Wednesday Hodgepodge!

Happy Wednesday Friends! Time for another Wednesday Hodgepodge with Joyce from over at From This Side of the Pond ....this is always such a fun linkup.. join in anytime! Hope you enjoy!

1. Are you settling for something?

I'm sure I am.... I think we all settle for things at different points in our lives. I try hard though to not settle for less...or settle when in fact, I should be figuring something else out.

2.  It wasn't that long ago almost every store in the US locked doors and turned out lights on Thanksgiving Day. This year many will be open all day Thursday, giving shoppers a jump start on 'Black Friday'. In your opinion is this a good thing or a not so good thing? Will you be shopping on Thanksgiving Day?

No matter if I had 5k that I could just go spend, I would never go out the day after Thanksgiving. Never. I do like Cyber Monday but I don't want to get out in the crowds for deals that really are not that much better. No.. No.. No.. Friday is normally used to sleep in, recover from the night before, and getting our house back together. Its a big job trying to get things cleaned up, organized, and together the day after Thanksgiving. And I am not sure what I think about stores being open on Thursday. First, that distracts from Thanksgiving in my opinion and what about the employees who want to spend the holiday with their family and friends? Do they get the choice? I guess I don't like it much!

3. Speaking of shopping... I saw a recent article on the twelve best shopping cities in the world. In order they are-

New York, Tokyo, London, Kuala Lumpur, Paris, Hong Kong, Buenos Aires, Vienna, Dubai, Madrid, Milan, and Seoul.

Ever shopped in any of the cities listed? In which city would you most like to pull out the plastic or cold hard cash?

I have shopped in NY a bunch but that's it from the list. I think in Paris I would do so much damage that I would need both... the cash and the card! :)

4.  When did you last dine by candlelight?

Well we normally have a candle burning on the table but I don't think that really counts! Its been a while since I have ate totally by candle light. I was listening to the radio taking my son to school yesterday and they said a survey asking what is the most romantic thing you would want your mate to do for you. Guess what!? Dinner by Candlelight was #1 and a love letter was #2. ♥

5. What do you have too much of?

Honestly, I probably have too much of everything. But I am trying to sort through my years of stuff and get rid of stuff I don't need or use anymore. I know other people have much less and live just fine without it all. I actually crave a
simpler life... but would always want/need internet!

6. The Hunger Games...are you a fan?  Did you read the book(s)?  Will you/have you seen the movie?  Will you/have you seen Catching Fire?  No spoilers please!

Nope... not a bit interested in the books or the movie.. it's just not my thing.

7. Share your plans for Thanksgiving Day. The who, the where, the what...especially the what! As in what's for dinner?  If you're one of my International visitors, whose homeland doesn't celebrate American Thanksgiving (the whole world doesn't ya know!), then still tell us your plans for Thursday.

Our Thanksgiving Plans actually start tonight because we have family coming that should arrive by 9 or 10 pm. Thanksgiving this year will only be 7 of us. We are going to Florida at Christmas and spending time there with other family so we wanted to get together with the others on Thanksgiving. A few can't make it but we have a full day planned.  I have been busy preparing as much as I can ahead of time. But we are havint t

8.  Insert your own random thought here:

I can't believe that Christmas is just around the corner. Yes, I know we are all thinking of Thanksgiving right now but in just a few weeks we will be at the biggest holiday ever in the U.S. I really have not prepared at all for it and starting to worry. Husby says not to worry or stress because it will all work out fine! Right now I am focused on the big Thanksgiving preparations because we have guests coming in tonight. YIKES! I still have a lot of cleaning to do today and I even have a trip to the market planned but lots going on today! I wish you all a very beautiful and delicious Thanksgiving. If you don't celebrate Thanksgiving, I hope you have a wonderful Thursday!

  1. Nice to meet you! I love the font you use on your blog. I also like Cyber Monday, although it seems the sales have started already. Happy Thanksgiving :)
