So last week we had some simple amazing french toast!

Jaggers Family Berry French Toast!!

Very Simple Ingredients

Egg Yolks 4 works for our family of 5.. but the kids are small.. so you might want to double everything..

Loaf of bread.. Stale works best to absorb the custard mix

2 cups of heavy cream or whole milk.. The cream is better though!

Some Vanilla

And a couple tablespoons of sugar

Butter for the griddle

I also served some maple sausage links

so they went on first!

Then I took the loaf of French Bread

 and

sliced it up.. Thicker pieces make better french toast!

Egg yolks only makes for the BEST

French toast!! If you use a whole ones, the French toast will burn easier.

Add your cream or milk..

mix it up..

add your sugar and

vanilla.. ( just a few dashes )

And then

dip in your bread and

sit aside until each piece is ready.

And then place on a nonstick griddle or skillet..

on Medium heat till each side is golden brown..

As it finished cooking, I put it on a warm platter

Then topped it with blueberries, butter, and sprinkled it with powered sugar..

YUMMMM!!!

Once all the french toast and sausage was done..

Dinner was served

( husby was working that late that night.. so he ate when he got home )

The kids and Scott ate every last piece of this!!

Delicious!!

You can switch up the fruit to anything you like.. and you can add any other seasonings such as cinnamon or nutmeg to the custard.. This is a very simple recipe that is just as good for dinner as it would be for breakfast!
