Happy Sunday Friends. Its so pretty here.. I am blogging from outside right now.. Laundry is hanging all around me and I can smell the downy coming off the clothes. Bliss! Its the simple things I enjoy the most!
Speaking of simple.. Last night I did my version of the The Pioneer Woman's Marlboro Man Sandwich for dinner. I make steak sandwiches all the time around here.. but I normally prefer a thin ribeye but this recipe calls for chopped steak.. so thats what I did.. I should say now that my husband and Michael LOVED this dinner. I mean.. really loved it.. so its for sure a husband approved dinner!

Basically I used besides a few spices for dinner.
I got the onion sliced up and cooking first off in about 2 tablespoons of butter
for about 20 minutes on med heat.
I then scrubbed some potatoes, heated the fryer up, and
sliced the russet potatoes up to fry.
I then took
the chopped steak and
and cut it up some more!
For the fries, I am topping them in bacon and cheese and setting out ranch dip for everyone.
So I also chopped up some
bacon..
I dropped the fries in the fryer. I know my big pot looks like it has went to hell and back but I only use it for deep frying.. its works soooo freaking good.. and it has a lid! It was my mother in laws and every time I get it out.. I think of her.
I removed the onions to a separate plate and then put the steak in the same skillet.. and cooked it until it was done..
Then I added about 3 tablespoons of Worcestershire Sauce over it.. Mixed in some steak seasoning, garlic powder, and put the onions right back into the skillet.
While that was finishing cooking, I fried up the bacon..
After the steak and onions were mixed together and spices added .. I added
about 2 tablespoons of butter to the meat to make it a little more rich.
The rest of the butter was then melted on the
indoor griddle for the bread. Buttery crusty bread.. YUM!!
I put the bread on the griddle ( sorry no picture! ) and while it was browning up I got
the ranch in 3 cute tea cups for each of us
Then I added some
mayo to the crusty bread
Got the fries out of the fyer
Topped them with bacon and
cheese, and dinner was served!!
It was a very informal dinner ate right in front of the tv and the guys were right.. it was amazing!
Ha! The chopped steak was a hit! I added cheese to the sandwiches too.. husby doesn't know how to eat a sandwich without cheese! =) Here's the recipe in full:

Great dinner.. it was done in under 30 minutes.. husby approved!
This could be made for a crowd too.. easily!
Plus.. if you wanted to use a butter substitution that would be just fine too! Even wheat hoggies would be good!
Let me know if you try this and like it!
