Monday Movie Review : What To Expect When You're Expecting

A few weeks ago.. I decided to sit back and watch this movie. To be honest, I think Jennifer Lopez is as cute as she can be.. So I decided to watch this against my better judgement.. 

Here's what the movie is about.. 

Over the moon about starting a family, TV fitness guru Jules and dance show star Evan find that their high-octane celebrity lives don't stand a chance against the surprise demands of pregnancy. Baby-crazy author and advocate Wendy gets a taste of her own militant mommy advice when pregnancy hormones ravage her body; while Wendy's husband, Gary, struggles not to be outdone by his competitive alpha-Dad, who's expecting twins with his much younger trophy wife, Skyler. Photographer Holly is prepared to travel the globe to adopt a child, but her husband Alex isn't so sure, and tries to quiet his panic by attending a "dudes" support group, where new fathers get to tell it like it really is. Well to put it blunty.. I didn't like this movie at all.. It just wasn't my thing. The cast is big with Cameron Diaz, Chris Rock, Jennifer Lopez, Elizabeth Banks, Dennis Quaid among others. The movie runs too long at nearly two hours, and really there is so much filler, that you almost lose interest. At least for me, I found it just too dull and corny to my liking. 

I think if you could watch this like you reading the book how-to bestseller by Heidi Murkoff...by skipping the unnecessary bits and diving into the important stuff... then it would be a little more tolerable. I did zip through this movie in the parts that I just couldn't deal with. I think that this movie is like... Valentines Day or News Year Eve.. where they have a huge cast.. basically to cover how bad the script actually is.. These kind of movies are not working for me. I wish they would put more time in the writing than how many celebrities they can get to make an appearance. 

I also didn't like the dads " gang " that met up in the park. I know tons of young dads and none of them do that..hummmmm.. anyway.. here's the trailer..

because I could barely get to the end without turning it off. Its just not good. I don't care how you dress it up with big screen actors.. if the writing sucks.. its over. I would seriously go back and read this 

book cover to cover before having to watch that movie again.

Its 11:55 so I know this is a LATE Monday Movie Review.. sorry!! I have been feeling pretty under the weather today but I am happy to tell you guys.. you might want to get this at the redbox.. There is no sense in paying more than a $1 to see this.
