Ask the Housewife!

Hello Friends! Normally once a month I do a Ask The Housewife post to answer YOUR questions. Everything is fair game.. I don't hold back anything! Feel free to send in your questions anytime.. just use the contact me page in the top links! So here are the questions!

I WAS JUST WONDERING WHY YOU NEVER DO NEGATIVE REVIEWS ON  ANYTHING? IS IT BECAUSE YOU ARE BEING PAID FOR THE REVIEWS AND JUST DON'T WANT TO SAY ANYTHING BAD?

I have done negative reviews before but I am really not comfortable coming on here and slamming a brand. What doesn't work for me might work for someone else. Most of my reviews have the good and bad included. I share my experience and I don't just say what I think people want to hear. I do some sponsored posts but most of the reviews I do are from products I buy myself. Blogger implemented a new set policies regarding reviews. Now you are suppose to let your readers know if it was a sponsored review or not. I haven't went back and labeled every review with a note yet but I have been adding this cute little note to every review that I do if I bought it myself recently. This blog doesn't focus on just makeup so I don't get a ton of products for review. I do get a lot of samples but that's not the same thing.

WHAT WAS YOUR MAJOR IN COLLEGE?

I started college when I was just turning 20 years old.  my first son was only weeks old. I got my A.S. in Paralegal Studies ( My grandparents were trying to push me into law school ) and then when I graduated.. I decided to stay there to get my B.A. in Business Management. I went to Sullivan College in Louisville Kentucky which was also a Culinary School. The lunch room was amazing.. such good food! I got sucked into it and switched my major in the middle. My family was not happy. So I did that and got a Certificate in Baking and Pastry. It was hard during those years. I was living on my own with my boyfriend and young son. We didn't have much and I was working at night at a call center and then would have only an hour to get from work to college. But I continued and stayed in and got my B.S. in Business Management. I look back and know now that I would have never went to college for those degrees. Instead, I would have went to college for Journalism or Web Design.

IF YOU COULD ONLY USE 1 DRUGSTORE LINE OF MAKEUP WHICH WOULD IT BE AND WHY?

I was going to say Physicans Formula but they don't have any foundations that I really like so I would have to say L'Oreal. I love a lot of their products.. they have some great foundations and shadows...The nail polishes have been getting better too. (:

I WAS TRYING TO SEARCH FOR SOME DIFFERENT POSTS ON HERE AND COULDN'T FIND WAS I WAS LOOKING FOR. HOW DO I FIND OLDER POSTS? SORRY, I AM NEW TO BLOGGING!

I have had this question a few times now and I do plan on doing a post sometime soon to explain in detail. But this should hopefully help...

The links at the top should make your searching a little easier. You can find freebies, kitty cat info, recipes.. but the Search button at the very top takes a minute to load and its every post I have written. Its really more for google to find post to index me in the search engines. It was recommended that I do it so I did! If you go to the very bottom of the blog you will see a column of Categories that you allows you to easily click on a particular link and go to all the those post with just a 1 click. Below that you will see a drop down box that you can search Monthly posts.. and in the right column you will see a box with Search This Blog. You can type whatever you want and the search results will show up at the top of the blog above the header! I hope this helps!

DID YOU HAVE A HIGH SCHOOL SWEETHEART?

Yep. His name is Russell...we had a lot of fun for a while. I got pregnant.. I wanted to get married but he was too busy with his other girl friends to settle down with just me. After about 6 years, I was done. Someone showed up that swept me off my feet and I never looked back. We still talk on Facebook from time to time and he's the very same. I don't think that man will ever grow up but atleast he lets me know how Jordan is doing.

I HAVE SEEN YOUR HOUSE AND ITS REALLY NICE, WHY ARE YOU MOVING AND WILL YOU DO A HOME TOUR FOR US?

Well, I am just not crazy about the city here. I have never been a fan of it and the house is starting to have problems. I just want out of here. I think its a little too big too but Scott keeps looking at big houses. I think we would be more happy out in the country somewhere but who knows. We are still house hunting. But I do want to move as soon as possible. And sure I will probably do some kind of home tour video!

HOW DO YOU COPE WITH ALL THE HAIR FROM THE CATS?

Its not just the cats. We have Super Cooper too who is a long haired Golden Retriever. Honestly, its next to impossible to keep it all up. I try to vacuum almost daily and we have to sweep the stairs a lot too. The cats do shed a lot but we try to keep them brushed out a lot and we even shave them down at different times during the year. Its not easy because we do have a lot of animals running around the house. I am hoping to find a better solution for the cats in the coming future that would help keep the hair down. 

IF YOU ARE THE ONE WHO DOES ALL THE WORK AROUND THE HOUSE, WHY DOES YOUR HUSBAND HAVE TO IRON HIS OWN CLOTHES?

Wow..Well, he irons his own clothes because he's so damn picky. I would spend hours on end ironing his clothes and he would re iron them in the morning. When I saw that, I decided that I was done. It took up a lot of my time and he wasn't happy with it anyway. He's ironed his own clothes for years or he sends them into the dry cleaners.

I OWN A RED NOSE PITBULL AND WAS LOOKING AT GETTING ONE OF YOUR CATS UNTIL I READ THAT YOU WILL NEVER LET SOMEONE WITH MY DOG BUY ONE OF YOUR CATS. WHY?

That's true. I won't send any cat from my home into a house with pitbulls. No. I have seen some serious damage caused by these dogs and I don't want to risk it. I am sure you have a very nice dog but its my choice where they go and I don't feel comfortable with it. Sorry.

I HAVE READ ALL YOUR BLOG POST ABOUT JOURNALING AND EVEN WATCHED YOUR VIDEO. I LOVE YOU!! WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WAY TO JOURNAL NOW?

I have been using just a blank journal that I have actually added in monthly calendars  I then use the rest of the pages to journal everything from my to do list...along with pictures ( almost in a scrapbook kind of way ). I also journal nightly in it too. I kinda like it this way but next time I think I will look for a book with thicker paper. This journal should last until late August. 

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE BRAND OF SHOES?

I am a Nike Girl through and through. I have pins and plates in my right ankle and shoes like these do help. I also love sandles and I loooove some Tori Burch flats! 

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT DOING MORE BLOGGING TIPS FOR ALL OF US BEGINNER BLOGGERS?

Actually, I have been giving this a lot of thought and yes.. I think I might start doing a weekly series for beginner bloggers but summer is coming up and I am going to be busy with the kids. I don't want to overload myself but I am going to start sometime soon! 

I KNOW YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT YOUR NEIGHBORS DOGS. HAVE YOU EVER TRIED JUST TALKING TO THEM? 

Yes.. and they didn't act like it was a big deal. They were both pretty rude but they are nice to my husband which is fine but I don't like them. I think they are rude and inconsiderate which is exactly why I am considering a country house now.
