Rain.. making a lazy day a lazy night.

The rain is here. Heavy rain. I wouldn't be surprised if the electric goes out.. the rain is pounding against the windows really hard. I think its the perfect end to an incredibly lazy day. I would rather the rain happen tonight rather than tomorrow we are out having fun at the zoo! 

Not much went on around here. I would have seriously stayed in my pjs if I could have. Husby made it home at a decent hour and we had a great time just lounging around the house. It was just a gloomy day and we both seemed to be pretty tired.  Most of the day we sat around and watched the .. 

Bourne Trilogy. Jackson played outside for a while and then came in and found something on tv too. 

We finally got up and headed out to the dealership. One of the reps gave him some interesting gifts that Scott forgot to bring home. He was so excited to give me this new cup he got.. Its a really nice to go cup.. he also got a thermos and a shirt for me. Love all the freebies he gets! I'll get some pictures soon. 

Then we headed to the market to get ingredients for smoothies tomorrow and to also pick up something fast and easy for dinner. Yes, dinner was already planned but I really didn't really want to put that much effort in it. 

On the way out.. husby TRIED to get some lottery tickets. Scanning his licenses didn't work so 

he didn't get any. =(  Guess were not winning tonight! 

For dinner Scott suggested soup and grilled cheese.. and I went right along with it! I could have that done in 5 minutes.. so I was totally happy with that suggestion! 

We all picked out our own soups.. I got..

and in about 5 minutes.. dinner was on the table!!

Super easy! 

I also decided to make some peanut butter cookies for our long ride tomorrow.. 

I really didn't want to do this either.. but I got busy scooping out cookie dough.. and 

popped them in the oven. 

I think this is the most effort I put out all day! 

In a few minutes later... the cookies were done.. 

and cooling! 

I got busy getting most of the stuff ready for tomorrow... including the 2 new Martha Stewart 

magazines that came in today. I got a year subscription for free from taking a 5 minute survey.. which I looooove!! I got the Oprah Magazine for free too! So I got these packed up because we will have a 2 hour ride to get there.. Yep.. not really feeling that but there are no close Zoos are around here. I went to this Zoo many years ago when Scott and I went to South Carolina to work. He had to work but I took the day off and went to the Zoo alone.. and I kinda felt more independent after that. I had never been any where by myself but that day I fed the Giraffes.. had a lot of snacks.. and totally enjoyed the day.. BUT I still missed having my husband beside me. So tomorrow.. we are going back to that very same Zoo and this time not only Scott but Jackson gets to see it for themselves! Those days were long before I was blogging and snapping pictures of everything so I couldn't find any to put up from them. =(

I got everything ready for tomorrow.. All the clothes are laid out.. I got my backpack filled up with the things we are going to need .. and not carrying a purse at all. I got all the phones charged and cameras charged.. I thought we could all grab one of those pancakes in a stick that I showed you in this Video and I also thought what better drink to take other than smoothies for our morning ride. So I got all that stuff ready.. Scott and Jackson are having stawberry and banana smoothies and I am having a mixed berry smoothie.. I got the new to go cup from the dealership tonight and I also went out and bought more to go cups just for the smoothies. 

I also got some lunched packed for us. We might end up eating in the park but I thought it would be nice to pack a cooler and go out and have a picnic. So I am taking food just in case. There is always a ton of things to do to get ready for any kind of trip.. including day trips. Its exhausting.. but its all done and we hope to be on the road by 10.. Get there by lunch time and then stay till about 5. We have the housesitter coming over a couple times to let Cooper out and make sure the house stays safe while we are out. We are so lucky to have such nice guy to come over and babysit the house and the animals when we are out. Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Mike!! We love you guys! 

I think all is a go for the cookout next weekend. I think a back to school cookout is just the thing to do next Saturday! It will have to be a dinner/evening kind of cookout being husby has to work but Sunday we are all going to be getting the kids ready to go back to school around here Monday! Woooooo- hooooo!!! Plus look who I get to see..

Jackson should love having another wild child to run around with! Plus I am hoping to have a few other friends over too! 

Anyway.. Its 1am.. I have to be up early to get out of the house and have a much needed..
