Wednesday Hodgepodge

Wednesday, August 7, 2013

Happy Wednesday Friends! Time for another Wednesday Hodgepodge with Joyce from over at From This Side of the Pond ....this is always such a fun linkup.. join in anytime! I am running a little late tonight with this link up but its been an unusually busy day! Hope you enjoy.

1. The first week of August is National Simplify Your Life Week...what's one thing you could do this week to qualify as a participant?

Wow.. I can list way more than one!

Well the one that would probably be the best for myself and my family would be to create a budget and stick to it. We as a family suck at it. There are times when we eat out too much, spend too much here or there.. not to mention most of the time I forget about a random bill and have to pay late charges just because I didn't pay attention. I don't budget at all.. and neither does my husband.. Our savings prove we suck at balancing money and the bills!

2. It's also National Peach Month...peach pie, peach cobbler, or please pour me a Bellini? What's your peach pleasure?

Well we are lucky to live pretty close to..

Abbott Farms is a huge peach farm located in a few towns over that has some amazing peaches. OMG.. I will eat anything/everything peach. I don't think there is anything better in the summer than a ripe peach. You can check out the Abbott Farms Website because they have some great peach recipes over there!

3. Eleanor Roosevelt once wrote, "Do one thing every day that scares you."Agree or disagree...explain.

Well I read Joyces answer..and while I stand strong with her on so many things.. I don't agree. First, I have to read and interpret that quotes as it is. She didn't say - helps you grow - or - challenges you - Nope. She said scares you. I can't think of one scar on my body, in my body, in my heart , or in soul that was good. None. I think if something scares you.. 99.9% of the time that is not going to be a good experience. So I do not agree. I think a with a scar in anyway, you have to heal. Yea.. I think her quote as it stands.. SUCKS! :) I like this one better!

4. What's your favorite household chore?  Yes, you have to choose one.

Taking care of the animals. I consider that a chore in this house. We have 5 Persian Cats.. a litter on the way and a big ass Golden Retriever. Taking care of them is a big job. Not that I like scooping cat boxes, but I don't mind feeding time because they are all so cute.. I don't mind bathing and brushing them.. and I don't mind taking care of the dog. He's easier than the cats by far but giving him a bath is a huge task that I normally give to my husband!

And I don't mind..

making the beds because I love the fast result! Nothing pulls a room together like a nicely made bed.

5. Fodor's recently listed (what they've dubbed) the ten most beautiful sunset spots in America.

Butterfly Beach in Santa Barbara CA, Mount Haleakala in Maui HI, Old Fort Marcy in Santa Park Fe NM, Laguna Beach California, Hopi Point in Grand Canyon AZ, Four Seasons in Miami FL, Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica CA, Gay Head in Martha's Vineyard MA, Ensign Peak in Salt Lake City UT, and Mallory Square in Key West Florida.

Have you seen the sun set from any of these spots? If you could choose to watch the sun set from one of the spots on Fodor's list, which would you choose.  Where was the prettiest sunset you've ever seen?

I have been to Miami and but I wasn't staying at the Four Seasons though! And they do have some of the most beautiful sunsets ever. And if could pick one off that list it would probably be Laguna Beach.

6. What's your favorite or most used app?  If you don't use apps, how about your favorite or most visited website?

I plan on doing a video about this but I would have to say either Instagram for pictures and I have been loving Audiable for listening to books. Most nights now I have fallen asleep listening to a Julia Child book. Love it!

7. We've recently passed the halfway mark for 2013...write a seven word sentence that sums up your year thus far.

This year has been one hard year. ( thus far.. but working hard to make it better! )

8.  Insert your own random thought here.

As I was saying in the question above.. this has been one hard year. I can't think of a year that has been as complicated as this one. I even wrote about it all yesterday in this married life post. But I am working hard to turn things around so we can move into 2014 with smiles instead of tears. One day @ a time.

Hope you had a wonderful Wednesday!

xoxo
