Wednesday Hodgepodge!

Happy Wednesday Friends! Time for another Wednesday Hodgepodge with Joyce from over at From This Side of the Pond ....this is always such a fun linkup.. join in anytime! Hope you enjoy.

1. We celebrate Veteran's Day in the US of A on November 11th. When did you last interact with a member of the armed forces (either currently serving or retired)? Have you ever written a letter to a soldier, bought a meal or coffee for a solider, said an unprompted thank you to a soldier you encountered out and about somewhere? If you're not in the US, comment on a similar holiday in your own country.

Well my husband was in the Military and I talked to him just a while ago! I don't think I have written any letters but I have sent care boxes before with a card for Scotts nephew Derek. I did a blog post yesterday about my favorite 2 Veterans that you can read right here if you are interested. I have thanked many many soldiers for their devotion to our country. I think what they do is amazing and I am very grateful.

2. You can have fifty pounds of anything at all (except money)...what would you choose?

Ha! Omg...wow. Hummmmmm....I guess I would have to say gold! That's not technically money is it!? Hope not....but that way, I could sell it and put the kids through college...plus maybe get a few new jewelry pieces!

3. When did you last receive an invitation in the 'real' mail? What was it for and did you attend? When it comes to RSVP-ing, are you an 'early responder' or a 'last minute, barely-under-the-wire' kind of guest?

The last invitation for me was to our niece's baby shower. I couldn't attend but I did send a gift in my place. In terms of RSVP....I normally respond right away if I know I can attend or not...either which way, I like them to have as much notice as possible.

4. What's something you really don't like to waste?

FOOD!  I went to culinary school and they taught us to waste NOTHING in the kitchen. And it has stuck with me every since.

5. Cheers, Friends, MASH, Seinfeld...of the ones listed, your favorite long-running sitcom?

And I also really liked Mad About You!

6. What decision are you glad you made?

Idk really... I second guess my decisions all the time. But I guess on the smaller side, going on and starting to work on Christmas. I normally wait until after Thanksgiving but I want to get a jump on things.

7. In this month of 'Thanksgiving' what is one thing that's different today than it was a year ago that you're grateful for?

My kids are a year older which I am totally grateful. I am also grateful that my oldest son seems to be reaching out more which I am also grateful for. Really I am grateful for my entire family. Because none of us are the same...we keep changing and growing and they are what I am thankful and grateful for most. I am also thankful for a year of new youtube and blog friends that I have made over the past year. You guys are simply amazing.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.

I missed you guys last week! I hope you all are doing well. Things have already been busy around here the first part of the week. I am totally hoping life slows down for the rest of the week. Actually today is cleaning day and I am not looking forward to cleaning all 2800 square feet of the house. Yea.. not excited but a job that needs done. I just got my nails done yesterday so I forsure needs to wear gloves as much as possible. Maybe I should have done my nails the day after but it's just not the way it worked out. Life around here has been pretty calm and peaceful the past few weeks so I can't really complain. Sometimes I feel like its a little " too comfortable, normal, complacent " but it never stays that way for long. It seems life has a way of picking up all on its own and I don't think we have much control over it. I also think being in our 40's * Well... I'm almost 39 and my husband is 46 has slowed us down and that's ok. Normal boring days are ok... It means we are ok.. so I am adapting! And as I tell the kids all the time, being bored means you are staying out of trouble so I am good with bored! :)

I hope you have a beautiful and blessed Wednesday.  Thanks for stopping by....leave me a link if you join up so I can come check out your answers!
