Memories made @ Lake Lure!!

Yesterday we had a fun filled day at Lake Lure as many of you know! It was a great day for the most part and if you want to check out the full post, click the read more link on the left!

Exhausted Hellooooo!!!

Hello everyone.. ~ YAWN ~.. its been such a long day for us around here! First off I posted the pictures from the lake from last Sunday.. Moss Lake.. ( totally different lake than what we went to today ) If you want to see that pic heavy post you can click right here!!

Today we headed off for Lake Lure. Its about an hour from the house and one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. It was amazing.. I took a ton of pictures that I have to go through and get uploaded.. The post will be super super long.. so get prepared!! 

I think the only part we got a little tired of was the kids complaining about hiking.. Honestly.. we have lazy kids.. they would rather spend the day in front of all the game boxes, tvs, and computers instead of getting outside and explore.. We just didn't listen and moved them right along. I won't lie.. it was hard as hell. I am sure I burned a billion calories today. Once we hiked to the water fall, they all quickly stopped complaining!!  I love this picture above.. these are our young Jaggers family members.. not the youngest but they are still considered the little kids.. Our grandchildren are babies still and our we have the older kids too! I love our large family.. It will be the best Thanksgiving or Christmas when they all can be here at the same time.. 

Anyway, we hiked for about 3.5 hours and then took off to the beach where we 

enjoyed the late afternoon. It was much better to hike first and then swim.. the water felt really good... and the view was 

breathtaking! Its truly one of my favorite places. 

We stayed until the beach closed up and somehow.. I have no idea how.. the kids convinced Scott on the ride home to go to Family Night Swim at the pool. I thought they were all crazy for wanting to go do yet more swimming and running around.. Where does that energy come from? I sure don't have it.. But we got home about 7pm and left about 720. C-R-A-Z-Y-..

So we spent our night 

at the pool... I swam for about an hour and then I sat out.. I almost fell asleep at our table.

At 930 we left the pool and ended our fun but exhausting day. We came home.. all got showers and had fast microwaveable meals...and in bed they went. Jackson told me that he didn't even want to watch tv at bed.. that says how tired he is..I could fall over.. I am on the couch and don't have any idea where I am going to muster up the strength to make the coffee, pick up the living room, and get breakfast ready.. I am just done. We all plan on sleeping in as long as we want tomorrow.. well, not husby.. =( I will probably be up at 7am.. I don't know what is up with that.. but thats been the case for a while now. I don't just get up and get active at that hour.. but I do turn on the news.. get some coffee..and lay around until everyone is up. The good thing about summer is for the kids there are no alarm clocks.. and we go on our own schedules! 

Well, I am off to get things done.. I have a lot of pictures and videos to keep in the coming days that I will be working on!

Time To Go!!

The kids are getting ready so I have a couple of minutes to say helloooo and happy Tuesday! Its husbys day off and we are off to Lake Lure. Its an exciting day for me because the beauty of the surroundings goes deep into my soul. I'm serious.. I will get some video to show you.. if it works like it should! Last time it was hard to see my camera in the sun on the beach..but I will try again this time. I can only hope that if you have the chance to visit the enchanting area, do so. Its perfect for a family trip or even a private adults only trip! 

I couldn't stop taking it in last time and I am sure I will feel the same way this time too!

Goodnight! ♥

Another long day.. another exhausting night! But I say it with a =) on my face!! It was a pretty good day.. an easy day at home for the kids.. not so easy for me. I had a ton of things to do around the house, and some how I managed to get most of them done. I won't lie.. I took MANY breaks but who cares as long as you get it all done right!?

Top of Rock Pulpit Video!!

Once we climbed up the mountain a looooong way I got a few seconds of video from the top of Pulpit Rock. It was one of the hardest hikes I have ever done.. It was mostly stairs to get up that far but it was an amazing view!!!

One Of The ~ BEST ~ Days Ever!!

Well as many of you know.. we headed out to Lake Lure today for a fun family get away! Before I start going through the pictures I must say that I have found my second jewel of North Carolina. The first of course was the Biltmore Estate..I have not found much here I like but slowly its starting to change!

Hope you enjoy a little from our day!

It was a really pretty drive and it didn't take too long..

Not even here 5 minutes and I already love it!

Then we went into Chimney Rock which is kinda like Gatlinburg Tenn.

Tons of shops and things to do!

The mountains were so beautiful.

Again.. what a beautiful area..

I just fell in love with it here.

It was so much better than I thought it would be..

The kids were all pumped up to go!

That mountain in the back drop was so beautiful. I kept telling the kids to really look around and never forget this exact moment.

It wasn't a huge beach but it was really nice..

It was one of those moments that you know you will never forget

I also loved this area where you could by 15 water balloons for $4.00 and have a water balloon fight. They have this launchers which worked pretty well!

This little house kinda sits in the middle of the road.. Wonder who lives there!

Omg.. That is where we are hiking to!

Yep.. $34.00 to go hiking.. Was thinking to myself that this should be free..

Time to go!

This was taken right at the beginning. I dressed for comfort.. Shorts.. old shirt.. I knew what the day was going to hold so I dressed for it.. But..I had my bathing suit on under and it was wet and kinda made my t-shirt heavy!

Then we were off to go down the OutCroppings Trail.

They call it Moderate to Strenuous.. Hummmm..

Tons and Tons of steps!

To get to the top of the of Pulpit Rock its like 500 steps. It was .5 miles with a elevation of 2280.

Honestly.. it about killed me..

It got to a point where I was having trouble breathing.

Almost there!

Now that is a view!!!!!

Wasn't even that nervous about being so high up..

It was just utterly amazing.

About time to head to the next trail..

The Hickory Nut Falls Trail..

This trail leads to a 404 ft waterfall. There was also ancient cliffs as you wind through it.

We were wore out and ready to head towards the car.. But it was still a loooong walk!

But Scott took time to explain things to Jackson about nature..

And we moved right along!

I just couldn't believe how beautiful this place was!

Had to stop at the cave!

Where it was nice and cool!

No way in hell I was going back up those steps.. again!

So we kept going around the woods to the parking lot.

But before we got there I twisted my left ankle and skinned up ..

my right knee. =(

But I got up and kept going!

And before we knew it. we made it to the road.. Scott went and got the car .. so I wouldn't have to walk all the way..

We were so exhausted by that point.. but we needed to eat again.

So we found this great little

Picnic area on the side of the mountain where we got out and got our cooler out and had some sandwiches. All along the mountains are these areas. Such a nice park..

Totally worth the $ 34.00 !!!

Before we knew it.. Both kids crashed out..

I dozed off too.. But we stopped at a fruit market and picked up..

a bunch of yummy fruits and veggies and headed home.

So now I sit here.. beat up.. tired.. well.. more like exhausted but totally happy that we had a great family day and made a ton of memories. I keep telling everyone that we we leave this planet.. and our life is over.. all we can take with us is our love and memories.. I hope that our day inspires you and your family to get out and make those memories that will last forever.

I am heading to bed.. Its been a super long day. Tomorrow we have NO plans.. except sleeping in and hanging out at home. So I will chat with you guys more about this trip.. ( got so much to tell you about it! ) and much more!

But Sleep first!!
