Afternoon!

Happy Friday!

 Can you believe the weekend is pretty much already here!? I thought this week would be the longest ever waiting for Jackson to go back to school, BUT it has went by fast for me! I am guessing Saturday and Sunday are going to go by fast too. School is starting! 

I am sitting here watching the news while I type.. What the hell happened at the Empire State Building this morning? OMG... I don't know what is wrong with people...I seriously want to move to a little cabin out in the middle of no where.. 11 shot, 2 dead and 9 wounded. I don't think this is going to stop. These are Americans shooting other Americans.. and it just keeps getting worse. I think finding a small town in the middle of no where would be better. Its terrible. Isn't it like every day that we are hearing that something like this happened?? I have never been a fan of gun control but maybe its coming to that. Something needs to change. These idiots just think that our country is the wild wild west. I don't care what your upset about.. shooting innocent people will not fix anything.. it just destroys more lives. Scott and I have been to the Empire State Building a few times..and I can't imagine how scared those people were this morning. It makes me really sad. =( 

Have I told you yet that at Jackson's Elementary School there is a police officer stationed there every minute of the school day to watch and protect the children? I thought it was kinda silly at first but I totally understand and agree with it. We are in a small town.. and Jackson's school is one of the best in the county but with the way things are happening anymore.. its better off being safe. I don't know about the other schools but I assume they have security too. 

Speaking of sad days.. 

My 2nd cousin is being shown today and buried tomorrow. My mom is there and getting my grandma cleaned up to head out to the funeral home @ 4.  No one expected her to leave us. She did have cancer but was in remission and feeling better. She laid down to take a nap and never woke up. Its really sad. I know she will be very much missed. 

Seems like a sad day around here but we are going to do our best to put a smile on our faces and face today with an open heart and an open mind. Jackson is running around here practicing his yo yo tricks. 

Scott got him a yo yo a few weeks ago and hes hooked! Scott loves it but it makes me nervous that Jackson will break picture frames or the tv trying to do tricks. I shocked that he likes playing with it as much as he does but hes actually getting pretty good! 

We don't have any really big plans today. We are homebodies so we stay in a lot. I do need to do some shopping but that might have to wait till tonight or tomorrow morning. I think today we are going to take it easy and clean up the house a little. Its
