So husby and I went to see this Friday night. Let me first say that my husband found this movie borning and not as good as the Matt Damon movies. But I actually like this movie. Do you know how much I love Edward Norton??? So much so that he was the main reason I wanted to go see this movie.
And I like Jeremy Renner too. I loved him in THE TOWN and I thought he would be an excellent replacement to Matt Damon.
I was born to love spy kinds of movies.. I love the Bourne Trilogy.. so I was going to like this movie no matter what.
The story line is where the movie fell short for me.. the actors that are in this movie are some of the best actors working today and it was because of those actors is what saved this film. Scott thinks the way they pieced this Bourne movie with the past ones was awful. I found parts of the movie boring but the action scenes made up for it.. but their wasn't as much ass kicking in this one as the others..
Edward Norton was AMAZING.. This guy is seriously my little pocket boyfriend. However it was hard to make out what side he was on. Its hard to imagine that a government figure would ever burn a very big intelligence program but because another program that is close in matter its about to be exposed. Would they do that? I think we have a goverment that has no problems in making super spies or super soliders but I don't think they would just burn a program and people just because some shady details were about to be leaked. Nope.. I don't.
When I got up from watching this movie, I had the sense that this movie script was rushed. Why rush it?? I think they were just dying to get another Bourne movie out there asap but the writing clearly needed some extra time.
Here's the trailer..
I am giving this movie
4 out of 5 stars because I loved the actors so much.. not that I loved the plot. But I am sure I will see this again as soon as it comes out on DVD because again.. spy movies are my thing! =)
From what I have read this movie has brought in 40 -45 million which makes it a solid success but not a big hit. Of course they did leave it open for another movie.. and lets hope they take more time to write out a better story line.
If you saw this movie.. I would love to hear your thoughts! Leave a comment below!

Renner is no Matt Damon, but he brings a certain type of edge to Aaron Cross that makes him different from Jason Bourne. Not saying that it’s a good thing or bad thing, just a very good idea that Gilroy uses here and it helps the film out in the long-run. Good review Kisha.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I liked the movie but thought the other 3 were better! But I still want to see the next one.. hopefully you are right and in the long run this particular Bourne movie will make more sense!
