Week in Review w/ 2 Vlogs! May 4 -11, 2015

Monday, May 11, 2015
Hello friends! I hope you are having a wonderful Monday. As many of you know... I post a week in review recapping what happened over the week & weekend. Its something that I have been doing off and on for years. Its just a simple way to give you guys a glimpse into our week. I have changed up the vlogging schedule where I will be uploading a Day in the life vlog Monday...as always and then another on Thursday. Monday's vlog will cover Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the previous week and Thursdays vlog will be for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Actually I might be adding more vlogs in during the week...depending on how much I vlog. This time there is 2 ditl vlogs! :)

Here is a look in the first part of our week. For the most part things have been pretty calm and easy going around here. If you haven't seen it yet, here's the first vlog of the week:

Here is the latest DITL Vlog. This shares our weekend with you guys but there wasn't a ton going on.. except babies! :) Hope you enjoy!

The beginning of the week was all about home life. There was tons of little jobs that I wanted to get done. I sure stay busy with this larger house. I still would love to find a cleaning lady to help out. I felt like I did a great job of staying on schedule and getting things checked off the list. However, I found myself in bed earlier and waking up before the boys head out for work and school. But I did manage to get things done. I have been doing a great job of getting on the treadmill more too...which is probably one of the reasons I have been falling to sleep sooner. Because of the early starts, I have been having to eat a little more in the morning. I am not a breakfast person but I have been enjoying toast with avocado and an over easy egg is so delicious. Scrambled eggs with avocado is also really good...if you haven't tried either...YOU SHOULD! Yummmmmmm!

Over the weekend we hung out around the house for the most part. I had some errands which included two trips to the DMV on Friday. I was frustrated and I felt defeated until a very kind lady finally helped me. It was seriously one of the hardest days of my lives. But it worked it and when I climbed in the bed that night, I felt very accomplished. :) Saturday Jackson was busy swimming in the lake with his friend and all his brothers and sisters. Since they were busy all day long, I went back out and ran some errands only to stop and pick up a big bag of cheeseburgers for all the kids there. I couldn't just take Jackson and his friend food so I got enough for them all. Swimming wears you out and I hope it made life easier on the parents of the other kids.

For Mothers Day, I woke up early and spend the morning with Scott and Jackson. They were so sweet handing me my cards when I first woke up and even offered to make breakfast. It was a typical Sunday for us in a way... Scott did some yard work and I tossed laundry around. But by 2pm we were out tubing on Green River. It was a beautiful warm day so we thought it would be perfect. Well, the water was freezing at 55 degrees and we cut our 4 hour floating trip to 2.5 hours. I ended up flipping in the tube....scraping up my knee but guess what!? My little special water proof zip map pouch kept my phone and camera dry even though it went totally under the water. I need to buy 10 more of those and do a giveaway because it worked like a charm!

Also for the mothers day, Scott and the kids got me a yummy edible arrangements treat of chocolate covered strawberries. Who wouldn't love that!? They are super yummy and instead of hoarding them all to myself, I have been sharing the love with the boys. :) It's just not the same when you have someone to share the love with with. Which is why I suppose I love giveaways! I just loving sharing what I love.

Little Blessings

I have a ton of blessings in my life. I am so blessed to have the wonderful family that I do. The little kids have been just a joy watching grow up. It's not always been easy but I am so proud of each one of them. Really, they have taught me so much and while I might not be mother of the year, they think I am the best mother ever. It's so touching and I am so very thankful for my family.

Our oldest daughter has her own busy family at this point making us actual GRANDPARENTS! Can you believe that!? I know this photo is a bit old but they need new ones however, I am sure it's not so easy getting the kids to sit still even for a quick picture. Right now in their lives it's super busy chasing around toddlers and caring for a baby but they are in the thick of it and trying to make it out alive! Laura is the sweetest ever and while she has a mom...she also has a wonderful friend in me. I love her and her family dearly and so happy they are in our lives.

I am also blessed with my own mom... as is my sister. We have a mom who is a fighter and who believes in us. She is like most moms...willing to go to hell and back for her kids. Growing up, my dad had custody of me and my mom NEVER gave up. And looking back, I don't understand what they were thinking. She is a wonderful mom and always has been. It makes me sad thinking about what they did to her but she has been there like a true mom from start to finish for my sister and I.

Also my sister in law is a major blessing in my life as well as her childrens lives. She has been so loyal to everyone and so helpful to me. She has listened to me complain for years about this or that and has worked hard to help me figure out life with her brother! I am blessed with children I adore, a family I love and not to mention a best friend who is always there to listen. My blessings are bigger and better than I ever imagined they would be.

Scott and I have made a full and mostly happy life together. It's been a journey but after 11 years in, we know each other so well. We are blessed because we have just merged our families together and it worked like a charm! It's an amazing life we live. ♥

Here's some inspiration that has helped me throughout the years... and maybe it will help you too! :)

Thank you guys so much for stopping by. I hope your having a great Monday. I have switched my schedule around some so today is mostly desk work with a few household chores like dreaded laundry! But I have found with moving cleaning day to Wednesdays, feels easier because I get things done before hand without feeling rushed. So it's working out! Thank you guys for coming back and sharing our lives with you. I feel as if you are friends I have known for many years ( actually it's been years ha! ) and you guys are such a blessing.  I love getting to know you and I appreciate your kindness. I hope all you moms out there had a wonderful Mothers Day. For us, we didn't celebrate in the traditional sense with no big fancy dinner or a big gathering. Instead we spent the morning at home, the afternoon on Green River, and then the evening grilling out. Then we kinda collapsed and got to bed pretty early. All of our energy was gone. Thankfully we all slept well and we are moving into this new week with a little more energy. Hopefully we can accomplish a lot! I hope you have a great week... if you are new here, I'd love it if you took a few minutes to get subscribed!

Week in Review: Day in the Life Vlog x2 w/ Weekly To Do's & Blessings

Monday, May 4, 2015
Hello friends!

I tend to talk and ramble on a lot so I like to break up the vlogs sharing the weekend separately ....most of the time! Anyway, here is our latest ditl vlog from the weekend:

The beginning of the week was a total mess. My Sony laptop was giving up making life harder on me. I tried fixing it myself for a few days...but I finally sucked it up and bought one. I spent wayyyy to much of my time in front of the computer Monday and Tuesday. I was able to upload in safe mode but it was such a hassle. It's amazing that a computer can screw up an entire schedule when it acts up. Doesn't it understand I am on a schedule!? Once I got the new one, it was still in front of the computer( 's ) transferring files and trying to get everything transferred. Another pain in the butt however it was necessary.

Once we were back up and running, I was actually able to enjoy a few more things like....the flowers blooming all around the neighborhood, playing outside with Jackson and Cooper, and so much more without stressing over electronics. I even got to the social security office and finally got a new social security card with my married name on it. I was just not one of those brides who switched everything over as soon as we said I do. So far, life has been running smoothly with what I had but it was way past time to get it done. All the while through the computer problems and everyday life, Romeo sure wasn't bothered. His naps carried on of course.

The weekend was a hodgepodge of everyday life events. Things aren't always exciting around here. We are all homebodies and actually like being here so it's never been a problem for us not having anything busy or exciting going on. Life carries on...Friday night I came around the corner and saw Scott holding Romeo up to the fish tank. Ha! How's that for exciting.. NOT! Romeo sure enjoyed it though. That cat is a King in his own right. He is so gentle and loving..the kids have made him the family mascot and he gets carried more than he walks on his own. S-P-O-I-L-E-D!

The weather has been beautiful here in South Carolina. God has blessed us with such amazing summer days. We have been hanging clothes out, cloud watched, listened to the beautiful birds to sing to us and even grilling out. The sunshine does amazing things for us all. Saturday I woke up a bit early and headed out to a large farmers market. I left my good camera at my home and my basket was so full it was hard to video with my phone but its the same place where we got the strawberries. They even have a refrigerated part where you can buy fresh chickens and eggs. Its such a nice place. I came home with bags full of yummy fresh ingredients for a early summer farm stand dinner. It almost turned into a disaster when the legs of our grill broke off and left me hanging on to a hot grill trying to figure out what to do. It was actually scary because I had it on the wood deck and it could have started a big fire. Thankfully Scott walked through the door a couple minutes later and saw me holding on to it with kitchen mittens with a fire raging inside scared to death. He helped move into the grass and now I am totally happy with it. I'm cheap in some ways. When I love something I want to hold on to it forever. :) It was crazy but I guess its time to suck it up and buy another one.

Sunday Scott was up early and out the door to get in 18 holes. I didn't mind because he was home pretty early in the afternoon. It actually gave me time to get a work out in and even Cooper got to work out some too. Once he got home it was time for errands. It seemed like we were in the car forever. I was wore out by time we got back home. We had fun shopping though! Jackson stayed home and inside all week. He hasn't been feeling good which worries me but he seemed to be comfortable and content up in his room. The night was easy and I actually got to bed at a decent time. Yea for that! Since this post is up early.. I hope to get a few more things done today!

This weeks to do’s

  • I need to clean the ceiling fans still.... I didn't get it done last week.
  • Respond to facebook messages. I have over 15 that need replied to. I would love an assistant.
  • Clean the animals bowls and add more water to the automatic water dish.
  • Continue drinking more and more water.
  • Sort through at least one box in the garage and de clutter.
  • Wash windows by sink in the kitchen.
  • Paint nails.
  • Try to stay head with the video schedule.
  • Figure out the summer schedule with my ex husband. And he doesn't particularly care for schedules.
  • Organize new car and maybe film it.
  • Get more time in on the treadmill.
  • Clean up shelf in the bedroom....it tends to get cluttered quick.
  • Bake some cookies. I have some homemade chocolate chip cookie dough in the freezer...the boys will be happy with that sweet snack this week.
  • Call Marjorie about her upcoming wedding.. And Scott is walking her down the isle! Ha...she's in her 70's.
  • Dig up an area out back for an herb garden. I think the back yard would be best. Maybe for some tomatoes too.
  •  Get giveaway prizes packaged up to go to the post office.
  • Put out social media call for blogger questions for a upcoming video.
  • Go through the house and figure out what we need for the next time household shopping haul.
  • Organize the pantry before filming it.
  • Find a new prayer book for the mornings. I love starting my day with an inspirational prayer or scripture reading.
  • Put away the basket of clothes in the bedroom waiting on me.
  • Refill Bird Feeder.
  • Erase the kids art work from the chalkboard wall and get it updated.
  • File loose papers away.
  • Get things ready to fax to Louisiana. Something I need to get working on asap.
  • Work on Trader Joes grocery list.
  • Scoop cat boxes....yuck!

Little Blessings

♥ My mom is no little blessing, she is a huge blessing. She has been there for my sister and I every step of the way. Today is her birthday.....happy birthday mom!! She is such a happy fun loving spirit... much more social than myself. I have watched her change with the times and I wish more than anything that I could be celebrating with her today. Guess it will just have to wait until the cruise! Happy Happy Birthday mom... I love you.

♥ Finally getting that social security card was for sure a blessing. I am waiting on it to arrive in the mail but its the start of getting everything switched over.

♥ Fresh Clean Sheets are such a blessing. Nothing makes me happier other than new socks! :) Climbing into a clean soft cozy bed is also a blessing within itself.

♥ Finishing the book → The 5 love Languages ← and it was a blessing to get through an entire book and also learning other ways to express my love to my family. Maybe I will do a book review soon.

♥ Having a husband who doesn't mind working hard for us so we don't have to. As I look around our home, none of it would be possible without Scott. Our family would just not be the same.

♥  Good coffee has for sure been a blessing these last few days. I bought some new coffee which turned out awful but we didn't waste it. When I bought a new bag of our favorite coffee, it made all the difference. When you find something you love....don't switch!

♥ Having such loving subscribers has been a blessing from the start. You guys touch my heart each day. Thank you for all you do.

Here's some inspiration to take with you through your week...

I hope you guys have a wonderful week. We are loving all the spring weather and everything that comes because of it. After winter, all the colorful blooms are a refreshing change. I'll be back on Thursday with another DITL Vlog...stay tuned! If you are new here, I'd love it you took a second to subscribe!

Week in Review with 2 VLOGS w/ To Do's & Blessings April 13 -20, 2015

Monday, April 20, 2015

Oddly enough this past week, the beginning was so much better than the weekend. It works out that way sometimes I guess. If you haven't seen it yet, here is the ditl vlog from the beginning of the week.

Here is the latest DITL Vlog. This shares our weekend with you guys. Of course, I don't show you every moment but this vlog is a bit long. :) I tend to ramble so if you want to escape your Monday for an hour or so.. enjoy this new vlog. ↓ Sorry for the lack of editing in some parts...I was really tired.

Around here the weather this past week has been nuts. One minute it has been bright and beautiful and then the next minute the lights are flickering from all the rain and thunderstorms. I love the rain but it has been a little harder getting out and doing things or even finding motivation to get things done around the house. I would rather enjoy a cup of tea and a good book instead of doing what I should be doing around the house. Speaking of good books, I recently got another new read → The Residence ← by Kate Andersen Brower which is amazing. I haven't made it very far through the book but so far it is a great read. It's been so fun reading about the inner workings of the White House. I will totally have to do a giveaway on this book because it has quickly became a favorite! Also in our latest vlog I talk a lot about Oreo the outside kitty cat who lives all over the neighborhood. Thank you guys for all your love and support over this kitty cat. One part of me wants to take it to a no kill shelter and the other part of me knows that it's not my cat and it's not my decision. I probably won't do anything but feed it.. which I know a few of you guys feel  like I shouldn't be doing. However, I just hate to see it hungry...and it will meow non stop  at the patio door wanting its meals. So I don't know...time will tell but I appreciate all the love for Oreo!

The week consisted of meeting new friends while I was out and about with Scott. That beautiful Macaw was so chatty and fun to hang out with. I worked online while the rain came down on other days. It's been a weird week to say the least. I got a bunch of stuff in the mail...some I will be sharing in a upcoming haul but I had share the April Ispy Bag because I love it so much!! It's adorable and I plan on keeping this one! Sometimes I give them away to friends and family but this Bohemian bag is right up my alley! Another beauty item that showed up this week was a new Bare Minerals starter kit. I want to give it a try again....years ago I used it but didn't stick with it. I  thought for spring and summer days at home, this might be nicer than a full face of foundation. I don't think it will hold up in the heat well but maybe with that primer it will. I also decided to order the matte foundation to see if I like it better than the original. So far I am enjoying it though! :) I plan on filming a get ready with me featuring the Bare Minerals products in the upcoming weeks.

This weeks to do’s

  • Figure out what to buy mom for Mothers Day. She is a wonderful mom whom I adore so I can't mess up! ;) Plus we got Mothers Day around the corner too.
  • Water plants.
  • Groom all the kitty cats one day this week.
  • Pre record as many videos as I can just to make things easier.
  • Clean the house on Wednesday. For the first time in years I have switched the day I do my weekly cleaning. Not sure how it's going to work out but I think it might be easier that way. I still have to do a big pick up on Monday after all of us being home over the weekend but trying something new this week.
  • Get my water intake up. I still don't really like it but I'm trying.
  • Clean up the DVR...a weekly job!
  • Plan and roadmap the week out. See...I am running behind with so much.
  • Schedule a manicure and pedicure. I am sure my nail lady is going to hate what I did to my nails but it was time for a break.
  • Make more time to read.
  • Figure out what spring polish I want to paint my nails with. When they are shorter I don't mind color.
  • Try to get to bed earlier.
  • Dump videos and photos from my phone to make room.
  • Send Lacis card out...sorry sis! I forgot to get it into the mail this morning. It's coming though!
  • Get a hair cut.
  • Try to not let negative energy effect me as much.
  • Fertilize the plants around the house.
  • Catch up on Emails.
  • Call some nursery's around town for some new lavender plants. Why are they so hard to find? Normally it's a easy plant to find but this year it has proved to be challenging.
  • Play a board game with Jackson. Hes needs some mom time.
  • Still need to clean my makeup brushes.
  • Finish Thank you notes.
  • Update laptop with driver updates and such.

Little Blessings

♥ Jackson did great at his golf lesson and seems to like it...which made me happy.

♥ Our new fish are doing well so far. I thought for sure that one was dead the other day but it was just sleeping I guess. I love watching them swim around.

♥  Hearing the thunder and watching it rain. It's a blessing within itself.

♥ Hearing both kids giggle always puts my ♥ in the right place and makes me proud they are such loving happy kids.

♥ Speaking of kids, our oldest daughter and her family drove down to Florida a few days ago. Saying we are worried about them is a understatement but I was very happy to know they made it safe and sound.

♥ Watching Romeo run and play. There is something magical about that cat and watching him in full motion is a blessing for sure.

♥ Talking to my sister and girl friends is such a blessing. They are such strong amazing women. I couldn't be more grateful for them.

Here's some motivation to take with you along the week:

Thank you guys for stopping by. I hope you have a beautiful blessed week. I don't have a lot planned to do outside of the house but I do have a lot going on at home. Lots of little jobs I want to get finished. I have a bunch of little areas that I want to declutter and organize.  I hope you guys are having a great Monday. ♥ If you are new here, I'd love it you took a second to subscribe!

Week in Review with 2 VLOGS w/ To Do's & Blessings April 6-13, 2015

Monday, April 13, 2015

So the beginning of the week was a bit more hectic. I did a blog post where I shared this vlog already but I always like to share all the vlogs in the week in review blog post together. Monday was a bit harder than the rest of the days and then I just stayed busy. Here is the vlog from the first part of the week:

As we moved on into Friday, I did a really good job of keeping myself busy. It's hard with  of all the hours Scott has to work but it does give me plenty of time to get things done. Here's how things have gone around here the past few days. More below!

Friday I started out at the computer and stayed there for a while. I never seem to be able to stay caught up for long. Right now...I have a inbox full of emails I need to respond to. But I do take time to do computer work almost daily so it was a easy way to start the day. Then as afternoon set in, it was time to get Romeo to the Vet. We want him to live forever and he was the only one left for their yearly shots and such. Thankfully he got a great bill of health but does need his teeth cleaned in a few months. He's such a love and did great in the office even out of his cage. Our new Vet is not all fancy. She works alone with a little staff but she spends so much time with us and doesn't rush out or give up easily. I believe it is because of her that Super Cooper is seizure free.

We came home and relaxed until Scott got home. Then it was back out to the Asian buffet with 2 preteen boys! It was an experience. Jackson was super sleepy...which means he was a grump and dinner wasn't exactly as I had hoped but we got them fed and both Jackson and Hunter fell asleep pretty quick once we got home.

Saturday it was another slow to start day but eventually I got up and did some cleaning and then a little shopping. :) It seems like every spring we are doing a lot of shopping. I got some more simple short and shirt combos that will be great for everyday and we all got new Nikes. I am not so sure of the hot pink ones without shocks but I am giving them a try. They are pretty comfortable but I am still not so sure. I'm sure they will be fine though.

Once I got back home it was back to cleaning up things, doing laundry and waiting on Scott to get home. Like I said, it's hard because I miss him. He actually said he wanted to putt and chip to warm up a little before his big game on Sunday. Well... that sure was not happening with him being gone all day on Sunday. It's hard for him to even balance life, work, family, fun. I kinda snapped at him and instead of spending his evening on the golf course, he took us out to the Melting Pot for dinner instead! We were planning on eating there for our anniversary dinner but plans got changed up and we ended taking Jackson with us and just making it a family affair! ♥

The food was amazing. It is a bit of work to cook your own dinner but it's so much fun. I wish we had all the kids with us for that dinner because even though we all were kinda tired and grumpy...we had a great time! We filled up on bread and cheese... salads... lobster and steak and then finished it up with a yen and yang chocolate pot that was simply amazing. It wasn't  cheap but the food, experience, and family time was worth every penny! It had been a while since I had been and Jackson had never been before. It's great for young adults! We were all so stuffed when we walked waddled out there that I ended up driving so Scott and Jackson could nap on the way home! As soon as they walked in the house it was straight into the beds they went. The house was silent and it was long before I was in dreamland too!

Sunday Scott was up kinda early and got on the greens pretty early. I saw him off and then enjoyed the morning around the house. The weather is really warming up ( even though we are suppose to have a lot of rain this week ) and we have really been enjoying it. I took a little time to redo the patio area with some simple changes. I got a new umbrella, cushions and such pretty butterfly outside pillows. I got those items at Lowes and I even got some flowers to add a little more color out there.

I have enjoyed having my morning coffee out there watching and listening to the birds sing and watch the sunrise. For some reason I have been getting up earlier. I was up kinda late last night so I am moving a little slower today but hey..it's Monday! I have cleaning to do, dinner to get in the crockpot, and a pair of shorts to exchange. Plus Scott should be home an hour or so early so I have got to just get moving! And here's even more I want to accomplish this week ↓

This weeks to do’s

  • Get prescriptions from Walgreens.
  • Get the new drying rack put together. That should be fun.
  • Try to walk once a day for 30 minutes.
  • Paint nails...which I don't enjoy that much.
  • Look for new living room furniture. Yep.. it's about time.
  • Order Scott's birthday present.
  • Figure out what excursions we are doing while on the Cruise. We have to pick them out and get them paid for because they book up.
  • Clean up the DVRS.
  • Put plants out in the rain one day this week to water and rinse them off.
  • Clean out and organize under kitchen sink.
  • Work in planner....things got changed around.
  • Dump photos from phone for storage.
  • Add new menu to chalkboard wall.
  • Check on movie times for Tuesday's Day Date.
  • Clean out car before Scott takes it and brings the Mini Cooper.
  • Make time for a board game with Jackson.
  • Give the jet bathtub cleaned really well...all around the jets and such. It needs it.
  • Order a vote for Hilary Teeshirt. Yep..I sure am.
  • Order trash service. I hate taking it to the dump all the time. So we are paying for it
  • Make more time to read.
  • Package up giveaway prizes and mail out this week.
  • Toss all pillows in the dryer a little at a time to freshen up.
  • Wake up!! I am so sleepy today!
  • Fertilize new plants on a day with no rain.
  • Put away laundry....story of my life. * Sigh

Little Blessings

Being I haven't been able to get the Thankful Thursday blog posts up in a while, I thought I would include some of those little blessings with you in these week in review blog post. ♥

♥ My spoils me. He really does. I am not always deserving of it but it's a blessing to have such a giving husband.

♥ Seeing Jackson play with the neighborhood kids. He is so shy that it has taken over 2 years to get him comfortable all while I am ready to move.. But I am here still because its so nice that he is actually going outside and playing with his friends instead of being in his room on the xbox.

♥ Romeos clean bill of health. I want that cat to be around as long as possible. He is so loved. I thought for sure she was going to tell me that he was overweight. But NOPE! She said he is picture of great health. Loved that!

♥ The food at the Melting Pot was delicious but nothing beats that chocolate pot at the end. I was seriously in some kind of high by time I was done. It was amazing and I savored every bite!

♥ The birds are back to singing to me.I just love it.

♥ Catching up with all the women in my life these past few days has been so amazing. I have a wonderful family and wonderful friends who inspire me and who always lift me up. Each of them are complete blessings.

♥ Listening to my mom giggle and laugh about the cruise we are all going on. She is so happy and it's infectious. :)
