This weekend we pretty much had a new version of Thanksgiving dinner.. and it was delicious!
It was pretty simple and I found a new love while trying these recipes out! The videos are first and then I have some pictures and " notes " below!
The brine was super easy to make. I was a little nervous about cooking 2 turkey breast in the brine so I am cooking one in the apple cider and 1 with just some salt, pepper, garlic powder and fresh sage.
Once the turkey was in the oven, I started in on the squash.
cut it in half..
and scrape out the seeds and slice it up. It was hard to slice up so I had Scott do it for me.
You only need salt, pepper, olive oil and nutmeg..
and then roast it in the same oven you are cooking the turkeys in. I took the roasted squash out of the oven after about 15 minutes and let the Turkeys cook a little longer.
In the mean time I made the browned butter
Just add 2 sticks to a skillet..
Then I fried in fresh sage leaves..
until they were nice and crispy!
OMG.. these are Ammmmazing. I swear.. just try them. They will be so yummy with potatoes!
The turkeys came out looking great!
I also quickly sauteed some
up.. with just some..
olive oil, salt and pepper, garlic powder, and nutmeg!
I served the squash and spinach up together!
I sliced up the turkey and put it in the apple cider juices..
I took the other turkey topped it with some gravy
This was for husby!
These were really good too!
This dinner was really good!
The boys ate it up.. and I am so happy I tried the fried sage leaves. They are so good.. give it a try!
