DITL Vlog: Week in Review: November 16-22, 2015 w/ Weekly To Do's

Monday, November 23, 2015

Hello friends! I hope you are having a wonderful Monday. As many of you know... I post a week in review recapping what happened over the week & weekend. Its something that I have been doing off and on for years. Its just a simple way to give you guys a glimpse into our week. I have changed up the vlogging schedule where I will be uploading a Day in the life vlog Monday...as always and then another on Thursday. However this week, I am only sharing one vlog. Hope you enjoy!

So this past week I worked really hard at getting things together. I mean really together. Day organized better so I could get more done. Nights running on a schedule that is working well. And life getting normal around here. It's been a long time coming. For weeks on end I have felt almost out of place in this big bad world even in my own life....my own home. I have been behind on everything from laundry, cleaning, blog post and videos. I have been behind on errands and shopping. I have been behind on answering comments. But this past week, I really did well at working through it all. I stuck to our normal cleaning routines and I actually did it over 2 days but it allowed me to do more per floor that way but it seemed easier. I guess we are slowing getting rid of clutter around here. But I feel like we still have a long way to go to live more simply. I am still really happy with the Bio Cera Wash Balls that my mom got me a while back. No more laundry soap which is saving us a lot of money and it actually works. I used a lot of my old trusted favorites to clean up around the house including a lot of my method products but I pretty much stuck with Clorox wipes since we have all been sick. I thought better safe than sorry.
I still need to make some time to answer youtube comments but I feel kinda normal again. And here we are the week of Thanksgiving when the schedules are going to be even crazier. I am super happy that we have some family coming in. I think we will have an amazing time even if we don't follow a routine. However, in order for things to run smooth here on the blog and my youtube channel I have to really work hard to stick to a schedule. I don't think I will have a video up everyday but I hope to have more up than not! Again it depends how much I really get done today and tomorrow in terms of the videos. Once family is here, it will be hard to record anything except vlog material. And yesssssssss I will be vlogging through Thanksgiving! :) I might just do a vlog for that special day on it's own but not totally sure yet!

On Friday I finally got out and did a little shopping. It looks like a lot but I took a lot of time to make sure I had every coupon I could find. With family coming for Thanksgiving plus all the meals before and after, I need to save as much as I could. Thankfully mom is bringing the turkey and a bunch of other stuff for the dinner which is super nice which meant I didn't have to buy as much. If you missed the haul it's right here. It was a looong day and I was totally wore out but I came home feeling good about every purchase. I still have a little more shopping to do today or tomorrow but I might just wait for mom to get here. It takes a lot of work to do all the shopping, getting in from the car, putting it all out, filming it all, editing and then getting it put away. Thankfully Zane didn't mind helping put it away but the pantry is a bit of a mess right now and that's another job I want to work on today or tomorrow as well. I don't have time to really change things up but it totally needs an hour or so of my time to get it cleaned up and organized. Mom and everyone else is going to be getting in there plus it's super hard for me to find stuff. It's going to be a busy busy week in our home....how about yours? Do you have any family coming in or preparations you really need to get done fast? I have a couple of cleaning videos that might be helpful if you have company coming.

The weather this week was deceiving to say the least. Some mornings were frosty...the sun came out and melted that all way but it was not so warm. It looked warm but the second I opened the door that cold air hit me right in the face. It's been a lot of rainy evenings and nights. Other days it was a touch warmer but this week in South Carolina was not warm by my definition. Our big dog Cooper seems to really enjoy the cooler weather and Zane has been loving it too! He's not use to the colder temperatures being he's from Louisiana. But it kinda peps him up but it just makes me want to stay inside and keep warm. I actually can't wait until we get back up north so he can really experience a true big snow! We don't get much here ever but hopefully next year that will change. :) However, I am going to have to get use to being in colder weather. My body just doesn't like it at all.

The rest of the weekend was spent at home with the boys. I am living in a house with 3 boys and just little ole me! They are the sweetest though and I adore all the kids.

On Sunday the boys had a epic game of Monopoly! They were super loud but having a great time. Scott totally kicked their butts but Zane hung in there as long as he could. Jackson was the first one out of the game for landing on some property with a lot of hotels and just like that....he was done. I was busy cleaning up the house and preparing for the new week while listening to them go on and on. It's super cute to listen to. I thought about just turning on the camera and sitting it down to catch the conversation because it was that funny but I didn't! I didn't want to catch anything private. On TV last night there were so many shows. We enjoyed the American Music Awards, Madam Secretary, The Good Wife, Oprah's Master Class and even Flesh and Bone. I totally loved the American Music Awards. I love music and they didn't disappoint but the DVR had to the rest of the work so we wouldn't miss anything. I am sure it's going to take forever to get caught up but I totally watched The Good Wife and Flesh & Bone last night before bed....keeping me up wayyyy to late! Which totally means I need to get started on this long list of to do's:

:: Make some desserts today for Thanksgiving. → Pumpkin pies, pecan pies and cookies.
:: Try to get to bed earlier this week.
:: Make time to work out when possible.
:: Get the house cleaned up before mom arrives on Tuesday.
:: Make spare bedroom nice for family
:: Have boys clean up their rooms after school...ToDaY!
:: Brush out Gabby and Cupcake
:: Clean the ceiling fans....this has become wayyy familiar. Should just be a part of weekly cleaning I suppose.
:: Clean and update chalkboard wall.
:: Try to pre record a couple of videos today and tomorrow.
:: Try to remember to buy some firewood.
:: Quick Pantry cleanup
:: Run to the store after mom gets here.
:: Buy a new selfie stick! Yep! We want some great family photos...and those little sticks really help!
:: Have the kids and Scott help me to get the garage cleaned up some.
:: Go over Thanksgiving menu and grocery list one last time.
:: Paint nails before family start arriving.
:: Try to air out the house somehow before company arrives.
:: Start going over December Holiday Plans. I never work on Christmas till after Thanksgiving.
:: Pay some bills.

Here's some inspiration to take with you along the week:

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I know that the vlog and blog post were kinda long but it is what it is. I know many of you enjoy longer vlogs so hopefully it's not a big deal. I hope you all have a wonderful week. I won't be uploading everyday but you will hopefully see a few new videos popping up for me through out the week. I have a update after Thanksgiving that will explain a lot so don't miss that one for sure! Happy Monday! xx
