SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL

ORCHID ~ Love, beauty, refinement, many children, thoughtfulness and mature charm.. The orchid is the most highly coveted of ornamental plants, the delicate, exotic and graceful orchid represents love, luxury, beauty and strength.

I have a passion of Orchids. They are just so beautiful. They bloom up to 4 times a year. So this is one of my new hobbies. I am going to start collecting orchids. I am hoping I can can keep them alive. There is a lot of work that goes into growing these beautiful flowers.

There are many different varieties. The one in these pictures is a Phalaenopsis Orchid, otherwise known as the "Moth Orchid". They are native to Southeast Asia . A mature phaleaenopsis will produce a many good sized blooms much of the year. They enjoy a warm climate. The ideal night temperature is 62 to 65 degrees and daytime temperature range from 70-80 degrees. Since this temperature range is similar to that of many homes, it makes an ideal house plant. They usually require watering about once every 4-7 days. So it should be pretty easy to care for. It likes a East window. You have to be careful to let it get burned in the by the sun.

I think I am going to start buying 1 a week until the house is full of them. I love them that much. I am still trying to read up on them to learn the proper care. There is a lot to learn!!

I think this is one of the most beautiful plants ever...Look at it...I think it speaks for itself. Orchids come in lots of varieties and lots of colors. I cant wait to add to my collection! I might just get another one tomorrow!!!!

There is something magical about the orchid. I cant explain it. I just might have to doing an oil pastel drawing of it, if I can find the time.
