Hello! Its late and I should be closing my eyes but I thought I would take a few minutes to say hello and tell you goodnight! First off.. thank you if you are a returning reader that comes back to this blog every day. I love you guys! I get a lot of emails now and it makes me feel so good to hear from each and everyone of you. I know I am always running late with responding but I do eventually get around to it. And if you are a new reader.. thanks for stopping by and I hope you come back!
Anyway, today was a pretty nice day! I managed to get a lot done and also get a lot of posts up. I don't really know how I did it but I guess its just from not stopping. I either stayed busy with the kids or house and then when I did take a break to sit down for a few minutes, I got busy blogging.

Today the kids did so much better.
They both woke up in much better moods.. both got along really well even being stuck inside due to the
rain. It just poured down
most of the afternoon... which was really good for all our plants!
It did slow down off and on and the kids did get some time
outside.
Brittany took Super Cooper for many walks today..
And actually met some new neighborhood friends in doing so!
She is growing up so fast on me..
She hates the heat.. and normally wants to stay inside in the air conditioning!
I think she needs to get some sun and exercise!
Jackson stayed busy trying to shoot anything that
would stand still with his bow and arrow.. Thankfully no animals were hurt.. including the dog or cats!
I am going to work on getting this thing out of his hands and get a golf club in it instead..
I have really been missing Scott. I think after times that we travel together where we spend a lot of time together.. its always hard going back to real life. I wanted him home more than anything today.
I was so happy to sit down to dinner with them. I fixed chicken fried steak.. and Jackson ate it!! =)
Scott really is the glue that totally holds this family together. I do a lot.. but he really does so many things for them.. and I don't think I could do this life without him beside me. I can't tell you how blessed I am for him. He is a handful at times but he is the love of my life and does well with the kids 99% of the time. Hes stronger than I am and it helps to have someone who really does help support me in every way with the kids.
He was so kind tonight to give me a small break and took the kids out for
ice cream.
and I actually enjoyed the quiet time to catch up with a friend as much as they liked dessert!
Dinner was much later than expected. Michael and his family came over for a while tonight. It was a total surprise that he was stopping in. I think he took them to Lake Lure and enjoyed the day off work. His grandfather loooooooved the kittens. He just lost his wife and I really might end up getting him one out of the next litters. I am not sure how serious he was but it would make me feel so good to bring some love and happiness into his life after his loss. He was really cute with the kitten. I thought he might just try to make a run for it. If I would have known they were coming over, I would have made them dinner too.. Thanks for telling me Michael! I would have loved to visit with his mom more! Lots to catch up on! I think they are leaving tomorrow... but will be back in September!
I think one of the major highlights of my day was finding my grandmother Watteau's fruit roll up recipe! I couldn't believe after all those years of looking for it off and on and then for it to pop up today was kinda crazy. I searched high and low for that recipe even when we lived in Ohio. I can't wait to make it with the kids.. and for the kids! I am sure they will be a BIG HIT so I am making a TON of them! I can't believe they are so easy to make.. it does take some time but the ingredients are so simple.. fruit and honey.. some wax paper and then bake.. but it takes a long time to bake. I was little when I made these so my memory is faded some but her notes are great and I can't believe how many of you on my facebook.page responded to that post about the recipe! One of my friends even remembered having them at my house when we were little.. How funny she remembered them! I can't wait to share it with you guys! And its something the kids can help make too. I think I am going to do the first batch.. then let them help with the next few batches. I am going to do strawberry for sure and I also think I am going to do a raspberry peach batch too. This is a very cheap alternative to those little expensive ones at the store. With 3 kids here this summer, we will spend a fortune on them.. so going to do this instead.. I will probably come up with all kinds of variations and just keep making them all summer long! I am sure Zane would like to make some too! I will get the post done by Thursday evening!
I think we have all the plans locked in to go get Zane. Brittany is so excited to be going to Courtneys for that weekend. She is wanting to pack up all the nail polish stuff so they can do their nails together.. I am thinking maybe they can make some bracelets together...and who knows what.. I'm still trying to plan some of that out.. but I am going to take their lunches and dinners.. to make it easier on her.. ( Courtney has a 5 year old son and new baby ) and I am hoping she can put the boys together and let them play! I am sending mostly sugar free items too! I also think I am leaving the kitten here too. It will just be easier. I think this trip will be much harder than the one to Indiana because its further..by 4 hours. We are leaving on a Friday evening...driving as far as we can.. stopping to sleep.. get into Louisiana..go straight to get him.. turn around and start back home on that same Saturday and then dive as far as we can.. get a hotel and drive on it to get the kids from Courtney on Sunday evening. Its going to be a hell of a fast long driving trip. Scott really does need the help with driving. This time we still have to get a housesitter and babysitter all for the 1 trip. Yikes! The kids are going to her and the animals will still need to be looked after. Its take a village to keep our home and lives going when we travel! We could take the kids but what sense does it make to make them go on that long ride? I am just very thankful that she can do it for me. I have offered to give her any night off she wants.. and I hope she takes me up on it.. because I am sure a break would be nice for her too.
Well, I have rambled on long enough.. sorry for the long post!
I need to get some rest!
Sweet Dreams
xoxo
