!!!!!MARDI GRAS!!!!!

After our day at the zoo, we took Zane back to his mothers house because we planned a night in the big city!

That is the super dome all lit up in Mardi Gras colors with a big Mercedes symbol in the middle. We were so lucky to park about 5 blocks away and find free parking in a safe spot. 

We were trying to get Harrah's Casino where mom and Don were but we had to go through tons of people and a couple big parades.

We got through this crowd. The hardest part was we had to cross the street. We had to walk forever down many streets to be able to get across.. giving me time for lots of pictures and videos! 

After we crossed the street.. things were a bit calmer but we walked up on this car.. 

that was covered with bird shit. I could believe it.. It was an amazing parking place that was free but that night.. it was far from free for the owner. It smelled horrible. There were 4 or 5 other people looking at it and taking pictures too. Not to mention, it smelled horrible. 

and the birds were just a ♫ chirping.. chirping..chirping.. ♫ up in that tree above the car! =)

We finally made it to the casino and found mom on her favorite machine.. 

Sex and the City

The seat next to her opened up and Scott and I had a little fun playing too! 

But we don't ever do as good as she does! 

I had given her $ 20.00 to play for me and this is what she won.. 

Ha! Is that not freaking awesome!!?? Scott and I thought she had probably fed the machine 20's just to give us some extra spending money but nope.. she took picture by picture of actually winning the money! I love her doing that for me! She has been lucky for years when we do it this way! 

She is always so happy at the slots! 

Look at all the garbage in the streets when the parade was over..

all those bags were from where the people on the floats.. they would tear the bags of beads open and just toss the bags down. 

Mom was on the hunt for beads. There were tons in the street. All kinds of people were picking them up! I love this picture of her!

at one point.. we were just in the middle of the crowd stuck.. none of us could move for a few minutes. It was just craziness. I was scared to death that I was going to loose Scott down there. he went into a bar to go to the restroom and didn't come out for over 15 minutes. he stood in line forever then finally held out some money and he jumped to the first of the line.. but I was waiting outside the bar and I was pretty nervous. 

After a long night out.. we were walking back to the car and I saw this amazing dress. 

Omg.. I want it.. the wings too! 

Is that not beautiful? 

We drank a little but not much. I was scared to be in that element all drunk and stumbling around. I know for sure if I had done that, I would have lost Scott in the crowds. And we had to drive back to the hotel so husby could get tore up either.. But we still had a really good time! We got a ton of beads and I plan on doing another big post about Mardi Gras later.
