Afternoon Friends! I hope you all are having a great day. I got to sleep in thanks to a loving husband who woke up early and took Jackson to school. So I slept in to 11 am and woke up feeling pretty good.. besides being cold! I can't say this past weekend was perfect by any stretch of the imagination but it was nice being home with the boys.....most of the time! We didn't do a lot this past weekend. Instead, we stayed home for the most part and just tinkered around here.
Blue Ridge Mountains:
Fall is everywhere right now. We did take a drive and check out the beautiful blue ridge mountains. Every time I get in my car, I feel so lucky to have those pretty towering mountains in my view. The leaves are turning and they are even more beautiful than normal. I still fight between the beach and the mountains and right now.. I am loving the mountains! I think for a while now my love for the mountains has been reflected in every weekend in review post! For the longest time, I felt that beach calling me but I have really been loving it here in South Carolina. Who would have guessed!? I hated North Carolina but here, its different. I just hop in my car, turn out of the neighborhood and just fall in love with the beauty of our mountains. I keep trying to get husby to take me hiking up there, but he felt a drive would be better because he was too tired to go climbing up some mountain! Ha! It was a pretty drive so I can't really complain!
Sweater Weather:
With the fall beauty has came the fall weather changes. I am someone who gets really cold, really fast. So I have been digging out all the sweaters I can find. I use to hate hate hate sweaters because they always seemed to add 10 pounds. No thank you ... But here lately, I don't care.. and I have been wearing a lot of cardigans and lets not forget comfy sweat shirts too. Yea, not so glamorous but very nice for a cold weekend day!
Wings:
I don't know why, but there are so many butterflies around our neighborhood. Every day I see a butterfly zipping from yard to yard just coasting through the air. I don't get it.. We have A LOT of them! One even got into the house, and ended up meeting God when our pack of cats hunted it down and almost ate it. Opps.. wrong house Mr. Butterfly!
Mean Boys:

I am still learning how to live in a houseful of boys during the school year. Brittany is here in the summer but most of the time I live with Scott and Jackson. This weekend proved to be more challenging that others. I thought both of them ganged up on me and I didn't like it one bit! Jackson had a bunch of his own little " mean moments this weekend and I really felt Scott was the lead and it became " Bash Mom Day" instead of Sunday. It took a while to calm down and try to go back to normal. I guess I am not use to be the enemy with my kids. My best friend keeps telling me, he will hate you for a few years.. and then he will home on a different day and love you more than anything. I am sure not use to the kids hurting my feelings. But I think I am just getting my first dose of it and it sure didn't feel good. :( But I choose to let it go, so our Sunday wouldn't be only full of hurt feels and anger. Because believe me, after I got over the shock of hurt, I got good and angry. Thankfully, we all pulled it together and had a nice evening together.
Today:

It felt really good not to have to get up at the crack of dawn this morning. But I have a ton of jobs around here for me to do today... not to mention, I have some videos to edit... blog post to work on... and I have a Monday makeup video coming up in just a bit plus yesterdays Vlog. Stay tuned! And to be very blunt, I am still sitting around in my pjs drinking my coffee and enjoying the quiet house. I totally admit that I am starting this day easy without any drama from Scott or Jackson.. And I'm liking it! :)
I hope you are having a great fall Monday! Click on any of the links below if you want to link up your Weekend in Review!
