Polish of the Moment: Essie Lady Like Photos & Swatches

Saturday, October 19, 2013

Its been a long while since I have done a #POTM on this blog so today I thought I would share this very pretty taupe color from Essies “Brand New Bag Collection”. It was a super thin formula like a lot of the Essie polishes. It was a bit thicker and in 2 coats it was totally opaque. I am a sucker for taupe colors in fall!

I just the

Sally Hansen Cleared for Take Off as my topcoat...

I love the color and think it pretty much goes with anything!

Essie Mochacino Photos & Swatches

Wednesday, December 5, 2012

I recently took part in my 2nd nail polish swap and was paired with Lesley from Pretty Little Pink Things and this is one of the polishes she sent me. ( To see everything she sent, clicky click right here ). I was pretty excited to try out this color because its right up my alley with the light brown shade.. very similar to the color of coffee.

This is a medium greyish brown color that has a slight silver shimmer that does kinda look pinkish green in different lighting. After the first coat, it was pretty shear so I ended up applying 3 coats to get the result I wanted.

The thing I like most about this color is its not too flashy being the shimmer is pretty light. I am totally loving this color right now and as with all Essie polishes, they apply really smooth without much effort and last a pretty long while without chipping. I just added a top coat and was done!

Love it!!

Nail Polish Reveal!!

Friday, November 30, 2012
I have been having so much fun with the swaps lately. This time I did a nail polish swap with Rachel over at Lala Lists and I was paired up with Kaylee over at All Things Bright and Beautiful

She sent me a great package!!

Here is what she picked out for me..

First off.. I LOVE the card! So sweet..

Loreal Infalliable Shadow Swatches - #996 Liquid Diamond & # 337 Endless Sea

Friday, October 26, 2012

I love these shadows.. I have a bunch of them.. They are like non other..They are very pigmented . soft.. blendable shadows. So the last time I was in CVS I picked up a couple more!

This is ...

#337 Endless Sea.. Such a beautiful teal color..

And this one is in

#996 Liquid Diamond...

Such pretty colors!

I love this color. I think it would look great with on the lid with a brown smokey eye..

Just giving your eye a little pop of color!

This one is my favorite..

This has a light soft grey base and pink shimmer. I love love love pink and grey!

I was wore this the other day and had two people ask me what color was it!! So its pretty amazing. I just had it all over my lid up to my crease with some black liner and mascara. Super pretty color!

I plan on making a list of the all the shadows from this line and then going and getting the rest of them. These are such great drugstore shadows!!

Do you own any??  Whats your thoughts??

Wednesday, October 17, 2012

These are the swatches from the two new lipsticks I recently got from CVS. These are from the Revlon Shanghai Collection..

This is not as deep as it looks in the tube. Its a pinky red.. and not too strong for me to wear!

The next shade I got was this one..

which did look right in the tube.. This is a more orange red.. I don't know how much I will wear this shade but its very pretty for fall!

Hope you are having a great evening! I will be getting more swatches up in the coming days!

Happy Wednesday!!

Swatch Fest!! Revlon Shanghai Collection & Revlon Smokey Shadow Sticks #220 Volcanic & #205 Atomic

Monday, October 8, 2012

Hello Friends! I wanted to get these Swatches up from the Revlon Shanghai Gucci Westman Collection. This first pallet is of cream shadows in Midnight Express.

You can see in the pictures above there is a lot of white sparkly highlight color and the maroon color.  The other colors are smaller.

Here are the swatches..

These are very vibrant.. and they all have some glitter except the matte black. I think the pigmentation is great on these and I can't wait to do some fall looks with these cream shadows!

Now on to the Revlon Super Lustrious Lipstick  in #030 - Pink Pearl - which is also a part of the Revlon Shanghai Gucci Westman Collection.

This is a really neutral pink color.. They had a lot of bright reds in this collection too.. But I don't normally wear that strong of a lip.. so I think I am really going to love this color!

Next up.. I got some more of the Revlon Color Stay Smokey Shadow Sticks. I have a few of these and use them a lot for bases... So here are the ones I got in my last haul - that you can see right here!

This is a very thin cream formula that you can build up.. They work great for bases.. I think the only thing I don't like is that both of these have the same color backish grey color to smoke it out with. I would have prefered a brownish tone with the atomic and not a black. But I will still use them!

If you want to check out my video of the swatches.. here it is..

Have you tried any of these? I would love to hear from you!

Happy Monday!

Covergirl # 274 Fairytale & # 278 Prima Donna SWATCHES and PHOTOS

Wednesday, September 19, 2012

Recently I saw that Covergirl had a new design on their eye shadow quads. I use to wear a lot of shadows from this line..so has my mother and a lot of friends. I thought for sure that these were new colors but I am still not sure if they are or not. I dug through all my covergirl shadows and couldn't find any with the same names so I am not sure if these colors are new or not.. but I wanted to share the swatches anyway!

Both quads have a lot of pretty colors..

This one is in

#274 - Fiarytale -

Here are the swatches..

Very pretty violets.. I think I like the pinks in the middle the most but all are highly pigmented and show up well against my skin.

This one is in

#278 - Prima Donnna -

This has more warm tones.. perfect for fall!

Here are the swatches..

Again.. highly pigmented.. and they go on really smooth.

I think I like the colors of this quad the best out of the two.. I think its more wearable for most people and that burnt cooper color is amazing and will look great on blue eyes!

So I am totally loving these.. I can't wait to put together some looks with these colors!

Have you tried any of these yet? I would love to hear from you!

Maybelline New York 02Q - Natural Smokes - Swatches

Thursday, September 13, 2012
You guys know I have been sick for days now.. but tonight I have to pull myself together because I am going out for a few hours.. So I thought what better time to try this Maybelline Quad that I just got last week. Maybe it will help bring me back from the dead!

This is in 02Q - Natural Smokes -

As you can see, its a very natural set of colors. There are 2 semi shimmery colors and 2 matte colors.

I think this could be one of the best shadow collections for this fall. I love it and I bet I use it all the time! I will get some pictures of soon of some looks using this quad along with some from the Wet n Wild shadows that I showed you here!!

God knows, I am going to need all the help I can get tonight to look like a living person... instead to the corpse I have been looking like due to this flu!

Have a great Thursday!

Wet n Wild Swatches

Tuesday, September 11, 2012

Let me first say.. I have never been a huge fan of Wet n Wild.  For me, I have found them crumbly giving a lot of fall out and if you happen to drop one.. they are so soft that they will just crumble on you. BUT.. one of my closest girlfriends were raving about these Wet n Wild shadows and really wanted me to try them out. So to the store I went.

Essie Good as Gold Swatches

Sunday, September 9, 2012
The other day I was browsing my local CVS and came upon the Essie Good as Gold Metallic polishes. I thought the gold was pretty and thought that it would be a great double duty polish. One you could wear it alone or use it as a base.. which I will explain in a second...

Here is the polish on its own.

This is a very pretty polish however it shows every imperfection with my nails.

I think the color is really pretty..

However, it has a smaller brush that I wasn't so crazy about. But after using it a few times, I got use to it and it went on easily and smoothly.

This polish was around $8 so it wasn't too bad. I love Essie Polishes and have many of them!

I also thought this polish could be a great base for

The Sally Hansen Gem Crush Polish in Big Money. To see all those swatches you can click here!!

Essie has

5 colors in this line. I am not sure if I will buy anymore or not but I do like the gold!

Have you tried any of these?? What do you think of them?

New Revlon Photoread Escapism Bronzer: Bronzed & Chic PHOTOS & SWATCHES

Monday, April 30, 2012

Yesterday while I was doing my Rimmel shopping ( 50% off at Walgreens this week ) I saw this new collection from Revlon. If you want to see all my photos from the collection you can click here. I was really intregued by the bronzer so that is the first thing from this collection that I got.

Revlon Photoready Bronzer

Bronzed & Chic

$12.99, Walgreens

As you can see it has 4 shades in 1

The packaging is rather large for this amount of product. I am not going to get started at how wasteful that actually is, and that we in the end, are charged for all that packaging we don't need.. only to fit that cheap brush. I think many of us would rather something a little more sleek without a cheap brush.. but that's just me..

All these colors are pretty matte. They are a creamy kind of powder that feels really soft.. almost damp. The colors are pretty pigmented and it glides on the skin really smoothly.

Here are the swatches..

Lightest to Darkest on both.

This first picture was taken in the house..

And here they are in the natural light..

I find that I like to blend a few of the colors.. and being its matte its great for contouring. I am going to have to use it for a few weeks to be able to come back and give you a in depth review but so far they seem pretty nice!

Have any of you guys tried this yet? I would love to hear your thoughts!
