Husby and I sat down for this movie last night and I have so many thoughts on it that I want to share. First off this movie is made with REAL ACTIVE DUTY NAVY SEALS.. not actors..
So.. on to my thoughts..
This movie tells the fictional story of how Navy Seals really work together. It leaves out most of their personal lives and just focus on combat scenes. The directors and cinematographer Shane Hurlbut spent 50 days over two years shooting elaborate SEAL training exercises... which used live ammunition...Through the entire movie. While I was sitting on the couch watching this, I had a 100 questions that I was asking husby.. I will tell you this.. These men are sure impressive with the way they work in combat situations. This movie is all about the action scenes. All their technology is amazing. I mean who seriously wouldn't want that stuff!!?
I think one of the biggest parts of this movie I personally love is the LOYALTY they show to each other. I would say they are married to their teammates more than they are married to their own wives. I guess they have to be. But it is not only a war - action movie its also a movie about friends who would die for each other. I would have liked to seen a woman Navy Seal but I guess GI Jane was busy! =)
While this movie takes over with its very realistic action these men are not actors.. and it shows. I think they fight much better than act! I did complain through the movie that maybe this would have been with actors as Seals. But after watching it 2x now I think it was better to have the actual Navy Seals.. because this movie is all about the combat and not the acting.
I think this movie was amazing. I really do. I wanted to see it.. husby saw some bits and pieces at work online but when we sat down together and watched it, we both really enjoyed it. I am debating on letting the boys watch it.. Yes, there is some cursing it but in my house the ALL the boys play Call of Duty online and to me it seemed very similar.. even the cursing.. however mine is not allowed to curse. But I think they would enjoy it. I really do but who knows if I will let them or not!

Even though I thought the acting was sub par. But the movie is not about the actors.. its about Active Duty Loyal Navy Seals in Combat.. and the scenes alone during those fire fights is beyond amazing!
Don't miss this movie.. The end is also very touching an loyal.
