Tuesday Tips and Tricks - SPRING CLEANING AREA 2

Tuesday, April 3, 2012

Hello everyone! First off, in case you are new to this blog...on Tuesdays we do a Household Tips and Tricks Series..and being spring is here we are focusing on a spring cleaning challenge. For 2 weeks we have been working in area 1.. which is the front porch, the entrance way and the dining room. I know everyone doesn't have a dining room but we all have an entrance and most of us have front porches.. even on apartments! If you want to check out the detailed cleaning list for area 1 you can click here. Remember its better to spend 15-20 minutes in the area decluttering before starting the detailed cleaning. Its not easy to clean in a cluttered up area.

I told you I would do before and after pictures.. but I only got after. so here is my work from the last couple of weeks. I did forget to get a picture of the dinning room.. its been busy around here! =)

I got busy on the entrance way and dinning room. It wasn't too bad in there except it was a little dusty in the corners of the room. It only took me about 3 hours to get all the cleaning done in the dining room and entrance way.

and then I worked on the front porch and even got 2 new big ferns to hang to give it a pop of color.. I found them on sale at Kmart for $ 8 each which is a great deal for big ferns!!

I got lots of emails from you..LOVE that you are following along! The first spring clean challenge was one of the most viewed post to date! How awesome is that? Even for families that are having a hard time, you can find cleaning products SUPER cheap at your local Everything's a Dollar Store or there are tons of recipes to make your own cleaning products. I think most everyone loves a clean house!

So here we are going into Zone 2.. the kitchen. I don't know about your home but in ours its important every month or so do give it a good scrub down. I cook a lot and it seems there is always something that needs cleaned.

Remember.. declutter first.. get things out of your way to be able to clean.

I think we can all get this area done in 1 week.. but if I start getting emails that you need longer, I will extend it another week as I did with area 1.

Happy Cleaning.. keep me posted on how you are doing! Remember to keep up on the rest of your home along with your laundry too. The spring cleaning is extra.
