to use all winter. Once a month, run your dishwasher and washer empty on the longest cycles with 4 cups of white vinegar, using hot water. This will entirely clean the gunk out of the appliances and triple the life of both as well as save on future repair costs. I hope some of these tips help some of you guys out! I have lots more tips but right off my head this is all i can think of right at the momement! K Jaggers

YELLOW, YELLOW, YELLOW!

Monday, March 8, 2010
Yesterday afternoon my husband and I decided to paint the kitchen..After being here over 2 years now it was really time to fresh things up... I was hoping to just kinda plan for the new paint job and actually start it next weekend..We have a pretty good size kitchen with vaulted ceilings so it requires a lot of work to get it painted..Not to mention, having to move everything away from the walls. A BIG JOB... So then Scott and I head to walmart for only a couple of things and before I knew it we were checking out colors..I have trouble at times making decisions so stand me in front of a thousand colors and I am going to have problems! I kept going to yellow..I still dont know what made me pick bright yellow..But before we knew it we were headed home with yellow paint, and tons of painting supplies.. Scott got painting right away..It was a huge job and instead of moving things out of the kitchen, he just kept scotting them around..There was no room to walk around..He kept going and by midnight he was finished with the walls.. The doors, baseboards, and ceiling need painting too. Still lots to do.. I managed to get the doors painted today..I hung some little yellow curtins and now wish I would have picked some with red in them so soon I am going to be looking for some more curtins. Here is a picture of most of the kitchen done.. Still some things left to do.. I tried to tone down the yellow with some splashes of color like red, orange and even green..We will continue with finishing all the base work and getting the little details all finished.. Over all I think that it looks fresh, bright, and clean..Maybe yellow will help boost the happiness!!!! K Jaggers
