Monday Movie Review - Peace, Love , and Misunderstanding

Monday, September 10, 2012

I watched this movie a while back so forgive me that this review is just getting up! I am a big Jane Fonda fan. I love her work but this movie fell short for me. Here's some official details about the movie..

Directed by two‐time Academy Award nominee Bruce Beresford, Peace, Love, & Misunderstanding stars Academy Award winning Jane Fonda, two‐time Academy Award nominated Catherine Keener, international heartthrob Chace Crawford, and Sundance's "breakout star" Elizabeth Olsen. A comedy about an uptight New York City lawyer who takes her two spirited teenagers to her hippie mother's farmhouse in the countryside for a family vacation. What was meant to be a weekend getaway quickly turns into a summer adventure of romance, music, family secrets, and self‐discovery. -- (C) IFC

Lets move on to the trailer..

I think this movie is a light hearted comedy - drama mix. It was kinda nice to see Jane Fonda being a hippie to her Conservative daughter and grandchildren. But the movie did not really keep my attention. I found it too goofy to really get into. I didn't really grow up in the " hippie " era but I did go through my own personal hippie phase at one time. But in no way, have I carried it over into my adult life.

I am also not a big fan of Catherine Keener either.. But I thought Elizabeth Olsen was sweet!

So I am giving this movie only

because it just fell flat for me. I think at this point in Jane Fonda's career, she should be making much better movies than this.

=(

If you are interested in seeing this, I suggest the Red Box because its not worth paying anymore than $1 .

Have you seen this movie? Do you agree with me??
