WITH SANTA BEING SO BUSY EVERY CHRISTMAS I THINK KEEPING THE COOKIES SIMPLE IS THE BEST IDEA! THIS RECIPE IS FROM LAST YEAR AND IT WORKED SO GOOD THAT I THOUGHT I WOULD SHARE IT WITH YOU ALL!
SO HERE ARE A COUPLE IDEAS FOR THOSE CHRISTMAS COOKIES!!
THIS IS THE RECIPE FOR THE PERFECT CHOCOLATE CHIP OR ANY KIND OF CHIP COOKIE..ITS SUPER CHEWY, FLAVORFUL AND COMES WITH AN EDGE OF CRISPNESS.
HERE ARE THE INGREDIENTS..
2 1/2 CUPS ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
1/4 CUP SUGAR
2 CUPS PACKED DARK BROWN SUGAR
2 EGGS
1 LARGE EGG WHITE
11 OZ UNSALTED BUTTER ( JUST A LITTLE OVER 2 1/2 STICKS)
2 TEASPOONS SALT
1 TEASPOON BAKING SODA
1 TEASPOON BAKING POWDER..
ADD INS..
WITH THIS RECIPE THE DOUGH WAS DIVIDED IN HALF WITH 1 CUP CHOCOLATE CHIPS IN ONE AND IN THE OTHER ONE 1/2 CUP MACADAMIA NUTS, DRIED CRANBERRIES AND WHITE CHOCOLATE CHIPS..
PREHEAT OVEN TO 350
CREAM TOGETHER BUTTER AND SUGAR IN MIXER..
ADD EGGS AND EGG WHITE, ONE AT A TIME..
WHISK TOGETHER DRY INGREDIENTS AND SLOWLY ADD TO THE MIXED, BEING VERY CAREFUL TO NOT OVER MIX..
FOLD IN THE ADD INS..USE YOUR HANDS FOR THIS STEP IF YOU NEED..
I USE A SMALL COOKIE SCOOP AND SPACE THEM 2 INCHES APART..
BAKE THE COOKIES FOR 15 MINUTES OR UNTIL SLIGHTLY GOLDEN..
HERE IS A TRICK..
DURING THE BAKING, ABOUT EVER 5 MINUTES, PULL THE SHEET OUT AND SLAM IT DOWN..I KNOW THIS SOUNDS CRAZY BUT IT WILL FOR SURE HELP KEEPING THEM CHEWY AND FLAT..
