Wednesday Hodgepodge!

Happy Wednesday Friends! Time for another Wednesday Hodgepodge with Joyce from over at From This Side of the Pond ....this is always such a fun linkup.. join in anytime! Hope you enjoy.

1. Do you have an interest in learning about your family's heritage? Why or why not? If you know a little bit about your roots, share an interesting piece of trivia or a fun fact about someone who goes way back on your family tree.

Well this is a great question for me. My grandfather was so proud of our family tree. He would always say that we could trace our family back 250 years strong. And he was right. My madien name is Watteau which is a old French name. We had a famous painter in our family from the 1700's. The paintings are beautiful and we even have a book from the 1700 with hand painted samples of his work. It lives with my dad at this point but its fun seeing who you are related to. My grandfathers hobbies turned to his passion and he did all the work for us. I just have to keep up with it at this point!

2. Branch Rickey, the baseball exec credited with signing Jackie Robinson, is quoted as saying-
"Luck is the residue of design."
Agree or disagree? Why?

I think true luck is when preparation meets opportunity. I think I head Oprah say that a long time ago and it totally felt right to me.

3. In the town where you currently reside, what's your favorite green space?

I don't think I have found it yet!

4. Who is your favorite comedian?

That was a hard one but here recently.. Tosh has been giving me giggles!

5. March is National Nutrition Month, and almost everyone needs to improve their diet in some way.  What about you? How can you improve your nutrition on a daily basis? Will you try?

I am sure I should drop my sugar intake. I just like it in all forms. Lots of sugar in my coffee.. lots of sweet yummy treats...chocolates...you name it..if its got sugar in it... I probably like it! I am sure it would be a good idea to cut back a little more. And yes, I will try!

Green thumb for sure! I have been busy replanting the kitchen herbs. I moved some outside and soon I will be taking cuttings of others and also putting them outdoors. I love the indoor herb garden but I also love letting them just grow and grow outside naturally. So I am doing both!

7. Where is one place you don't mind waiting?

I had to really think about that one. I couldn't think of a place that I don't mind wasting my time at and then the train station popped into my head. Have you ever took a train? Well Scott and I use to travel A LOT by train and some of those train stations were the prettiest places ever. Trains never run on time. NEVER.. but I can't remember being unhappy waiting around for it!

8.  Insert your own random thought here.

Our beautiful spring weather is going to turn wet and cool tonight. I am so not looking forward to it. I plan on staying home today.. cleaning the house and baking some breakfast cookies. Again.. I am posting this late so I will probably climb out of the bed later than I should. But its been warm here the past few days which has totally spoiled me!

Spriiiing finally

I think winter has done a good job of tormenting all of us this time around and I think its just time for spring to stop teasing us and stay around!

I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

  1. I love love love your little herb garden in the tea tins! I would so love to do that, but we don't have windowsills in this house. Well we do, but they are far too narrow to hold anything.
