What will you regret?

Friday, June 3, 2011

I found a list on the Internet of the 5 most common regrets of dying patients a woman met while working as a nurse.

Here's the list.

  • I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.

  • I wish I didn't work so hard.

  • I wish I'd had the courage to express my feelings.

  • I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.

  • I wish that I had let myself be happier.

How profound that list is.. I sit here and wonder what my regrets would be.
But.. I don't want to have any regrets when I die . I know it's inevitable, but I'm going to try my hardest to keep it from happening . and as for right now, I'm going to start saying "yes" to the things I used to always reject, and I'm going to start working on loving myself more and also showing the people in my life what they mean to me more. Also, I'm going to focus more on what I'm thankful for and try my hardest to view every obstacle as an opportunity . thus begins, to once again quote the beloved Brit Drew, "the year of spiritual journey" .

Just something to think about.
