Hello Friends! I am linking up with Jenni from Story of my Life for { Blogtember }Its a daily blog challenge starting Tuesday Sept 3 with weekends off! The full list of topics is below but today we area talking about:

A story about a time you were very afraid.

I know this is going to make me sound crazier than I already am but..About 4 -5 years ago, Scott and I moved to Coshocton Ohio. His big boss was transferring from one dealership to another and Scott wanted to continue working for him. So we visited the town one weekend in hopes of securing some place to live. We found this very old house in a historical neighborhood that we agreed to settle on. We didn't have much time to actually find a house and get moved. The clock was ticking and we had to make a decision. We looked around the neighborhood  ( Roscoe Village ) and it was pretty interesting...and agreed to taking the old house. We went back and got packed up and moved into our new-old house. Life seemed normal at first. It was a really old house with its share of problems. But we just made the most of it. It was basically the best house we could find in a weekend.

Odd things started happening.. Scott and I would be laying in the bed and our closet doors would open and shut right in front of us. It shocked the hell out of us. And it was even more spooky because the closet had like 4 big wood doors on it and then there were more cabinets with doors at the top and they would creak close....you could actually see and here them opening and shutting on their own. Then the worst night of came when I was on the first floor and walked past a mirror and saw a man. He looked like he was from the 1800's...not like in the picture to the left. I could only see his round scruffy face. It also appeared that he was wearing a hat too. The mirror was right by the stairs. I carefully walked right back to the couch in the living room avoiding looking at the mirror on the wall. My heart was racing. I wanted to scream out but I really couldn't. I froze up completely. I managed to put all the lights on in the living room and basically sat still for hours waiting on Scott to get up and come downstairs. I couldn't move. I sat there for hours just being scared. I know everyone thinks it would be cool to actually see a ghost but it wasn't fun. I was terrified. It was real and I knew it wasn't our house.. it was his. It seemed like the entrance to the stairs ( which also had a door on it that would just open and close on its own. ) and the upstairs was their area.  As a result of of that dramatic moment, I researched the house and found out it was used as a Dr.'s office in 1850's and used during a Cholera Epidemic in Ohio. Its well documented. So as my husband said.. its explains why our house was haunted. From that moment on, I was uneasy in the house at night. I was ok during the day but at night..I slept downstairs with 95% of the lights on. It totally changed our lives. We couldn't believe what we were watching, hearing, and feeling. I tried blessing the house at a point.. but nothing helped. I took the mirror down too and made sure the entire house was lit up when the sun went down. I felt ok during the day but if it was dark, they seemed to come alive at appear at times. It didn't take very long before we were looking for another house. We lived with it as long as we could but it simply became unbearable.
