Happy Monday friends! I am running so behind on everything today but I would love to chat with you for a few minutes about the Avon Mega Effects Mascara! My review is in the video and more pictures and info is below. Hope you enjoy!

Avon Mega Effects Mascara, $10

This mascara is small.. compared to others but it packs a powerful punch! Here is what Avon claims..

This breakthrough mascara provides 24-hour volume, leaving lashes darker, denser and more dramatic. Get ready for a corner to corner lash transformation with our first ever Wonderbrush.

The Wonderbrush bends and adjusts to multiple angles capturing every lash, top to bottom. The unique brush fits the natural shape of lashes, coating them evenly with formula from root to tip. The extra surface area of the Wonderbrush bristles are designed to deliver 40% more mascara to the lash.*

Mega Effects Mascara provides a clump-proof, sweat-proof, non-flaking and non-smudging experience. Ophthalmologist-tested. .317 oz. net wt.

So they are calling this a " Wonderbrush " that adjusts to many angles to give you more ways to coat every lash from top to bottom.. Hummm.. it does have a pretty interesting brush! Lets take a look at it.

To me, it reminds me of a paint brush and that's exactly how I use it. I find that it does coat the lashes pretty well once I figured out how to use it. At first I was poking myself in the eye and smearing mascara all over my eye lids. It does take a little time to get use it. That's one of the reasons this review took me so long to get up. I just wanted to really get use to the brush. It has a small handle which at first made it harder to use but with the practice I was able to figure out what works best for me. If you watched the video above, you will see how I like to adjust the handle to coat my lashes. This brush allows me to get really close to my lash line almost giving a tight lining effect on both my top and bottom water lines. I think that how you apply this mascara will depend on YOU.  Everyone is going to be different with how they use it. I also tend to hold it sideways to get my outer lashes better.

The formula is a bit wet for my taste. Its also extremely black which I also love. You can build up the mascara but I like it to dry for a couple minutes before reapplying another coat. I was able to really build it up when I wanted for a more dramatic look and then other times it just left my lashes looking whispy and feathery. I have no problems with any kind of smudging or flaking and it comes off easy with makeup remover towelettes . This is not a waterproof mascara but they do claim it's sweat proof. I don't really know what that means but it holds my curl well, and stays on all day without any noticeable problems. Also when I first got it.. and made a mess on my lids over and over.. it wiped of easy then too.

If you like to try new things, this mascara is for you! I think its super interesting and I bet other mascara will follow suit. You can already find the ones with just the ball wands but this is more like a paint brush that coats your lashes with a very shinny black mascara.

Overall, I think this is a very interesting mascara. I like it. I don't know if I would go for it everyday because it takes a little more time to apply than a normal wand mascara. But it does coat really well and I think if it dries out a little more, it would be even better!

If you are interested in this new Avon product, and need a representative, check out my sister in laws blog or Avon page! She would be more than happy to help in any way!

Have you tried this? What do you think of the brush!?

I would love to hear from you!

  1. Thanks for sharing this. I was looking at the mascara in an Avon catalog and trying to figure our how I would use that brush and if would be more of a pain to use it. I think I might give it a try and test the angle of the brush like you did.
