Yesterday I posted the first Fruit Roll Up that you can find here. Now that one is a now cook method and pretty tasty but today I am going to show you the cooking method.. and a new flavor combo!
Here are the step by step instructions for
PEACH RASPBERRY HOMEMADE FRUIT ROLL UPS!
=)
First off here is what you will need..
All pretty simple things that most of us have around the house!

You will need fruit of course.. This time I am using Peach and Raspberry's.
4 cups of fruit gives you 1 sheet of homemade fruit rollups
You will also need..
A pot and a potato masher if you don't have a blender or food processor..
Some sugar, water, and either lemon or lime juice
I am using a food processor to make it easier..
And this time I took some clear plastic wrap and
covered the rimmed cookie sheet. ( Be sure its the microwave safe kind! =) )
I got busy cutting up the fruit.. ( Rinse it first! )
And then measured it into the pot to be sure I had enough..
1 cup
2 cups
3 cups
and 4 cups.
Then you will want to add 1/2 cup of water to every 4 cups of fruit..
Then on the stove it goes at med heat for about 10-15 minutes until
the fruit cooks down
Then grab a spoon and taste it.. If the berries are ripe. .you might not need to add sugar.. but if not.. add some sugar to taste..
I have a huge sweet tooth so it took
4 tablespoons of sugar to get it to taste the way I like ( Splenda would work just fine too! )
Then give a squeeze of fresh
lemon or lime to give the fruit a boost of flavor!
And once the fruit has softened..
You can use a potato masher to mash the fruit up till its smooth..
But its much easier to just add it to a blender or food processor.. which is what I did..
Remember hot liquids expand in a blender or food processor.. so make sure its not filled to the rim..
Then..
give it whiz..
And blend till its smooth.
Then put it on the plastic wrap lined cookie sheet..
Make sure non of the plastic is folded over on the fruit.. And also do your best to spread it out.. beating it on the table kinda helps too!
Then into the oven it goes..
- Bake as long as it takes for the fruit to dry out (between 8 and 12 hours) and not be sticky to the touch.. I can't tell you how long it will take being oven cooking times vary in each home. But just keep checking it!
In the mean time, your house will smell amazing!
It was late last night when it was done.. So I just
rolled it up and set it aside!
This morning.. I unrolled it.. and took some kitchen shears to
cut through the plastic and fruit..
Rolled them up..
and now we have a bunch of fruit roll ups around for the kids.. and a husby too!
This flavor combo is so freaking good.. Ohh.. you can also put the fruit through a mesh sleeve or a cheese cloth to get out the seeds.. but I don't find that really necessary!
I will be posting more of these soon.. with different flavors!
To see my other post where no cooking is involved... click here! Also my grandmothers recipe states that you can spread it out over a plate and set it in the sun.. so might have to try that too!
