Yesterday we had a fun filled day at Lake Lure as many of you know! It was a great day for the most part and if you want to check out the full post, click the read more link on the left!
The night before I got mostly everything ready.. so heading out in the morning would be easier.. With husby and 3 kids it takes a lot to go on a day trip!
After we were all up and dressed we were out the door in the car heading to one of the most beautiful places ever!
Here is something random.. we needed Bandaids and I found these adorable

They come in
3 different scenes.. Adorable!!
Anyway, we took off and about an hour or so later, we
arrived to the lake!
We decided to put the beach off last and go hiking first!!
So into Chimney Rock!
You have to pay to go hiking.. and I think that is ridiculous. but I don't make the rules..
For 2 adults and 3 children it cost us..
$51.00
and last year it was
$34.00 but we do have an extra child this year.. There was a $6 raise on adult tickets in one year.. and there was also a raise on the kids.. In 1 year it went up a lot.. Hummmm.. It is a beautiful place so I guess its worth it but I still think its bullshit to charge so much to get into the park for hiking..
When we got out of the car we took a minute to take in the real beauty and also pose for some pictures!
We decided to take the elvator this year to get to the top of Chimney Rock.. last time we climbed it and about died..
But we had a drink and
bathroom break first.
We zipped up to the top of the rock..
and the view is amazing!
The kids seemed to really like it!
But none of them wanted to climb 45 more minutes to the top of the other rock!
which I was happy about!
Then it was break time..
Brittany was a little upset but she cheered up..
And then we were off to do more hiking to the water fall!
None of the kids were happy about all the walking. It was crazy listening to them moan and groan.. They all would have rather been watching tv, playing video games or any kind of electronics.. but I just had to keep encouraging them because in the end they would see this..

We all took a break before
we headed up more stairs..

We took off and found a great spot for lunch..
I wrap hot dogs in buns in foil and put them in the sun.. and we always
have a warm lunch!

We took back off to the beach area...
and the cool water felt amazing!
Look at how beautiful it was..
They have a splash area..
Thats really sweet
but my husband and kids were taking off to the slides!!
They loved it!!
But before long they were running through the splash area and husby
went too!

the umbrella made all the difference.
Today would have
been a great day for a scavenger hunt!!
The kids had a blast in the water..
I am still not use seeing Brittany run around in a bikini..
But I am trying to get use to it! She's so darn cute!
We thought about taking out the paddle boats..
but the kids decided on water balloons instead..
They have a big water balloon area to use..
Scott filled them up.. I think it was a $5 for a bunch of balloons..
Thankfully husby got them all filled up..
It wasn't long after
that the kids had a big water balloon fight!!
Then back to the beach they went!
We played out there for hours..
Finally it was time to come home and all the kids were
wore out.. but we had a great day!
But thats not where our night ended!!
