ELF Flawless Finish Foundation REVIEW, SWATCHES, PHOTOS AND VIDEO

Saturday, January 14, 2012
Hello Everyone!!

Time for another review!! First off.. I hope your having a beautiful Saturday!

I am going to try to get this finished before husby gets home because we have a date tonight!

So lets get started!

Today I am going to be talking to you about the

ELF FLAWLESS FINISH FOUNDATION

( $6.00 , .8oz )

Product Details

Achieve a flawless complexion with the silky smooth e.l.f. Studio Flawless Finish Foundation. The lightweight and oil-free formula blends in naturally for a beautiful semi-matte finish. This liquid foundation applies easily and lasts all day for visibly brighter and radiant looking skin. Using our Flawless Finish Foundation not only restores uneven skin textures and tones, but most importantly, the SPF 15 protects your skin against harmful sun damage!

Back of package..

Ingredients

In this particular collection there are six shades

Porcelain #83111

 Sand #83112

Buff #83113

Caramel #83114

Almond #83115

Coco #83116

Which isn't that many...

Very limited color selection, mostly ashy, neutral undertones…no warm/cool tones.

I am pretty pale so I got the Porcelain color

As you can see this foundation is packaged pretty nice..

And it has a

pump which I love!

Here is the

Swatch and after I blended it into my hand I was actually surprised at how well I

liked it. It does have a bit of a sticky feel but that does go away pretty fast.I would say this foundation is a light to medium coverage foundation.  It also seemed to be a little buildable too. I just add more to whatever areas I need more coverage and blended in.  I also use this with concealer and both blended pretty easy together.

This product does state it is oil free but mineral oil is one of the first ingredients listed. I am not a big fan of mineral oil foundations but this one has not caused me to break out.. thank goodness. I also think the fragrance is a bit strong too but it does fade pretty fast.

I am not a huge fan of this foundation however for a $ 6.00 foundation, I think its amazing. There are not many foundations at this price that are very good. I would give this product a big fat

C
I know I don't normally rate products like this but I think I am going to start.. I think its a great way to give you guys an accurate scale of what I really think of all these products!

I don't think this is a terrible foundation.. I just like some others more but for the price I think this is pretty good! I will continue using this off and on and see if I change my mind. I really like this foundation for an ELF foundation. I have never liked their tinted moisturizers or their mineral foundation and now they are expanding.I think that being this collection is pretty new.. they don't have a lot of shades. I am betting that will change.

I am not in love with it but I do like it and think its a great deal for the price. If you are on a limited budget this might be a good option for you!

Here is a picture of me wearing the foundation..

Here is my quick video review

If you have tried this.. I would love to hear from you!

Review: E.L.F. Cosmetics Mineral 4 Piece Bamboo Brush Set

Tuesday, January 10, 2012
If you guys saw my recent ELF Haul Video you would have saw one of the things I got was these ELF Cosmetics Mineral 4 Piece Bamboo Brushes.

So these are what I am going to be reviewing tonight!

Mineral 4 Piece Bamboo Brush Set

This antibacterial Taklon bristled brush is 100% cruelty free, luxuriously soft and can be used with wet or dry products and is ideal for e.l.f. Natural Mineral Makeup. The natural and sustainable bamboo handle fits ergonomically in your hand for comfort and precise application. The recycled Ferrule is eco-friendly for guilt free beauty. Because beautifying yourself and the world is a beautiful thing!

Set Includes:

*Complexion Brush

*Concealer Brush

*Blending Eye Brush

*Mini Kabuki Brush

*Brush Bag

Retail Price: $10.00

Everything about these brushes remind me of the Eco Tools brushes.

My first thoughts when I opened up the brush set was WOW, these brushes are soft. Even softer than the Studio Brushes. Also, they feel extremely sturdy. I have read a lot of reviews on these brushes and my thoughts on this particular set has nothing to do with what I read. A lot of people found this set to not be as much of a multitasking kit as they would have liked.

For me personally, I could do EVERYTHING WITH THIS SET. I mean from foundation to eyeliner. I think people who say they can't multitask with these, really don't understand that all these brushes can do many things.

 ELF Mineral Bamboo Complexion Brush

This brush could be used for anything from blush to bronzer to even using it for a highlighter. Super multitasking.

ELF Mineral Bamboo Blending Eye Brush

This brush is also multitasking. Can be used for shadow all over the lid, then you could use it to blend in a dark crease color and it could be swept with color under the eye.

 ELF Mineral Bamboo Concealer Brush

Yet again this could be for foundation, concealer, and even a gel eyeliner. Its got a point and you could get a clean line with this brush. You could even use it eyes shadow to line your eye too.

ELF Mineral Bamboo Mini Kabuki Brush

Again this could be used to add a finishing powder or a bronzer, blush and even foundation. A lot of people like kabuki brushes for foundation.

See all these brushes are really able to be used for MANY different things. You just have to try them out!

All of the brushes, with the exception of the tiny kabuki are around 4 to 4.5 inches long. Perfect for travel or carrying in your bag.

All the brushes fit really nicely in this little bag and there is even room for a couple more if you wanted to add them.

It has a nice little flap with a plastic snap that holds it closed.

I love that this set comes with this little bag. There have been a few sets that I have bought that didn't come with a bag or case. I don't like my brushes just laying around in my make up bag or purse. Anything that goes on my face needs to be as clean as possible. So love the bag!

I have travel brushes from MAC, Sima, Real Techniques, Revlon, and a few others.. and these will work just as the others do. I do think since they are very light in color you either have to get use to them stained up or clean them with a make up wipe after each use. I just won't do that. Especially if I am traveling.

What really makes me happy about a set like this is you toss it in your purse.. most days you don't need it but then one day you suddenly find a situation where you are not home and need some brushes.. there they are.. in your purse and clean from being stored in their own little bag. That's when I really appreciate how

 ~ multitasking ~

they really are. I think Elf has done a really good job with most of their brushes. There are better ones out there but really.. their brushes work all the same. I have about 100 ELF brushes and love them. They stand up good to cleaning.. they don't loose their shapes.. and they work great. I love the studio line the best and you can get get all these brushes in full size  at e.l.f.

Elf is always running sales so if you are interested in it, sign up for their daily email alerts and you will find them cheaper!

I am happy with this purchase. I am sure it will come in handy one day!!

Here's my video review!

Enjoy!

Thanks for watching!

Love these!!

HUGE Walgreens Haul + A Few things from Walmart!!!!

Friday, November 25, 2011
As many of you guys know, I went out today...and was nervous about being among the black Friday shoppers. I was lucky that I didn't have any issues with it. I went out to all the drug stores to see what I could find. I figured all the drug store beauty items would be disorganized and nothing left. Well CVS sucked and so did Rite Aid. They barley had any beauty products a lower price than what they normally are.

Well Walgreens was the WINNER today!!

I was so happy to go in there and see all the sales!

I got a ton of stuff.. I will be doing swatches and reviews in the weeks to come but tonight I wanted to show you what I got. I only paid full price for 3 things.. the rest was on sale. I got my receipt and I will try to keep straight what everything cost but I will try!

So here is the haul in full!!

22 items total

I had to take the pictures on my dining room table because it was so big and

look at how was up in the chair at the table watching.. Isn't Gizmo cute!

So one of the items I paid full price for was

Eco Tools Limited Edition Beautiful Expressions Kabuki Set.

( I will do a full post on these tomorrow )

I also saw this adorable

Cat Ring Holder. I know this is really not a beauty item per say but it does kinda fit with beauty!

I love it.. In fact, I think I am going back to get another. One for beside my bed and one for in the kitchen when I am cooking!

The next thing I paid full price for is these

make up removers. I will do a full post and review on these tomorrow or Sunday.. I tried these the first time when my Free Target Beauty Bag came in [ see post HERE ] I am loving these right now and can't wait to tell you why!

The last item I paid full price for was this

Elf Holiday Edition in Natural Eye.

And just so you guys know I will tell the prices of the 3 above items when I review them.

But here is what I found on sale!!

First with the eyeshadows..

Ok.. With the Revlon Color Stay quad was $ 3.59 and the other 2 shadows were $ 1.10 each!!

HOW GREAT IS THAT!!

On to blush and bronzers..

The Malini Baked Bronzer was $ 4.00 and the Revlon Blush was $ 1.50.

They also had this

Cover Girl Professional Mascara for $ 2.99

Now lip items..

Ok.. I had fun with the lip products!!

The 2 Relvons on the left were 4.59 each , The Rimmels that are in the middle were $ 2.69 each and the Revlon on the end was $ 3.99. The Gloss was 3.49.

Then the nail products were calling my name!!

The deal on these polishes and strips was amazing!

The Sally Hansen polishes in the middle was $ 2.59 each

The Essie polish was $ 4.00

The Rimmel Polish was 2.99 and the last polish on the right is Sally Hansen Salon polish that cost $ 2.99.

The Salon Effects was $ 3.99

Last but not least I am going to go ahead and include what I picked up at Walmart..

Some more Conditioner, moisturizer, floss and of course, Oprah's new magazine!!

WALGREENS KICKED ASS TODAY!!

Now, I should explain to you guys, that this is a marker sale.. What I mean is all these items had those little dots on the displays of which items were on sale. So not all products from the line were these prices!! You will have to just go in to YOUR Walgreens and see what you find!!

Clearly, I found a lot and I wasn't in there till after 4 pm.

So, get there and check it out!!

I will do swatches and reviews over the weekend!!

HAPPY HAPPY!!

Saturday Night Brush Cleaning + a Review..

Monday, May 23, 2011
Saturday night was pretty dull around here. Scott was wore out and went to bed early so I had plenty of time to get one job done..

Brush Cleaning..

I had a ton of dirty brushes that really needed to be cleaned..

I decided to use a new brush cleaner by ELF. It is anti-bacterial brush cleanser that disinfects brushes to provide a fresh and clean application every time.

I some in the palm of my hand.

Swirled a wet brush in my hand..

Rinsing often at a angle..

30 minutes later...

This is what I had..

I got a ton of my brushes cleaned..
All my Sigma and MAC Brushes..Eco tools brushes...ELF brushes..

I was done for the night after this..

But..

I still have more brushes that needed cleaning..
For another day!

Ok... for the ELF brush cleaner review..

First here is what elf says about this cleaner

....................................................................................

e.l.f. Studio Brush Shampoo

$3.00
for 4.1 fl oz.

Color Brush Shampoo # 85009

An anti-bacterial brush cleanser for thorough cleaning in-between makeup applications. Disinfects brushes to provide a fresh and clean application every time. Washes away traces of dirt, makeup, oil and debris from your brush while conditioning the hair to provide a clean and soft application for every use.

DIRECTIONS INGREDIENTS

Cleanse brush regularly by massaging a small amount of the shampoo with water and working it through the bristle from the base of the brush outward.

Rinse thoroughly and gently squeeze out excess water.

Reshape the bristles and lay flat on a clean cloth to fully dry before next use.

.................................................................................

My thoughts..

When I stumbled across this product at Target, I was very excited! I am always trying out new brush cleaners.  The liquid is more of a gel, and it does very well at clinging to the fibers instead of just falling off into the sink. After only a few seconds of massaging the brush, the water in the sink was filthy! It didn't take long to get all of the makeup out of my brush, and make it look new again! I am very pleased with this product, and will be buying more. I used the entire bottle to clean the brushes in the picture above. I know that sounds like a lot.. But I washed a lot of brushes and many of my foundation and concealer brushes were full of make up. Plus my eye shadow and powder brushes were really dirty too..

If there is anything critical to say about this product.. I would be that it was hard to get out of the bottle.. Especially when your hands are wet. It worked better when taking off the cap and just tapping or squeezing it out onto my hand. I love love to see this in a pump!!

Another elf product that I love.. I just love this brand.!!
