Happy Wednesday Friends! Time for another Wednesday Hodgepodge with Joyce from over at From This Side of the Pond ....this is always such a fun linkup.. join in anytime! Hope you enjoy.
1. The best part of waking up is the coffee going in my cup! I've never been much of a morning person....I use to hate the very idea of waking up.I never woke up in a happy mood...always tired from the moment my feet hit the floor. But slowly I am learning new ways to cope with the morning where I am not nearly as grumpy. No TV when I first get up. I like it quiet...and I like opening the sliding doors in the family room to allow some fresh air to get in...taking a few minutes to enjoy some coffee without any technology or disruption. On those days...mornings are easier.
2. Given a choice, which animal interaction would you most like to experience (or for those non-adventurers...which would you dislike the least?)- Swim with the dolphins at one of several locations in the Florida Keys, a lion encounter ten minutes from Victoria Falls (Africa), or a day at a remote base camp high in the Big Sur wilderness via the Ventana Wildlife Society helping track California condors?
I'm a cat person so I would have to pick the lion encounter and just hope like hell it doesn't eat me.
3. What is something you fear about 'old age'? What is something you look forward to?
I don't really fear old age. I think life gets better with age...I really do. I think we all grow into who we are suppose to be and I think we all grow more confident with wisdom. I am a little scared of getting sick in some way but maybe learning to take better care of myself now will help later. I look forward to seeing the kids grow up and have their own families. I want to see them healthy, happy, and know they will be ok once I am gone. That's what I look forward to.... it's my only wish.
4. Hot sauce...are you a fan? If you answered yes, what's something you make/eat that must have hot sauce? On a scale of 1-10 how hot is too hot?
I am just starting to like it... on wings of course. It its a 3 it's too hot for me! But mix with some butter and the tangy taste is pretty good!
5. It's been said that children learn what they live. What do you think children learn at your house?
Probably all the wrong things! Just kidding. There are so many other outside influences that also teach our kids more than probably most of us want. I do think they learn what they live...how could they not. I think my kids are learning the key things I think matters. Spirituality, kindness for all living souls, education, family, curiosity, and love. I am hoping those things out weigh the bad words they might be learning here too!
6. What's your favorite movie with a number in it's title?
Off the top of my head....
7. Saturday (August 16th) is National Tell a Joke Day...share one here.
What did the hat say to the scarf?
You hang around and I’ll go ahead.
......Jackson told me that joke just the other day! :)
8. Insert your own random thought here.
Today I am busy getting things ready for one last summer trip before Jackson starts back to school. We are heading to Myrtle Beach tomorrow and I have a lot to do. I am busy getting out all our clothes and then I have to get them packed up. I also have a ton of food I am taking for the villa and tons of electronics . I cleaned the house Monday but I am sure I am going to have to a quick pick up before leaving. I am even going to bake some cupcakes too not only for the kids but for the house sitter too.
I also have to get a lot of things done for the animals before leaving too. Our 7 year old Golden Retriever just started having seizures so he is on a bunch of new meds and special all natural healthy diet. He was eating pretty healthy already but nothing like what he is now. So got all that stuff to get ready too. And lets not forget the finicky kitty cats.
After all the work of packing and getting things ready, we might just get out of here Thursday and head to the beach!!Its exciting getting to see the older kids and also my sister. I just know we are going to have a great time. I hope you have a great Wednesday. I'll be back in a bit.
