Its 130am and I am still wide awake. I came to bed about 10pm but I have been just resting and enjoying the night. Actually I have been enjoying myself since the evening. Scott came home tonight and took out Jackson to the movies to see...
Scott did say that for one very small part in the movie that he had to cover Jackson's eyes up. The movie is PG13 so I feel its ok for him but there was a topless shot that I about died when Scott told me. Yep.. he needed his eyes covered for that. But besides that one part, Jackson really liked the movie and Scott not so much.
During my peaceful evening.. I relaxed the night away. I even went out for a walk around the yard and to throw the ball for the dog..
And guess what I found!?
The first fallen leaves on the ground!!
One thing thats for sure around here..
Fall is in the air!
For dinner tonight I had planned my brown sugar meatloaf..
I will get the recipe up soon. Truth is.. as many years as I have been making this.. I don't measure anything anymore so I have to figure it all out first. And tonight I just wanted to get it done. I didn't realize the boys were going to the movies so dinner was suppose to wait for them till after the movie.
So I had dinner alone.. and to be honest, it was nice not having to get up and fetch things for anyone.. and it was nice to sit down to just the tv and enjoy some food..
And I totally enjoyed dinner..
I mean does this meatloaf not look amazing!?
I think meatloaf gets a bad wrap.. I used grass fed organic lean ground beef. I paid extra for it ... with NO coupons but I think its best. If you can afford it..I really feel you should do it. It simply means a much healthier option. But.. I totally understand if you are on a budget and can't do it too.
Speaking of recipes and cooking... Look at what my mom made today!!
Let me give you our conversation about these that we had when she was here a couple weeks ago..
Mom – What are
those?
Me – Rice crispy
treats with sprinkles
Mom – Oh I dont eat
those.
Me – Oh yea?? Your
missing out!
Mom – I dont think
so ( with her cute
little high piched tone )
A few minutes later
she had one in her hand snacking awad and was asking a lot of questions about what they were.. what were
in them.. and how she DOES like them!! Ha!! Too funny! =0) I can't believe my own mother never had one before this last trip!
Now check out the
message she put on facebook about them!! – Again.. funny!
I never really thought Laci was deprived of anything when she was growing up, but I think I was wrong. I never thought I liked these rice krispies treats. So I NEVER EVER made these for Laci. I'm sorry, honey. Thank you Kisha for making these while I was there. I loved them so I decides to make them. Don says he loves them. Wow, can't believe I never made this wonderful and easy snack. DUH!!! LOL

how menu planning often switches around here?? Well tonight, both the boys filled up with popcorn and candy from the movie and wasn't hungry for dinner when they came home. So I have a bunch of food from tonight that I am going to have to serve again in the next days. It only has 1 serving out of it so that is definitely going back on the table. So now I have an extra meal for the week in my freezer. For me that is how we build up the freezer. I will add it in the menu at some point but I let the extra meals pile up in the freezer to use at a different time. Its a great way of building up your food supply. Just act like you fixed it and before long, I am betting you have 5 meals ready in the frig and pantry.
I still have a lot to do on that wall too. Its just getting started. I plan on adding a rubbermaid drawer for mittens, hats, and items that will get lost easily that we might need in the mornings. It will also have Jacksons chores and schedule along with anything school related hanging up. I am using a small wall because I only have 1 child here but if there were Brittany and or Zane I would have to use a much bigger wall. I think organization is the key to everything running smoothly with kids. It doesn't have to be fancy. I am using mostly things I already have around the house. You could really do it super nice if you wanted. I just don't want to spend a lot of money doing it. I am also getting some command hooks too to hang his stuff up. If I find during the school year that this area needs to be larger or changed.. I will deal with it then.
I wanted to get more done today than what I did but I did manage to reorganize all of Jacksons clothes. I don't think he should be allowed to have his clothes in his room because he would change clothes 10x a day if he could. But for the moment everything is really nice and organized!
Tomorrow I really want to get the downstairs bathroom sparkling.. Also I found a bathroom cleaning routine that I am loving and its super easy. I plan on getting a post up of it soon. I know we all clean our bathrooms just fine, but be sure to check the posts out anyway because there are some good tips in it!
Time for bed!
Sweet dreams from Romeo..
