GRWM: Featuring Bare Minerals Products! | Video |

Thursday, September 3, 2015

Hello friends! I hope you are having a wonderful evening. It's been such a busy day around here for me. I did all the weekly cleaning and then worked on some organization projects. I also took some time to plan for the month of September...working on the big family calendar. Plus I have taken a ton of calls today. All reasons, this video is going up a bit later.

I don't pretend to be some big makeup artist or beauty guru but I do get asked a lot about what I am wearing when I am on video. I happened to share the look I was wearing in the reflecting/looking back video with a darker eye. Most every thing I used was Bare Minerals and I think you will be able to see the coverage. I will say though, the dark eye look is not my everyday look. I just don't wear that much on a day to day basis. I am sharing it because a bunch of you guys wanted to know which eye shadows I used and how I did it. Everything is in the video below. Hope you enjoy!

I plan on coming back in the next few weeks and sharing 3 different looks you can get from the Bare Minerals Palette all in one rather quick video. :) Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out this video. I am so appreciative of you following along, leaving your comments and just being wonderful subscribers! Have a great night. I'll see ya tomorrow. xx

Hello friends! I hope you are having a wonderful evening. I am back sharing a new → Get Ready w/ Me ← video sharing some of the new Bare Mineral products I have been using. This is my go to makeup right now...it's easy, fast and looks natural! I hope you enjoy.

As you could see in the video, it gives me a nice amount of coverage with the proper blending and it looks very natural. I was kinda shocked at how well the Bare Minerals Matte Foundation did on my skin. It felt amazing. It looked natural and it's good for the skin. :) I would love to know what your experiences has been with the Bare Mineral products. I would also love to know your favorites before I place another order. Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting. If you are new here, I would love it if you took a few minutes to subscribe!

Avon Q110 - Mocha Latte Eye Look!

Friday, January 11, 2013
Its a rainy day around here so what better to do than play in some makeup! I created this soft smokey look using the Avon True Color Quad in Q110 . I have been waiting a while to play with the beautiful colors in this quad. I paired it up with one of the black Avon Glimmerstick Liqui-glide pencils. I finished it off with a couple of coats of

the Clinque High Impact Volume Extreme Mascara!

Today's Look... Featuring Maybelline Color Tattoo - #25 Bad to the Bronze

Wednesday, November 28, 2012

I haven't done a ton of Today's Looks lately and I thought that I would do one today because I am still totally in love with the Maybelline Color Tattoo Cream Shadows. I think I own the entire collection but I had to just pick one or recommend just one it would have to be this one!!

This is such a beautiful brown bronzy color.. yes, I know have done other posts about this one but I just LOVE IT as much now as I did many months ago when I bought it.

As you can see with the picture above, you can wear it light or you can build it up for a more dramatic look. For Today's look..I had my entire make up done in about 6 minutes.. and I just used my finger to blend the color in for a light wash of pretty brown color. I don't have crease problems with these little creamy pots. I don't even use a primer with them either. However, if you have oily lids.. you might want to. You can also layer powder shadows on top if you want. Which I do a lot but for easy fast application.. I just blend in the color with my fingers and it works great!

For the rest of my face today.. I just used Clinque Pour Refining Foundation .. some Milani Bronzer Smashbox full exposure mascara and some Revlon Just Bitten Lip Balm Stain.

I think this is perfect for any day you are wanting to hurry up with the make up process.. try the Maybelline Tattoo post in Bad to the Bronze because I know it would look great on any skin tone!

Happy Wednesday!

Today's Look!! =)

Today's Look w/ Maybelline Color Tattoo Eye Shadows

Wednesday, February 1, 2012
So this was actually yesterdays look.. but as requested I am trying to get some more Today's Looks up for you guys. I did a ton of them last year, but I have slowed down a bit.. However, I have read all your emails and comments from Youtube and I am getting more looks done.

This look I am really only going to focus on the eyes.

Here was the full look...

For my eyes I used..

The Maybelline Color Eye Tattoo in

Both.. # 15 Audacious Asphalt & also # 05 Too Cool

I didn't use a primer at all with these.

What I did was just layer on the Asphalt color

on my lid and worked it up in a cat eye shape. I used a Real Techniques flat brush to apply the color.. Remember, synthetic brushes work BEST with creams. I added the white - Too Cool- to my brow bone. I also worked the grey color on the outside corners of my eyes to give it a little more dramatic effect.

You can see here that I went above my crease to give the illusion of bigger eyes.

I took some of that grey cream shadow under my bottom lash line, lined my upper and lower lash in with a soft black pencil.. and added 3 coats of black mascara. Then for a little something extra, I took a little blue mascara and added it to the tips of my lashes.

I wanted to show you guys that you can use the Color Tattoo Cream Shadows not only as a base for powder shadows, but alone too. I liked this look a lot. It was fast and simple and it lasted on me all day..

As for the rest of the face..

Foundation, Concealer,  Powder, Bronzer, Blush, and a nude lip.

When doing a more dramatic look.. its good idea to keep the lips lighter!

Hope you like it!!

I will be doing more looks in the coming weeks!

Have you been using these little pots of cream shadows yet? I would love to hear from you and I would LOVE to see what looks you are doing. Send your pictures in ( it can be just of your eyes, if you prefer ) to mrskishajaggers@gmail.com !!!!

Have a great day!

Smokey Purple MAC Look

Thursday, January 19, 2012
Recently I received an email asking if I could do a purple smokey look with MAC products.. Well since I don't normally do Today's Looks anymore or do many post with high end make up.. I thought I would!

Here is the look.. The products I used are at the bottom..

I didn't smoke it out too much. Clearly you could add as much depth as you want but it was daytime when I was wearing this look so I thought this was plenty.

As you can see its a mixture of purples.. from a light silvery purple for a highlight, a medium purple for my crease and a darker purple to smoke it out.

This look is not complicated at all. Its all about layering and building to get the look you want.

Here are the products I used.

MAC Silverware and To The Ball ES from the 6 Beauties Play It Cool Palette

MAC Permaplum Powerpoint Pencil

MAC Revenge is Sweet Gloss

MAC Zoom Fast Lash Mascara

Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess Illuminating Bronzer

Foundation was Neutrogena Healthy Skin foundation which I love!

When doing a smokey eye the key is to practice.. and its really important to blend.. Also even with MAC products I like to do my foundation first but not powder until I am done with the eyes. That way if you have any fall out you can easily clean it up with a little concealer or foundation.

If you don't have the MAC shadows that I used, there are plenty of drugstore products like either the

Maybelline New York in Amethyst Smokes or Maybelline New York Lavender Fields.

Hope you like it!

Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Liner vs Loreal Lineur Intense Liner

Tuesday, November 1, 2011
The other day I picked up this ..

Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Eye liner..

As you can see its waterproof, smudge proof and is suppose to last up to 24 hours..

Its got very simple instructions..

It also comes with a little brush ..

As you can see its pretty flat and not too pointed..

You can see this is a gel.. and it will glide on easy..

And here is the look I got with the Gel..

My thoughts on this is.. The gel is nice.. the brush needs a little work. I prefer a pointer thinner brush to apply gel eyeliner or liquid eye liner.

When I compare it to this eyeliner..

That I got a few weeks ago..

with its felt point applicator..

Here is the results I got with this product..

see the difference. This one is much much more precise.. As you can see i even use it under the lashes and it didn't smudge. One thing about this liner that it tends to be a little more shinny but I love it. I think the applicator makes it so easy. Hands down the Loreal Lineur Intense Liner is one of my top picks right now.. I can't always seem to find it at CVS or even Walmart but I can usually find it at Walgreens.

For some reason.. I have really been loving the cat eye look. I think I have wore it every day for over a week now.. I have been playing around and seeing what different looks I can come up with. I don't always line the bottom.. but I think it looks better when the bottom line is connected to the top line. Also this look would be 1000% better with fake lashes. But just for a normal day.. I go with a few coats of mascara and I'm done. I really like wearing the winged eyeliner look with browns, golds, and nudes. I think it just looks amazing that way. I know many of you struggle with getting this shape with the eyeliner and also making both eyes look the same. I am thinking about doing a post on how to do a cat eye look but its going to be extremely hard to do it with pictures and I am just not sure about doing it on video or not..

A couple of my tips are ( and this applies to Gel, Liquid or even pencil ) ..

Start in the middle of your eye.. as you work towards the corner go thinner with your line..

Then come back to the outer corner and work on the shape of the wing.. Most of the time, I come from the bottom and bring it up and fill it in..When you wing it out the tail should be tapered up and go very thin at the end.  You could also hold a piece of tissue from the corner of your eye at a angle that goes up towards the end of your eye brow, then draw your line.

A long time ago when I first started doing winged liner, I would use a pencil to get the shape and I would also use a q tip to get the lines cleaned up..  then carefully add my shadow to my eye and then go over the pencil with a liquid liner. And that really helped. I have also used a white soft liner to get the line right then went over that with my liquid liner.

For me now.. I just put the shadow on and then the liner.. but what I suggest..

PRACTICE.. PRACTICE.. PRACTICE..

So hands down.. I am more in love with the Loreal Lineur Instense Liner Liner!!

If you haven't got any yet.. try it!!

I think you will love it.. but make sure its the one with the felt tip instead of the brush because it works much easier!!

Wore Out..

Wednesday, August 3, 2011

Hi.. Hope you guys had a great night.. We headed off to the pool for a few hours with the kids + 1

This is Morgan and she lives down the street!

She made fast friends with Brittany and Jackson!

I was tired before we ever left.. Scott was too..

But the kids really wanted to go.. and they were having a fun time!

It was a really pretty sunset.

There goes Jackson!

I just loved that sky!!

Well we got home around 9.. The kids were hungry so I made some scrambled eggs with dill and toast for a bedtime snack.. Then they went to bed.. along with Scott and it was only a matter of minutes before I was passed out on the couch. Lights on.. Tv on.. kitchen a mess.. laundry waiting on me.. and I crashed out.. for about 2 1/2 hours. I woke up about 1230 from those dang cats jumping all over me! It was good anyway.. I needed to get up and get things ready for the morning. I even had a cup of coffee and that was maybe not such a good idea. But I'm still tired and after this post I will craw in my fluffy soft bed and start dreaming.

Today was better than yesterday. I really made an effort to try to stay positive today and not allow myself to get frazzled. For the most part it was a pretty good day!

I tried going though my emails to decide what ones I was going to answer today.. I didn't get around to that but I am going to answer them now. I just hope they see these answers on this post and not an individual post..I could have responded in email form but I figured they are blog questions so I am going to answer them on the blog.. If its a personal email.. I would certainly not do it this way!
...................................................................................................................................................
The first question I picked out to answer is..

Why haven't I done any today's looks and what do I tend to wear daily..

Things have been kinda crazy around here. Right now I don't have time a lot of days to play in the make up and take pictures. The kids take a lot of my time. There are days that I skip out on the make up.. They are far between but I do have those days sometimes.

But here is what I have been wearing the past few weeks.

Foundation, Concealer,  Powder, Bronzer, blush, a little highlighter and then on my eyes I have been wearing..

A brown smoked out eye. I have been using the Cover Girl Shimmering Sands palette and when I have been lining my upper and lower lids with a black coal pencil and kinda smoking out the corners. Then a couple coats of mascara and I am done. Clearly is this a lot more than a lot of people wear on a daily basis but I am girl who loves eye shadow. You could make this look more dramatic if you like.. and you could also add some lashes too if you want. Then I just grab what lip gloss is the closest to me and I am done! This look takes me about 10 minutes to do and is pretty easy!

.........................................................................................................................................

Here is the 2nd comment.. and question..

You didn't care when your precious cat hurt your son yet you bitch all the time about pit bulls attacking kids. Hypocrite.

WOW.. let me first say..

IDIOT..

I didn't know the email address this came from but I am pretty sure I know where this came from.. I have a couple of old friends who were not just friends with me but friends with each other. One owned a pit bull and that dog attacked my other friends daughter.. and I took the side of the child. Mainly because I think we are all responsible for what our pets do..

But lets look at this a little bit..

You see the teeth on this dog? The jaws???

Now do you see the teeth on this cat?

What do you think the difference is???? My cat would not do near the damage one of those mean freaking dogs would do. I would never just allow my pets to hurt my children and do nothing about it. But this is Gabby we are talking about. One of the sweetest cats ever with a shy personality. Jackson loves her but also hates that she does not love him back so he torments the hell out of her. She has only done it a couple times and she did not bite him.. not one time.. She jumped up at him and hissed and then the other time she hissed and smacked his foot.

In no way at all is my cat like a pit bull. I clearly think those dogs are one of the most dangerous dogs on the planet. I don't think its how they are raised.. I think its in their DNA to fight.. and you NEVER know when one is just going to flip out and attack someone. I hate them.. Maybe its not fair.. But just as its your right to own one ( in most states ) , its equally my right to hate them. In my home that would be a deal breaker.. I would leave, get divorced, fight and just flip out if one of those dogs were brought into my home.

So my answer to you is this..

If you don't know the difference between a cat and a pit bull and the strength of both.. then you are dumbass and maybe you should have any pets. Sorry.. I know you are a reader of this blog but that is one of the most silly questions I have ever heard. Its not like I have a panther or jaguar roaming around the house.. They are Persian cats and the damage they would do to a person compared to a pit bull is nothing. Pit bulls don't only bite with extreme pressure and force, their jaws also lock and they try to hold on to the prey ( person or animal ) until they are dead.. I know my kittys or any house cat for that matter could or would ever do that someone.

Question answered..

And if you have any questions at all feel free to email me at..

...........................................................................................................................................

Sorry if that was rude but it kinda got to me. I got the email last night and got to thinking about it and I got pretty upset just thinking of the comparison.

Anyway.. I have more emails and questions to sort through and I will answer more as soon as I can.

Tomorrow we have no big plans.. Just hanging out around here and enjoying the day! I need to get some pictures of the kids so we are going to be doing that too.. But getting us all cleaned up at the same time is not so easy!

Well its almost 3 am and I need sleep..

Today's Look

Wednesday, May 25, 2011
Today I went for what I call a

Sunset Eye

look..

I think for a lot of you yellow is a scary color to try to wear. Well if you are nice and bronzed up it can really look great on.. I am not listing the products one by one.. This is pretty simple and I bet if you try it you will like it!

Normal routine on face..

Foundation, concealer, powder bronzer.. blush..highlight and brows filled in..

I started off using a Revlon cream shadow across my entire eye..
Then I took a normal yellow from a big ELF pallete and applied it to my lid.. I then took my bronzer and used it to countur with. I didnt really want to smoke it out.. I just wanted to keep it pretty light. I used a light shimmery white for my brow highligh.. I did take my black liner and apply it to my uper and lower lids. I took a pencil brush and blended it out a little bit..

Added some mascara and was done..

Very understated for yellow!
