Movie Review ~ War Horse ~

Wednesday, April 4, 2012

This movie hit the redbox yesterday and I was so excited to get it!! I had heard tons of great reviews on this movie and I knew I had to watch it. However, husby kept fighting me on watching it.. saying it was going to be a girly movie, but I got him to sit down in his - sick flu - state to watch it last night.

Steven Spielberg film that takes place rural England and Europe during War War 1. The back drop on the movie was amazing.. the family home of Albert is where I want to move to! Anyway, this story is of a horse who no one but the son Albert believed in at first. Then things happen and they are separated.. only to be reunited many years later.

The horse, Joey takes a long journey and every one he comes in contact with...he touches, inspires, and even challenges at times. From what I saw this movie was War War 1 from a horses point of view. One of my favorite scenes of the movie was when Joey ( the horse ) got trapped in wire and a solider from each side came to free him. Loved it.

What I didn't like about this movie was watching the young men die. I guess its a enviable part of war but it bothered me a lot. 2 young boys ran away from the war and was shot dead for doing that. I don't agree.. but it was the reality.

This movie was totally touching.. at times tears were streaming down my face and my husband even looked emotional at times. No tears for him but he had great empathy for the horse.

Here's the trailer..

Another..

10 out of 10!!!
If you haven't seen this, go get it.. you won't be disappointed!! Love that Redbox has a movie now!

Loved It!!
