Monday Movie Review: Prisoners

Hello friends! I hope you are having a wonderful night. I am back tonight with a very overdue Movie Review. I have been so busy these past few months that I have not done a movie review in some time. I am totally changing things and starting movie reviews back up. So tonight I am going to talk to you about the movie

 Here's a little about the movie:

PRISONERS, from Oscar (R)-nominated director Denis Villeneuve, stars Oscar (R) nominees Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal in a story that poses the question: How far would you go to protect your child? Keller Dover (Jackman) is facing every parent's worst nightmare. His six-year-old daughter, Anna, is missing, together with her young friend, Joy, and as minutes turn to hours, panic sets in. The only lead is a dilapidated RV that had earlier been parked on their street. Heading the investigation, Detective Loki (Gyllenhaal) arrests its driver, Alex Jones (Paul Dano), but a lack of evidence forces the only suspect's release. Knowing his child's life is at stake, the frantic Dover decides he has no choice but to take matters into his own hands. But just how far will this desperate father go to protect his family? (c) WB

I knew before hitting purchase that this would be a difficult movie to watch. I have young children and I can not imagine the pain that would come from a missing child. However, I thought that watching this movie, I could maybe learn something that could help protect my family. I know that's a stretch for a movie.. but I was hoping. I think this movie will touch any parent who has turned around to not see them. It can happen to us in a second and this movie really made that point. 

I think the performance from Hugh Jackman is the most emotional part he has ever done. I could literally feel his pain through out this movie. This movie totally kept me on the edge of my seat.. and Scott too.We both were sucked into the movie in the first 10 minutes. The intensity from Hugh Jackman alone is Oscar worthy. This movie has tons of twists and turns and does not disappoint. 

I also think Jake Gyllenhaal is sensational, he gives a memorable and gripping performance that is one of his best yet. I was shocked at how much I liked him in this movie. 

Maria Bello and Viola Davis are excellent. They don't huge parts but they are just as gripping mourning for their kidnapped daughters. Terrance Howard is terrific. I totally loved his performance too. Amazing Actors. 

I am giving this movie 

and not 5 because I didn't like the ending which still haunts me days after watching the movie.
