NIKIE WASH....

With the rain coming down, there is not much to do except work around the house. I am trying to stay focused on things that need to get done around here. There is so much to do before we move and before the kids get here.

Laundry has always been a problem for me.. I have way too many clothes..And the laundry piles up so fast. But the last week or so, I have been caught up and finally I was able to get a few of our everyday Nikies washed!

I always put off washing shoes, blankets, ect. until all the laundry is done so I have been really wanting to get these washed. Soooo happy they are washed and drying! I allow them to soak in the washer with bleach and soap before the washer starts its cycle. Its amazing how a little bleach and soap will clean up some shoes! Plus I love the smell of bleach.. Weird, I know but it always makes me think things are super clean when I smell it. Scott, not so much. He always thinks it smells like chemicals.

I am waiting on a pizza to cook in the oven right now, then I am heading up stairs to start working on our bed room closet. Its a disaster. I will take some pictures of before and after. I am sure I will have a huge pile of clothes that I am getting rid of. Its a pain because I really have to try on all the clothes up there so I can decide if they are going to the trash or if I am keeping them. I have tried to see if anyone would be willing to come pick up the clothes but I cant find any organization within our community to do it. I have called the Salvation Army a few times but they dont even pick up the phone. Pretty frustrating..I have lots of nice clothes that some people might actually be able to use, but they are going into the trash if I cant find someone to come get them. Its too hard to carry them out and load them up for donation.

So hopefully by 4pm I am upstairs starting to work on that terrible closet. I dont even know how I let it get so bad. I hate it up there. I have never really liked our upstairs. I thought when we moved here I would love it, but I find it a little scary. So I guess its been easier, shoving everything into the closet and shutting the doors. What a mess that has caused. There are so many things in that closet. It will take hours to get it all done. But today is the start..And maybe I will stay up there and get it finished..Who knows!
