Hello friends! I hope you are having a great start to the week. I am still trying to get coffee in my system and wake up! Normally every Monday or at the beginning of the week, I post a week in review recapping what happened over the week & weekend. Its something that I have been doing off and on for years. Its just a simple way to give you guys a glimpse into our weekend. I also vlogged a little each day which you can see in the video below. I have been trying to move all my video's to my main channel including the vlogs but for right now I am uploading them to both channels. I think that is the best way to do it right now but eventually they will probably all move to my housewife life main youtube channel. I hope you don't mind but I have been trying to figure out a way to make everyone happy. I don't expect you to watch them twice but now you will be able to find my vlogs on both channels.

This past week:
I think the one word that sums up last week was - WET - It rained basically every day and while I totally love the rain, after about 10 days it got a little old! :) In fact, last night it just poured down which was nice being able to drift off to sleep with the sound of a roaring thunderstorm. Meanwhile, the kids and my ex husband have been enjoying a little more sunshine up north. Jackson has really been enjoying hunting and fishing...you know all the things we don't do with his sister and his dad. I am happy they have been making a lot of good memories together. Its hard on Jackson not having us all in one place but having some great memories to hold on to during the school year makes everything better. And do you see the size of those fish!? I spent a lot of time at the beginning of the week, working on planning and getting things figured out for the upcoming week. My planner is like our life hub that makes everything and I mean everything run more smoothly.
This past Tuesday was actually Scott's off day instead of his normal day - Wednesday -. So we woke up easy to what we thought would be a drier day. The kitty cats even enjoyed the damp fresh air. It felt more like a fall day outside than summer. We got ourselves cleaned up and decided we would head out, get some lunch and do some shopping. The burgers were amazing and shopping was a lot of fun. We always can shop well together. :) We went to TJ Max and found more clothes and some housewares along with a quick trip to the Dollar Store where I found Skittle Candy Candles for just $1 and they smell amazing! Scott even made it to a late afternoon golf game even though it started raining again. He stayed out there and had one of his best games in a long time.
Wednesday popped up before I was ready for it. We had a early morning therapy appointment and then I decided to do a little more shopping and get my nails done. I wore acrylic nails for many years but I decided a while ago that I was going to give my nails a break and try to grow them out myself. Yea..they never really got to that stage after a year and a half so I just bit the bullet. I also hate hate hate sitting for hours on end in a nail salon. But honestly, I am tired of them looking so bad in photos and video that I just did it. I am much happier and actually Scott is too. He agrees that they look much better than my own! I also thought I got the wrong color foundation but was shocked when it looked to be a better color match than the one I had used before. Totally happy I didn't have to return it!
Thursday I really didn't feel good. I spent the majority of the day sleeping and doing desk work. I am so grateful that on days when I feel bad, I can just break with my own schedule and take care of myself. I know many of you guys work and can't always do that but it did help....I guess. It helped move me into Friday which was another bad day for me. I was still feeling sick and then Scott and I got into it a little bit and not just my day was bad but my evening sucked too. I have had people actually say that we have a perfect life or we want our lives to be as perfect as we portray. What a crock of shit. We have good days and bad days just like anyone else and Friday was certainly no exception.
Saturday I woke up and things were a little better but there was still some tension there that we tried to overcome as the day went on. What made things worse, was another family situation popped up beyond our control which just made me upset once again. There wasn't much I could say or do about it. People are going to say and do what they want ... nothing I can do to control or change that. But I am learning that they ( haters, trouble makers, difficult people ) are becoming my greatest teachers. They are teaching me more about myself and more about what I will accept and what I won't. Plus so many other lessons that maybe I will explain in a future blog post or video. With everything that was going on, Scott thought getting out and going to have a quiet dinner would be nice. We went strolling around downtown where I saw for the first time that you could actually rent bikes to ride around. Love that!
I had a hard time making a decision on where to eat. We actually went into a couple restaurants and while waiting to be seated, walked out because it just didn't sound good. Really I was just upset and was pretty much forcing myself to eat and finally settled on Applebee's . Nothing fancy.. just a quick dinner was the thought. However, I got 1/2 through eating when tears filled my eyes which became noticeable to everyone including my husband. Not 1 minute later and I had tears streaming down my face like a river. It was a emotional night. Scott came from his side and comforted me and just reminded me that he loves me and all would be ok. I came home and went straight to bed. No shower, no fixing the coffee, no nothing except sleep. But before I cuddled up in the bed Scott let me know that we were heading to the zoo on Sunday. I think he just felt sorry for me and wanted to see me smile.
Sunday we woke up early and headed out to the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia SC. I had been there before many years ago and I was excited to go back. Feeding the Giraffes was a high light for me! I am not a huge fan of zoo's or even places like Sea World but I love animals and feel like most of the time in the Zoo's they are being well cared for. And we paid $2 for .10 worth of lettuce to feed them! And there were tons of others feeding them too.. so they really are well fed!
Here's a few more pictures of our Sunday Fun Day!
Scott also had a good time. I think the break was much needed for both of us. In a way, it didn't feel like a relaxing day walking all around in the zoo in hot weather but we enjoyed the simple pleasures of walking the animals together at our own pace. We enjoyed ice cream and cotton candy and all the adorable animals. Scott liked the penguins the most. They were pretty darn cute!
